    This hotel should be a model for what others should strive to be. The location is probably, if not the best, in Cancun. Although there are areas that have been scaled back due to the pandemic they make up for it in other ways. Only those who have been to Ziva pre-covid will notice the difference. Now to what makes Hyatt Ziva our go to vacation spot is the amazing staff. We were treated like gold by everyone we encountered especially by the Tradewinds Manager Misael and our server Viviana, Adrian for the Cabanas, Carlos and Juanita at the main pool, Rubelisio, Jorge and Omar at the beach, and Cesar, Letia, Lydia and Azucena at the Zen Spa. I wish I could remember the names of the ladies at Trea Cervezas to give them a shout out as well. As far as activities there is always something going on throughout the day but you never felt obligated to join. Its just a very laid back vibe which is just the vacation we needed. We’ve looked at other Ziva properties in Jamaica and Capa Can but we just can’t bring ourselves to go anywhere else. This property is managed by someone named Omar and although we didn’t meet I’d like thank him for leading such an amazing team. Until the next time.

    This was our second time at the resort. We actually went back this year to meet a couple we met at the resort in 2019. The hotel staff was amazing and took care of our every need. Even with the whole COVID-19 going on the resort was nice. The biggest changes from the 2019 visit to the 2020 visit were the capacity of the resort being around 30% full and not all restaurants were open all the time. The restaurants were rotated on a daily basis which actually worked well for my wife and me as we tried some new places this year. The biggest downside of this year was the noise. We stayed at the TT swim-up suites just like last year but this year the people around us were obnoxiously loud. We are going back in April 2021 and hope the noise is not an issue again or we will have to, unfortunately, find a new resort for our annual meet up with our friends. Special shout out to the following staff: Emi, the concierge, was an absolute gem and did an AMAZING job whenever we had to contact her. Gustavo, the butler, was on top of all of our needs Isaias, the housekeeper, he was PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!!

    OMG! What a beautiful time my homegirl and I had! We relaxed, did activities, walked the strip, got lost, ate real nachos and fish tacos, and DRANK! The scenery was amazing! We had the swim-up pool and the staff walked around giving us shots, margaritas iceees shrimp ceviche just any and everything. I just needed three or four more days! FERNANDO took care of us! Such a gentleman and LORENA LORENA LORENA such a tiny slim thing BUT worked me OUT on the massage table! Magical hands the perfect pressure

    It’s been a year and we’re back to the DR

    September 2019 we came to Punta Cuna and absolutely loved it. It was such a short trip that we decided to come back and try out a new property.I myself, run a hotel in south Florida, so I was pretty hesitant about traveling to Punta Cuna during these times. I must say the hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the food is unmatched. As I was going to write a simple review about our stay, I encountered a negative review about one of the workers Dario who was as pleasant and respectful as can be. This worker was very professional and was very engaging from the start with our family and our kids in the pool area and the gazebo area as well. Another worker who had a huge impact on our stay was Bladi, he was an exceptional worker and was with us from the very start. We will definitely be coming back next year and hope to see some familiar faces

    Half way through our stay and we’re content with our choices thus far. It’s our 3rd visit and going strong. Love the place and the staff. They’ve taken the right measures to keep guests safe and healthy as we deal with the pandemic reality. However, they could do a better job managing the GYM. Hours are 7am - 5pm with a 15 person max. And here’s where it gets ugly. It’s an enclosed room - so my lady and I wear face masks and appreciate the guests that wear theirs as well. What scares me is how the Ziva’s Personal Trainer does NOT wear a mask nor do the employees who use the facility. So you’ll hear him shouting and his trainees making all these Open mouth noises!! I would strongly suggest Hyatt mandate the use of a face mask inside the enclosed gym! Very much like they do at my home gym.
