    Modern hotel, mediocre service

    Disclosure: I am a platinum member at the Marriott.Check-in at 4pm: Estimated time ~25 minutes. We booked two rooms, one a suite ocean front and one regular room with ocean front. We called reception in advance, making sure we will have connecting-rooms, or at least rooms on the same floor. At Check-in we found out we have two rooms on different floors. Be aware not to fall into the "We will upgrade you to the two bedroom apartment" option... The two bedroom apartment is in the behind building with no ocean view. One room was available, the other was only ready at 6:30 PM. The rooms We received room 1924. Very modern, clean and beautiful. The large porch is really nice with a wide ocean view in front. The room, an accessible room with open shower, the wet floors were dangerous.  We received room 1911. Very modern, a large bathroom, that includes a bathtub and a shower. The bathroom was at the size of the small room itself. The views were towards southeast. The Pools Two pools, one in each building. Very crowded and small. The larger one has a nice touch with transparent walls, as always the W has nice designs. The Beach The public beach is just across the main street. The resort fees ($39) include two sun beds and an umbrella. However, twice when we arrive they ran out of towels, so we couldn't stay for long. The kids were cold after the swim.

    My assistant who is awesome at her job got me a good rate and booked this for me for some RR. When I arrive get 21 questions about my rate and how I got it etc. the basically didn’t want to honor it. So much for relaxation. Then the idiot checking me in forgets my welcome drink, room upgrade for being part of Bonvoy. This brand is getting to be trash and this hotel is an example of why. The guy went back 5 times to “check with the manager” who never stepped outside of her office to talk to me directly. Sounds like a cop out. Bring your attorney when you check in.

    The service from everyone on staff exceeded expectations from the time we pulled into the driveway to the time we pulled out. Even maintenance staff greet you warmly and ask if there is anything they can do to make your stay better. Perfect location with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Pool and beach options also great.

    Great hotel in great location, staff do go above and beyond to accommodate and loved the valet parking. Disappointed the front pool was closed on our first night due to a private function and on the second day due to weather which we understood was out of their control. The only reason for a 4 is that the room was not as clean as we would have expected for the standards of a W Hotel. If back in area will stay at the property again.

    I was lucky to be able to stay for 4 days with a friend who was there on business. The room was quite large and the bathroom was just as big as the bedroom. The staff throughout was fantastic, especially Johann at the pool. My only comment would be that if you are going to encourage guests to opt out of housekeeping to get points, you should have dispensers in the rooms instead of the small shampoo, etc. bottles. No one wants to call housekeeping everyday to get restocked. I really enjoyed my stay! Fantastic location, restaurants, spa and staff!
