The most important traits of a good vacation are: comfortable room, good beach/pool area and good food. This resort has some room for improvement. Pros: The rooms and beds are comfortable and a decent size, with two closets and many drawers. The linens are clean, soft, comfortable and appear new. The decor is pleasant. Housekeeping does an excellent job. When we arrived several things were broken or missing in our room; they fixed them right away when notified. The sand really is as white as the images! The food is good (not great). We enjoyed the live music, especially the violin player and the steel drums. Patios are spacious, though only two chairs each. We enjoyed the cactus gardens, birds and iguanas roaming the property. Cons: We did not expect the wind in Aruba to be as relentless as it was. The waves at the beach are manageable, but not pleasant for a relaxing swim. Weather was mostly cloudy and muggy for the week. There is a lot of trash on the property: cigarette butts, wrappers, lime/lemon wedges in the sand, and people leave their drink cups all over the place (even under bushes). Just south of this resort cluster is a beautiful public beach that is less crowded, cleaner has calm waters to play in and trees for shade. The room had mosquitoes in it and they also hung out on our patio (a citronella candle is in the bathroom that you can put outside). The resort was crowded, including the dining and beach areas. Not all guests wore masks and hotel did not enforce this. For breakfast and lunch the only options are buffet dining, which was also sometimes crowded. We spent a lot of time standing in line for food. You get a little beeper that goes off when your order is ready; we noted that these are NOT sanitized between guests, but they should be, since you are about to be eating. Orders were incorrect some of the time, possibly due to language barrier. Chairs were sometimes dirty/sticky. I was once given a water glass that had someone's lipstick marks on it. Dinner restaurants all require reservations, which are not always available. Concierge messed up our dinner reservations twice (put wrong times). Concierge also assisted us to rent an ATV to explore the island, but they ordered the wrong one (needed to be exchanged to fit our family). Birds are in the buffet area and twice we left our plates to get drinks and returned to find birds standing on the table eating our food. There are 4 Divi properties together. One has laundry machines, but no quarters, have to go to the golf one to get quarters (why wouldn't each front desk have these?). No hotel shuttle, taxi is $28-$30 to/from airport. Pillows were thin and firm. Pools close at 7pm, so you can't swim in the evening. Each time we got beach towels from the towel hut we were made to feel bad, like we were stealing towels or something. Mostly the reason we would not stay here again is that it was loud and crowded. This is a place you'd go for partying and drinking. We had trouble sleeping due to someone's stereo. We called the front desk and they said others were complaining about the same thing, but they were unable to locate the noise source. Every night all night long we heard a stereo thumping. Three mornings between 5-7am we were woken up by employees arriving with their car stereos blasting (the employee parking is right next to guest rooms). One morning we were woken up at 7:30 by an employee with a leaf-blower. One night in the middle of the night a random drunk girl sat on my patio talking on her phone. Activities: There is really good snorkeling a bit north of this resort. If you ask, they will get you a taxi (we paid $20 each way). You can borrow fins and snorkels from the water center. There aren't SUPs available, we had to rent from a vendor. We rented an ATV to explore the island, which was fun.

My girlfriend and I had a great stay at the Divi All Inclusive. The rooms were updated, bathroom was modern and the balcony looked out at the beach. The Staff was great, especially during covid they all had masks on, and the restaurants were actually really good. Didnt mean one staff member that wasnt kind and accommodating, cant wait to come back.

I will start with positives and neutrals: Great beach! Really long stretch of gorgeous sand. Good for both little kiddies and those who like to swim without touching the bottom. Rooms are of typical size and layout. The cleaning staff is efficient. We had a maintenance issue in the room and a staff person showed up within 10 mins and took care of it. The water center staff is nice and helpful (Mark, Jimmy, Jason). Now for the bad: No life guards in pools. If you have kids, better watch them yourself. Most of it has to do with food. First the buffets where you will have your breakfast and lunches. The buffets tend to have the same food day over day and the choice is fairly limited and unimaginative. Yes, you can get a hot dog or a burger or a pasta, but I was really hoping for more variety. Note the Tamarijn buffet was better relatively speaking than it’s Divi counterpart. Many dishes in the buffets are just not tasty Long lines at the buffets were extremely annoying. By the end of lunch, some of the food options were gone. Sometimes, poor service. Example: “Could you please bring me a beer?” “Not until everyone at the table is seated” Veggies and fruits are not high quality. The restaurants: Reservations are required to go anywhere other than the buffets for dinner and you do want top avoid the buffets. They need to be made at the concierge desk by the reception. There typically was one person there who also was selling all kind of tours and other extra $ stuff. As a result, the wait was often 10 mins or more just to get a reservation for dinner. Divi has a mobile app but they have not though of letting the guests book through the app. The service is very slow. On occasion took the staff >30 mins to even take the drinks order. The food quality is uneven, with some dishes being pretty bad. Overall Paparazzi and Ginger seem like the better options. Bars Only cheap alcohol. Dont really make most drinks from scratch but from premixed. Don’t expect to get a good monitor here. But at least this was one place where the lines were not long. Other stuff: The rock climbing wall was closed. Tennis courts do not have sign up, so come and wait in line. The towel hut was out of beach towels on a couple of occasions. The shade on the beach becomes very scarce very quickly in the morning. Shuttle between Divi and Tamarijn runs irregularly, at worst waited ~ 10-12 minutes. Hobbie cats were not available due to high wind. COVID stuff. The staff is all wearing masks. For guests, masks are required in some indoor areas and around reception. There are multiple hand sanitizing stations installed around the resort. One thing that I actually found very annoying was their insistence using hand sanitizer before entering the restaurants. I prefer to wash my hands rather than get the remnants of the sanitizer on my food. Tables are sanitized between guests. If you order food that need preparation, you get handed a beeper which will let you know when you order is ready for pickup. I have not seen them sanitize those which I found more concerning than if they had not sanitized the tables. The COVID testing facility is located close by and the results took about 24 hours to be ready.

Just returned from a fantastic 5 nights here and can’t wait to return! We had an ocean view room and woke up every morning to perfection. The room was cleaned while we had breakfast at the make to order buffet where service was always excellent! Palapas, towels and rafts were easy to get every day. We found a great spot on the beach across the way from our room and pool, near water machines and ice machines and the bar, which also served a quick and delicious lunch menu daily. We moved the grilled ham and cheese paninis served in a cute box to take back to your spot on the beach. Bartenders were friendly and accommodating! In the evenings we popped over to the casino across the way for an hour or so and then had dinner at one of the restaurants at Divi or offsite. Reservations on property were a little tough to come by, but the buffet is always open and very good. We tried Paparazzi at the which was good. Offsite, we absolutely adored Giannis and will go back every time we visit. One of our favorite days was renting the Jeep from the Hertz counter at Divi and heading off-road to see the other side of the island! So much fun! Hertz was helpful with a map and app recommendation to lead the way. Covid testing was a breeze and travel to and from also super easy! I can’t say enough about the excellent service at every step of the trip! Airport taxis are cheap and easy to get. Definitely plan on arriving early for your departing flight as customs lines were quite long.

    Vacation at Divi All Inclusive

Aruba is beautiful and Divi All Inclusive was a nice place to stay. The only reason I gave this all-inclusive resort 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is because of the "all inclusive" description. We have stayed at all-inclusive resorts in 7 different countries so my disclaimer is that compared to other experiences we spent more money on our Divi stay but had less royal treatment than we've experienced in the past at other all-inclusive resorts. Divi All-Inclusive does not have room service for in-room dining. The mini fridge does not come stocked with anything. No soft drinks, beer, nada! There was not any nightly entertainment shows or programs scheduled for the guests during the evening. There is 1 breakfast option which is the buffet. I asked for a mimosa one morning and was told they only have mimosas on Saturdays only! There is not pool or beachside service. If you want something to eat or drink while you lounge you have to go get it yourself. We are self sufficient people but again, at other all-inclusive resorts we've stayed out the service provided was truly "all inclusive". The staff at Divi and the bar tenders were friendly and smiled but almost seemed shy. The resort was clean, the pool was clean, we had a beautiful directly of the ocean from our Ocean View room which was better than other resorts that claim "ocean view" and give you a little slice of a view of the ocean. The resort was a great size for us- not too big and not too small.
