This is one of our best trips to date. The service is like none other. I could move here. Our server is Javier Valenzwela Garcia. He's the best at what he do. His service is excellent. Cancun was my favorite place to visit in Mexico prior to us coming here. Puerta Vallarta Mexico is now my favorite vacation spot. I will reccomend this spot to everyone. Resort great, food great, and entertainment is great. Looking forward to my next visit.

First let me begin I did not post reviews for long time even was traveling to many places because there always were some negatives and highlighting them was in my opinion unfair to hardworking people serving me there. But now I have to because I do not want my fellow travelers to make costly mistake like I did. My well desired vacation, my daughter graduation trip was completely ruined in that resort. The troubles begins since the beginning. After no any greetings I was met by rude customer service named Fatima who lied straight in my face that type of room I ordered located just on second floor. My travel agent send request one month in advance that I need higher floor and it was highlighted in my hotel voucher because my daughter suffering from asthma but it did not helped and apparently I was eligible for fourth floor. Nobody except customer service speak English so when you do not speak Spanish you out of luck. Food is cheapest quality I have ever seen in all resorts with very limited choices. One time I tried snack bar, place an order and when it was ready server simply give it to locals which come after me. I was so outraged and express my concerns to customer service with no results. I traveled last year to Now Amber resort, spent the same amount of money and there is huge difference from Park Royal. In my opinion Grand and Luxury in name is pure joke. By the way there is no life guard on duty and big sign on the beach suggest you to swim on your own risk.

    Far from luxury

My mother and I visited here for a week at the end of April. From the second we got to the resort the service was bad. My mother and I have travelled to many resorts in Mexico, many which were luxury but this was one certainly far from it. When we arrived the bell boy took our luggage and we went to the front desk to check in. Ill be honest the resort and lobby is truly modern and the view is spectacular. Fatima checked us in and let us know that we were on the second floor room 217. We booked through a travel agent and we specifically made a request to have a higher floor because of medical reasons. We booked the deluxe pool view rather then the super saver. (paid the extra money) I expressed my concern in terms of having a higher floor however she stated that they have nothing available so we said okay. She then proceeded to tell us that the deluxe ocean view is only the second floor. Which is a lie because we found out from other staying at the resort that they had a higher floor and booked the same room. Once we got to our room our luggage was no where to be found, we called front desk and kept hearing "it'll be there in 5 min," 45 minutes pass and still no luggage. Finally I raised a storm and they brought our luggage. Our fridge was not loaded when we arrived, we had to track someone down to deliver water to us. The beach itself is decent depending on the time. We had high waves but swimmable if you're good at swimmer. We received a paper which gave us a breakdown of the "activities" that were happening on the resort. Which none of them happened except for some volley ball in the pool. But on the paper it promised beach golf, volleyball, darts etc. The service is crap unless you're a local or tipping like theres no tomorrow. If you aren't then they don't even acknowledge you. We sat at the beach and at the pool and we lost track of how many times they passed us or went to the person next to us to serve them. The food variety is by far the worst I've ever had. Worse than in Cuba. The buffet is a joke. If you're a healthy eater this place isn't for you. The food is either all fried and dripping in oil or bland rice or beans that has been sitting out for too long. The a la carte is the same stuff you'll find in the buffet just plated fancier and smaller portions. Make sure you find out the days they choose to close the buffet because they'll do it out of no where because there isn't enough people at the resort. During our stay there were probably no more then 30 people staying. 95% of them are locals and on the weekends its even busier with them. None of the workers know how to speak english except for one or two, so good luck trying to ask them for certain things. During the week we noticed that 60% of the rooms were vacant so we could have easily been moved to a higher floor from day one. The entertainment is terrible. They have children songs playing and some lights that last about 45 minutes. The food and serve is definitely not luxury. The hotel is actually quite nice especially the equinox bar which we did not pay for because its a waste of money, we simply went upstairs and just enjoyed the view, they didn't say anything. They also have a gym upstairs which is new and actually really nice. Being a hospitality manager myself, the first rule of service is to provide exceptional service right at the beginning to leave an impression. This resort provides minimum service that is certainly not luxury quality. The people working here will not go above and beyond for you. Save your money, pay a little more and go to a different resort !

Restaurants -Good selection available on the weekends. During the day, the only place to eat is the buffet. At night, the Mexican & Italian restaurants are available. Seafood on weekends only. Buffet had a good selection of food and had nightly theme nights. -Snack bar was not good - served cold squeeze cheese on the chips. They have burgers & hot dogs, but nothing for vegetarians. -Italian restaurant, you can only eat here if you are over 12 years old. If you sit in the Mexican restaurant, you can order off the Italian menu. We used this option one night as buffet was closed (water issues) & we had already eaten at the Mexican restaurant 3 times. Food is really good at all 3 al a carte restaurants – Mexican, Seafood and Italian Rooms -The rooms are a great size. Standard room - 2 double beds with 2 couches, a desk, a dressing area & a big bathroom. Unfortunately, our room smelled like sewage the 10 days we stayed. We kept the bathroom floor drain covered, the fan & the a/c on to mask the smell. The fridge was to be stocked daily, more like every 3rd day. View from the balcony - amazing. Facilities -The gym & adult lounge/pool area were closed for the 10 days we visited. No reason given why it was closed. -Kids club had daily agendas, but they didn’t really follow it. We tried to meet a few times in the spots where activities were supposed to be, but the staff didn't show to run the event. - The ice cream bar/coffee shop was cute, but it seemed the espresso machine was down more than it worked. (water issues). The ice cream and desserts offered were tasty. - The sports bar was not a sports bar, the tv’s didn’t work – no satellite or cable. We suggested they add a ping pong table/pool table since the space is useless without entertainment. -The lobby area on the 5th floor was so beautiful. We hung out here many afternoons and evenings. Beach/Pool -We enjoyed the 2 pools with the swim up bar. Lots of sun or shade if you need. Lots of loungers available although you have to go down early to “save your chair.” -Beach was beautiful, the water was rough while we were there. You must be careful if you want to play in the waves. Great staff - Andres, Alfredo, Carlos, Oskar, Eduardo, Max, Jesus and Alfredo. Thank you for making our trip better. Unfortunately, the hotel was still renovating. The water would be turned off during the day, which was extremely frustrating, we couldn’t shower or use the washrooms.

Me and my partner decided to take a last minute trip. We planned and booked pretty fast! Overall we were extremely happy with the Grand Park. Everything was super smoot; flight, getting to and from the airport etc. We arrived on a Monday in April, the resort was very quiet and relaxing. We were put in the new section of the building which was super clean (legit there wereWwwusbpeopel sepudn cleaning) + our room + view were amazing. Staff were super kind and friendly always assisting when needed. The food; there are three a la cartes (Italian, Mexican, seafood) and a main buffet. The buffet is open specific timing closing for an hour or so between meal times, the a la cartes open at 7 + one is only open on weekend evenings. Dress codes for all the restaurants are quite casual. There is also a snack bar at the pool where you can get burgers, hotdogs, nachos + Is open 12-6, and a cafe and gelato for some sweet snacks and breads open 7:30-11. Overall the food is quite good! If you were a picky eater or might be a little more difficult to eat as they have more adventurous items. No fries, chicken nuggets etc + a lot of the food is super spicy! They only thing which was a negative is the noise level at night. There seems to be music + shows going on al throughout the night. The sound travels so much and it’s was quite loud from our room on the third floor. These shows only seemd to be during the weekends but went pretty late into the night compared to most resorts (like 1AM). So if your a light sleeper it may be a really big problem.
