Occidental Caribe more like Occidental amazing!

Upon arrive I was easily able to cut the never-ending line of college spring breakers. Service at the front desk was friendly although difficult to understand. They upgraded our room free of charge to both premium suites seeing as there were 8 people in our reservation. On our walk to the room, we were met with the indoor bar. Smells of booze emanated as we ordered our 16 strawberry daiquiris (2 per person of course). Our room was clean and the sheets were kind of clean. Onto food! Although some dishes were unique and unheard of we were able to fill our stomach with minor bathroom visits. Definitely recommend visiting Habatchi! The beach was beautiful, was able to find about 3-4 free pairs of sunglasses seeing as the drunk spring breakers would swim with them on! Free glasses = money (girl math) the beach was quiet ever now and then a man would approach with his half-dead monkey asking if you want a picture! They charge a sweet minimum of $20 for the picture whether you want one or not! Please give the monkeys water!!! All in all, we had a wonderful time seeing as we lost weight and gained memories

I personally had a stressful experience at occidental caribe. The workers were very unfriendly and caused a lot of unneeded problems when checking in and out. The food situation was not the best but that was the least of my worries due to all the problems. When at the pool or beach you cannot receive a towel without a towel card. Overall the workers were incredibly rude for no reason. I would not recommend this hotel, unless you want to have problems with workers and terrible food.
It was alright but will not return

Have been at this resort before and it was great but over time it has gotten a bit run down, needs upgrading, my biggest problem I had was the 2200 spring breakers that run the place you could not get to near bars they were every were they would drink hard all day and night and at night 3-5 am they would screaming and hollering , banging on doors, we did not get much sleep that week
Shame on them

During our stay at Occidental Caribe from March 3rd to 10th, my husband, our two daughters aged 8 and 10, and I encountered some notable experiences. Upon our late arrival at 12:30 am, we were greeted by a bustling lobby akin to a nightclub, filled with over 50 jovial students enjoying loud music and drinks. Curious about the commotion, we inquired at the front desk, where we learned, in somewhat broken English, that it was holiday time for students. Escorted to our room, 5407, we discovered only one king-size bed for the four of us. After voicing our concerns, we were informed that due to the hotel's full occupancy, no alternative accommodations were available at the time. We reluctantly accepted an extra mattress, resulting in one person sleeping on the floor and three squeezed onto the king bed, far from ideal. The loud music outside our balcony persisted until the early hours, further disrupting our sleep. The influx of over 800+ spring breakers, including fraternity and sorority members from rival schools, added to the chaos. We observed the removal of breakable furniture and an increase in security presence, wielding batons. Surprisingly, we discovered that Occidental collaborates with companies like SpringBreakU, Go Blue, and Student City to host such events annually, a fact we wished had been disclosed prior to booking. Despite our continued requests, a suitable room was not available until the fourth day of our stay. The eventual upgrade to a clean room with two double beds on the quieter side of the hotel provided some relief, although a malfunctioning deadbolt left us feeling uneasy. Regarding amenities, the buffet left much to be desired, with the only consistent offering being omelettes in the morning, albeit after enduring long queues. The quality of other dishes was subpar, with bland fruit and crumbling cereal. Thankfully, the à la carte restaurants provided better dining experiences, particularly the Japanese restaurant, which stood out for its food and ambiance. Unfortunately, illness struck, likely due to the food, with my husband falling ill on the fourth day and myself and the children experiencing symptoms later in the week. Despite these setbacks, most staff members were friendly, although language barriers occasionally posed challenges. Entertainment options, such as the nightclub and beach parties, proved excessively loud and unsuitable for family enjoyment. We opted to avoid the resort at night to shield our children from the rowdy behavior exhibited by the student guests. Despite the disturbances, we appreciated the ample availability of beach and poolside chairs, as well as the well-maintained beach and pools. However, the unruly conduct of the student guests marred our overall experience, leading to feelings of discomfort and concern for our safety. In conclusion, while Occidental Caribe offers potential for a relaxing family getaway, the influx of spring breakers and the associated disruptions detracted significantly from our enjoyment. We hope the resort takes measures to disclose this type of events to ensure a more family-friendly environment in the future. -Danielle
College spring breakers invasion that ruined our vacation

This was a very disappointing trip to PC. The staff make you feel like you are bothering them, no smiles or greetings. Alot of staff don't speak english or french only spanish. They get frustrated if you don't understand them. I paid for premium thinking I would get better services since I paid over 1000$ US more for the trip. But this premium level is definatly not worth the upgrade. The food is ok but not great, they seem to rush you out by bringing in sometimes your entree and main course at the same time. The main issue we had was the extreme noise and parties from the college spring breakers that booked over 90% of the hotel. The entertainment was solely for them and since there are only 2 pools the pools were full of college spring breakers drunk, noisy, and disrespectful of other guests. Breaking sand castle that some guests had made with their children, vomiting at some places, being extremely loud and screaming in the hallways at 4am. No security of supervision of staff. Nobody did anything to control these annoying people. I came to PC to relax and enjoy some time with my teenage daughter. This was anything but relaxing. This is the first time, I was actually counting the days to get back home but this was so unpleasant. I understand that it's spring break and American college students love to go to Punta Cana but this was completely crazy and out of control. They were rude and that staff disdn't seem to care to do anything. I would NEVER go back to this hotel again. I have been to PC 7 times and this was the worst visit ever. I would of had a better time almost anywhere else then there. Premium is a real joke, room very basic, you get a la carte meals everyday instead of 3 times only, but the food is not great anyways, you get a private breakfast and lunch places that is always the same foods and very plain, nothing fancy. So a total waste of money.
