Great Anniversary trip

Melissa B on Apr 19, 2024

We came to Hawaii for our 30th wedding anniversary. They had a free service that helped us renew our vows. What an amazing experience! Really loved staying here, so many customs that were shared daily. Absolutely loved staying right on the beach to hear the waves as we slept or just relaxed.

Wonderful experience, highly recommend!

The Reef is a beautifully maintained and centrally located resort. It was our first time visiting and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. I greatly appreciate the gentleman who checked us in and our host Mary and her coworker who were attentive and made sure our rooms were clean and provided us fresh towels and toiletries, always with a smile. Just steps from Waikiki Beach (literally), this resort has great food, fun daily activities, a pool, and a few unique gift shops. I fell in love with Honolulu on this visit and can’t wait to come again. My eyes were filled with tears saying goodbye to this beautiful island and it’s caring citizens. Mahalo and Aloha!

Outrigger Reef Hotel - Had a wonderful experience!

maricelf438 on Apr 15, 2024

I will give this resort a 10 if it is available. Service was topnotch! Rey at the front desk was super helpful from beginning to end. Everyone at the reception from Rey, Ambrose, their Manager and Mhandie (hope I spelled your name right) the membership director, were all very nice, very helpful and really took good care of me and my family. There is a Monkeypod by Merriman overlooking the water - food and service was good. There's a beach at the back of the hotel so it is so nice to walk especially in the morning and afternoon. The first 3 nights, my husband and I went to their bar where there is free Hawaiian music everynight - we enjoyed that very much. The only thing we didnt like was the person accepting reservations and taking you to your table. The first night, we sat down and she asked us if we had reservations - we said no because we didnt know so she let us sit. Second night, I reserved with her in the morning. When I pointed to her the empty table I prefer, she said oh that's reserved. I said to her, but I made a reservation with you way early, which she replied so with other guests in a not so nice tone of voice. Third night she stopped us and asked for a reservation, I said no, so she wouldnt let my family and I in, I said we are going to sit at the bar so she let us in. Yes, her customer service needs to be improved. 4th night we just went out to nearby bars. That is the only thing that marred our otherwise wonderful mini vacation with the family. The hotel has wonderful rooms with a awesome views! It is also close to everything, Waikiki beach is a 15-20 minute walk. There is also an ABC in the premise of the hotel so convenient. I highly recommend this hotel for its service, amenities, location and our stay at a beautiful room with a spectacular view! Thank you Ray, Mhandie and everyone else at the front desk! We will surely come back!

Our home away from home

This was our fifth stay at the Reef and it just keeps getting better and better. We stayed in an ocean front room and it was amazing for watching sunsets every evening. We were introduced to the new Outrigger Platinum Membership and it is absolutely worth the cost. If you plan to visit more than once, do yourself a favour and get the membership. Lots of perks - the Voyager Club for breakfast and afternoon cocktails and appies. We also utilized the complementary pool bed and surf boards included in the membership. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the new Monkey Pod restaurant and the Kani Ka Pila Grill is still an excellent place to enjoy a meal while listen to the live traditional Hawaiian music every night. If you’re looking for a quieter hotel that is just steps away from the action on Waikiki, this is your hotel. We are already looking forward to our next stay.
