Hello we were part of a party of 8 people, four couples staying from Tuesday 3/30 - Sunday 4/4. The hotel location and the beach itself was very beautiful. A majority of the hotel staff was trying to be accommodating but they are severely understaff and the people that are working have an attitude problem. You get service at the sister resort beach-house. When ordering drinks or food thru their butler service be prepared to wait 30-45 minutes. We were a large party and required tables to be moved at restaurants to accommodate all eight, every time this was met with eye rolls, or frustration from the staff. We had an oceanview studio room, the room itself was clean and the balcony is beautiful. The view of the ocean is very limited from the room we were staying in. They also need to get better at the water aerobics portion, the night activities and parties were very fun. I wish the service would have been better was the only disappointing part of the trip. The people outside of the resort provided better service, we visited the conch shack and downtown area, highly recommend.

Made reservations at the Alexandra resort for 2 families with 9 people and 3 rooms. Start from the beginning with when we entered the room. (See pictures). The bathroom is very old and outdated. The tub had rust and was pulling apart. The bathroom wall had unfinished drywall. The outside balcony had open electrical wiring where the light was removed and never replaced. We could not turn off the hall light and called maintenance. They could not figure it out either. The maintenance person removed the light, said he was coming back. We leave in 2 hours and haven’t seen him since our initial call 6 days ago . On the beach. I tipped “Forty” (beach worker’s name) $50 on the very first day to make sure we would get good care. He said I got you man. The next day I go to the beach at 8am to get chairs. No one is there. I see Forty and ask for front row seating. He says “no man, you can’t have 9 beach front chairs”. Really, no one is here. I tipped you $50 yesterday and this is what I get. He also was supposed to talk to us about a private boat rental as he said he could help. Never heard from him about this except when he got mad at us for arranging a private boat with Caicos Dream Tours (GREAT COMPANY) directly and he didn’t get a spiff. Also on the beach... islander getting high right by my family in front of resort and harassing my 19 year old daughter and wife. Resort personnel right there and did nothing. Just what you want... a stoned person talking junk to your female family members and no help from the resort employees who are right there. We immediately left the beach. The resort Hobie Cat was not available for 3 days as they said wind was too strong. Yet the other resorts had their boats out on the water except for 1 of the 3 day windy period. Breakfast buffet was good. Black rock restaurant and Fish deck were ok. Menu never changed. Was the same menu every day. Sometimes the service was good, other times the service was horrible. Food took forever to be delivered. If you asked for off menu items like a plate of fruit, be ready to wait a long time. One time we asked for a 2nd plate of fruit and was told “no, I brought you one already.”Took 40 minutes to get a glass of wine. Also there are only 2 wine options. One red, one white. The 24 hour snack station had apples, some chips, and stale breakfast muffins from the morning breakfast buffet. A JOKE. Violation of security. The male workers must have known my teenage daughters and their friend were in the room alone because they walked in several times without knocking under the pretense of servicing the room. One time catching one of my daughters completely naked. Called the front desk and no one would answer and it said the voice mail was full. Finally we ask for a late checkout the night before we leave and were told “it looks ok, call us in the morning”. Call the next morning. “No, we have people coming.” Amazing!!! All of a sudden in less than 14 hours people have booked flights and made reservations at this resort. On the positive side our maid was a very nice lady who kept the room very tidy and clean. Thank you. $13,000 mistake.

Beautiful beach, comfy chairs, but the butler service the resort claims to have is HORRIBLE. The servers are rude, skip you if you are not in. A large group and very impatient while you are ordering. We were we’ve tipping well so not sure what the problem was. Actually , the service throughout the entire resort was similar with the wait staff not seeming to care or pay attention to the guests. Would not recommend this resort.

A Great Time At The Alexandra

I did a LOT of research prior to booking at the Alexandra and read almost all of the reviews, both good and bad. I'm not sure if many of the less than stellar reviews are due to Covid restrictions that have been in place, but I found that many of them were unfounded. Rooms: We went as a family with nine guests. I booked us three rooms; a 2BR Suite, a 1BR Suite and an ocean front studio for my wife and I. We all found that the beds were comfortable, the rooms kept clean with daily service, daily restocking of the fridge with soda, beer and water, I put in a special request for extra coffee to be left every day along with half & half and almond Milk for my wife--these requests were met every day without fail. Plenty of towels left every day. Beds very comfortable. Staff/Service: From what I understand, our stay represented the first week where the staff was back up to full capacity after covid restrictions had them on reduced crew. They were all extremely attentive and yes, while sometimes it took longer than usual to get food or drinks service, it was no worse than any other island we have been to that operates on "Carribean Time". Otherwise we always had great service. Here's a tip: Try tipping--you'll be amazed how far it goes. Resort: The resort is beautiful. Well maintained, lushly landscaped, plenty of chairs at the beach or pool, towels available, wandering food and drink service (again, tip well and they'll never forget where you're sitting) and music was fun. There are snorkels, kayaks, SUP's and sailboats for you to take out with no problems. Of course, it's all about the beach and the view of Grace Bay, which is just stellar. Food: Here is where I had to give this resort 4 stars instead of 5. Not that the food was bad--most was fresh, tasty and resort-typical. The problem I has was the lack of different dining options especially for dinner. Breakfast is easy and there was always lots of variety at the buffet. Lunch is easy because we found that if you just mix it up and order a little of everything, lunch didn't get boring (especially if you get conch fritters with everything-Yum). Dinner however, lacked variety. With three restaurants on the property but only two of them open on certain days, it was difficult to avoid doubling or tripling up at one restaurant or the other during the week. More unfortunate was the restaurant you end up at the most (Blackrock) did not have a large menu with lots of options. Still, I can't complain about the last of anything and if you like jerk chicken, the grill has some of the best I have ever had for lunch. Overall, we had a great time. Very happy with the staff, service (we miss you Lettuce and Forty) and cleanliness and we would definitely return.

Been back to TCI 16 times now and Alexandra is better than ever under the management of Vianel. The entire staff are amazingly friendly and go out of their way to give you a friendly good morning and make you feel welcome. Wesley is always effervescent and Teresa is so sweet.
