We read all the reviews prior to booking, we just returned and I would not call the hotel old, I would call it Classic, nothing was broken or dirty or old. It was Very Clean, filled with marble, water features and really fun. It reminded me of the Disney Contemporary resort in shape. The service was Fantastic! We saw Fonzy, Oscar and many other mentioned and they were fast and friendly. There were closed restaurants, but that was Covid, not the facility. They had a Mexican Show outside to make up for no shows inside, and lots of choices in eating, there were at least two sites open every night. I ate at the Japanese restaurant and we had sushi and steak and it was really good, in fact my steak medallions and mashed potatoes were top notch, we thought the steak in chili sauce was good, but not great. (this was a personal opinion). You can order a second meal if you don't like it. The cowboy themed restaurant was fun, and I loved the steak there too. Some complained the drinks were weak, but who cares? You get as many as you like for free, and it is HOT there so staying hydrated is good. The room air conditioning was not perfect, but we figured out to close the blinds all day and open them at night and that kept it cooler, but it never got below 69 in the room, which was perfect for me, my husband prefers 60, but he slept perfectly without a cover and the beds were great. Honestly we would go back without a doubt, the deal was a DEAL, and unless you are picky and like high end, then pay more somewhere else. Oh, and the Sea Turtles laying there eggs at night on the beach were a dream come true, just stay your distance and dont step in the nests on the beach when walking around.

We just returned home from our recent trip to the Golden Parnassus and despite what some other recent reviews have said, we have nothing but good things to talk about regarding our stay! While there were a few minor things that could have definitely improved the experience (more restaurants being open, updated rooms, and more to do at night time) the staff and service we received made up for any problems there were! Most of the ‘problems’ we could think of were related to restrictions placed due to COVID, therefore were not the resorts fault and we overall felt that they were handling the whole situation excellently! The food at the restaurants that were open was delicious, the bar service was great, and the overall atmosphere was something we will definitely remember! I want to especially shout out the entertainment staff (Martin, Eli, Rosie, and anyone else who’s name I’m forgetting) as well as the awesome bartenders including Jesus, Fonzy, and Carlos who made everyday so much fun and made our trip so enjoyable! Like I mentioned earlier, the rooms could definitely use a bit of an update, but not much time was spent there anyways so it really did not affect our stay at all. This was our first time staying at a smaller resort like this, and the size alone will definitely be one of the reasons we will be coming back. Everyone remembers your names, everyone is so friendly, and every staff member truly strives to make your trip to Mexico amazing! Can’t wait for our next trip to this resort after COVID so that we can see it at it’s full potential??

It's an older hotel with questionable air conditioners so take a fan. The food was pretty good but the drinks seemed a little weak. The staff was amazing every step of the way. If you want a small atmosphere with a kind of personal touch this is the place for you.

Great service trumps any issue that may arise at this Resort.

I will definitely go back. My group had an amazing time, the service was amazing, the food at the Restaurants were above expectations. I can't give enough credit to the servers outside for their hard work.

Positives first. We have been throughout the Caribbean as well as Playa del Carmen an Riviera Maya many times. This resort had the best food we have encountered with one exception. Sumo Japanese restaurant was terrible in both service and food quality. The menu is extensive but having Japanese words Spanish and english on the menu made it difficult on the waiters. The miso soup tasted like pure soy sauce and the rest of the meal was pretty tasteless. But the seafood Pier restaurant for lunch was fabulous. Do not miss the shrimp cocktail or coconut shrimp. But everything on the menu was great as it was also in the evening. The menu changed to the Shangri la menu and it was amazing. Make sure to try the shrimp and scallop ragout! The steakhouse had the best steaks I have eaten in Mexico. Morning buffet was great and the beef and cheese empanadas shouldn't be missed. Marisol (I believe that was her name) helped us both before we arrived and as we prepared to depart. The front desk and bellman were great also. Not so positive The resort is dated and needs a number of repairs. Out of 6 nites there one of the only 2 elevators was out of service. There was no hot water for probably 15 hours and that doesn't bode well in Cancun in July. The room was large but had nothing on the walls. The bed was like sleeping on concrete, or maybe worse. While resort in Riviera Maya all have a mini bar that is an upgrade here as it seemed was everything else including wifi which is free even in the DR! The lobby bar is small and very limited in resources. I am a diabetic and the only diet soft drink they had was diet pepsi. They did not have diet 7 up/ diet sprite which is a pretty common mixer. Sometimes the bartender had to leave the bar to search for pepsi/diet pepsi 2 liter bottles. The bars didn't open till 11am some days and closed at 1030PM. While the food was excellent we would not stay here again. The rating given for the resort that show it highly rated just aren't realistic given any comparison to other places. We would give it maybe a two star considering the lack of quality of anything other than food. While the people working were nice the service did not earn the accolades provided by other reviewers. The only people I would suggest going to this resort are those going to an all inclusive for the first time. That will insure your next trip will be a great one because most everything will be better than this. We will not return to this resort.
