I just returned from a 3 night stay at this beautiful resort. Danny at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Marilyn at 1609 was top notch. The food was amazing. However, we had dinner at Marcus which was very disappointing. We ordered a tomahawk steak. When it arrived it looked delicious. It was cold. We did not want to send it back and draw any attention to us. We ended up giving it away to the couple sitting next to us.Our server Jonny was very attentive but we didn't want to return the food to be "fixed". The next morning we went down to Crown and Anchor for breakfast. We said we would like to have the continental breakfast so they seated us and said go over to the buffet and take your food. We went over and took food from where we saw other people taking food from. When the waiter came over he said we noticed you ate from the hot food so we charged you for the hot buffet. Never once did someone say that we were only supposed to stay on a certain side. He could have approached us and say something before we ate the food. There should be signs or set up the food differently. Overall this was a great resort but our dining experience at the two restaurants was disappointing. Lindsay L.

We stayed at the Hamilton Princess for our Babymoon over Fathers' Day weekend and couldn't have been happier with the ambiance, accommodations, service, staff, and location. No doubt we will return to Bermuda and stay here again. In every category we had at least one encounter where the staff went "above and beyond" and that really makes a difference in the experience overall. Value/Price: Bermuda is expensive. To get here, to stay, to eat, and to get around. Just know that going in & plan ahead so it isn't a surprise when you arrive. We looked at a number of hotels before booking and found the Hamilton Princess to be by far the best value in terms of what you get for the price. This was confirmed as we explored other areas of the island - hotels charging as much or more per room were in less convenient locations and had less amenities. Also at the Princess, wiith a fridge in the room, we were able to buy some snacks and beverages at the local market (still expensive but less so) which was important for someone who eats as much as I do right now (7 months along). Above & Beyond: The reservations staff worked with us in advance to ensure we could bridge our reservations together (I had to book it as 2 separate as I was using travel points for part) and they made sure would get the kind of room we wanted for a very modest upgrade fee (which was not available using the points). Grounds/Amenities: Beautifully maintained grounds, never once did we notice any part of the hotel looking unkempt or messy but it was also not cold/uninviting as some other upscale properties can be. The pools were both really nice and had plenty of loungers, towels, etc and the shopping on site was as good as the shops in town. Beautiful environment to spend a day lounging, swimming and relaxing. Above & Beyond: The towels are warmed for evening swims, very good quality and they're just out there for use. I know that sounds silly but I've been places where you have to sign over a vital organ to use a towel and it was nice to be trusted like adults with adult appropriate towels and to be able to use 2 when we wanted. Rooms: We opted for a Deluxe room with a harbor view in the main building; it was newly renovated and really nicely finished. Beds were very comfortable, shower was awesome, lots of space in the bathroom and closet for clothes and toiletries, etc. The balcony with the lounger and dining table was such a nice bonus. Above & Beyond: Kai, our service professional, made the room feel like brand new every day and was so pleasant, welcoming and helpful. Location: Here's the thing about Bermuda. You either stay in Hamilton and can walk to restaurants, shops, ferries, etc but you're a 20 min drive from the beach, or you stay by the beach but you're a 20 min drive from the shops and restaurants. (Disclaimer, I cannot comment on St Georges because we did not make it up that far so I have no idea if they have beaches nearby or not). We preferred staying in Hamilton and will again next time we visit, as we ate out/walked around town every day and only went to the beach 2 of 4 days - one of those trips we took the free Jitney from the hotel so it was quite easy/convenient. Above & Beyond: There was always a cab available to take you wherever you needed to go and umbrellas to use in case of rain. The staff make you feel welcome every time you return to the hotel, it's just a nice touch. Beach Club: Speaking of the beach. The private beach club at Sinky Bay is really amazing. We spent an entire day there, there were plenty of loungers (though being on the first Jitney we got a front-row spot!!) and all had umbrellas and you never felt cramped together. The bay is beautiful and calm and you can swim and float and kayak and swing in hammocks and it was just delightful. Even the bathrooms were really upscale. We kept remarking we'd never seen such nice bathrooms at an outdoor beach club!! After seeing Horseshoe Bay and some of the other more popular public beaches it made us appreciate this set up even more. Above & Beyond: When the return Jitney we wanted to hop on was full, they called us a cab free of charge so we could get back to the hotel instead of waiting for the next Jitney. And, they passed out free frozen smoothie treats throughout the day! Food: We had two breakfasts and a dinner on site (1609) and found the service to be wonderful and the food to be very high quality and well prepared. My SO is notoriously picky when it comes to dining out and he only had good things to say. We never had an issue getting a table. Above & Beyond: The evening of our arrival, the Room Service staff brought us a little slice of cake deocrated with a stroller, bottle and other baby things to say Congratulations on our Babymoon! It was such a nice surprise and the cake was delicious!! What made this stay so special was the consistently warm hospitality from every staff member we encountered. You can tell they really care about their guests' experience. We can't wait to return!

The hotel is lovely, Bermudians gracious people, we arrived at hotel at 2:30 waited until 545 for our room, no one offered us even a cocktail. Front office manager Niki blank facedso I sitting, we booked thru Amex the so called upgrade we lost an afternoon for looked at roof top, I insisted better service, second we were moved to an upper floor beautiful room that took until 6 pm, finally John another front office manger came thru our room was lovely, bigger issue housekeeping is insufficient for hotel size our room was never cleaned until 5 pm. We couldn’t relax unwind and that was so troubling hanging around lobby wasting time ! I’m hopeful new owners realize the disservice they are to quests by cutting staff

What's there to say - the property is beautiful, super close to NYC and everyone is super attentive. I never realized the restaurants were curated by Chef Marcus - we at at Marcus' or 1609 every day for 4 days straight. Do yourself a favor and order the catch of the day at Marcus' for dinner in the miso broth. Also, make sure to say hello to Les and Lloyd. Some of the best guys that were super helpful, and made the trip even that much more enjoyable. Cannot wait to see them again for our next trip in the coming weeks - everyone just cares and wants you to relax and have a good time. Room was amazing, if booking make sure you book a terrace.
