We had our wedding reception here 20 years ago. We've been back a handful of times & it keeps getting better. This was our first trip with our kids. Had a great renovated room & awesome views. Due to COVID-19, there were limited dining options, but we made it work. Also, we rented a cabana for a day - well worth it, as otherwise kids only get 2 hour block in pool due to COVID-19 restrictions. Can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Stayed twice in February and April for business and vacation this year. I am a marriott titanium and hilton diamond so I expect certain level of service based on many properties I have visited over the years. Services and amenities at this property is very poor to say the least. Everything seem so darn difficult here. You literally have to beg for anything that other properties you normally receive as an elite guest. A simple request as a late checkout is answered with "ask us on the day of departure!" February trip included rooms with broken sliding doors that forced me to move rooms twice. This week, a room with stained carpet and lizard crawling on the wall forced to move in the middle of the night. So watch out for those little creatures that might crawl under your bed. Although they are rare they seem to find their way into guest rooms. Total mystery how management is running the property. Front desk staff service is all hit and miss, some are helpful but others are totally useless and makes loyal guests literally pissed off. They seem to only care about maximizing revenue from tourists than anything else. Granted this is a resort in Hawaii after all and you will hear lame excuses like we are just busy and rooms are all sold out... Really? But those who have choices and expect loyalties won't be returning.

We were so ready to get out of town and when we finished getting vaccinated we picked Oahu as our first long distance visit. The Sheraton Waikiki is a perfect place to stay if you are going to be near Waikiki Beach. View from room on 25th floor attached. King Oceanfront Room with Diamond Head view (thanks Bonvoy Gold for the upgrade). Only one restaurant open (Rum Fire) which is poolside. Excellent fish tacos with a great view, who can argue with that? Infinity pool was a little cold but incredible to just hang out at the edge and watch the gentle waves roll in, even a couple of turtles swam by. Don’t have little kids anymore but Waikiki Beach is literally two minute walk to the left with a perfect beach for all ages. Good to see that some of the things are coming back, even if limited. COVID precautions were respected, keep that QR code handy at least until you get to your room. Thanks for a great Spring Break!

    Our Favorite Hotel

My wife's favorite thing in life is staying at nice hotels! Her soul is filled with joy and she is sooo happy when we check in! She loves to experience as many different hotels as we possibly can. This year for her birthday, we decided to do a 3 day weekend Stay-cation in Waikiki (we live just down the road). I thought we were gonna stay at one of two new hotels she was talking about earlier, but I wasn't surprised to find out when our Lyft ride was headed back to Sheraton Waikiki again. We've been here several times. We love the Sheraton Waikiki because of their gorgeous views, central location, Rum Fire restaurant/night club, and our favorite, their infinity pool! Unfortunately, there was an incident at the beginning of our stay. As unsavory as it was, the staff was exceptional in their response. Garrett Wong, the supervisor on duty worked quickly to rectify the situation. Ana at the pool went above and beyond. We recieved prompt medical attention at the Straub medical facility on site. None was more attentive and gracious than than Kalasa with security when he checked up on us after we were settled again in our new room. We even got a personal phone call from Hotel manager Jason Kim on Monday, my wife's birthday, with birthday wishes more sincere apologies. When it was all said and done, we left refreshed and relaxed as we always do. The Sheraton Waikiki is STILL our most favorite hotel, and not just because of its beauty, but because their service is incomparable. There's a famous quote that epitomizes our most recent stay here, "When something bad happens you have three choices. You can either let it define you, let it destroy you, or you can let it strengthen you."

HAWAII ADVENTURES #13 - BRADY BUNCH, INFINITY POOL, BALCONY VIEW

Two years ago when I went to Hawaii for the first time I stayed at Honolulu for 3 nights at a hostel. On my final night in Honolulu I walked to the Sheraton Waikiki and noticed the Infinity Pool. I hoped that if I ever visited Honolulu again I would stay at this hotel. When I planned my Hawaii trip for this year I included 2 days at Honolulu. Since I was only staying for 2 nights at Honolulu I decided to "break the bank" by choosing the Sheraton Waikiki. I picked this hotel mainly because of the Hawaii episodes of "The Brady Bunch" however the Infinity Pool was an added bonus. When I booked the room I specifically chose a room with the ocean view. I came here Tuesday before Thanksgiving. What a place to stay for 2 days. Since March I was working from home due to COVID. Seeing a monitor and wall during that time were unpleasant. For my two nights at Sheraton Waikiki I would peer over the view of Waikiki. Just seeing Waikiki from a balcony was the cure I needed to break away from seeing a monitor. At night when you see the lights on the buildings from the balcony you think you're at The Strip in Vegas. When you see the sunrise from the balcony there's a serenity that calms you. You can make your evenings and mornings by just relaxing at the balcony if it has an ocean view. How about the Infinity Pool? As the British would say "Goodness me". Seeing the pool by sitting on the beach chairs there's an illusion of the pool and the ocean. You think at the edge of the pool someone might fall off. The Infinity Pool is great to relax by bringing your drink. Since this pool is meant for adults you don't have to worry about kids. How about the room you might ask? When I booked this hotel I requested for an ocean view. There are other rooms that have views only of the city and not the ocean. Since this hotel is already expensive you might as well pay extra for an ocean view. Having the view of Waikiki Beach with the Diamond Head in the background is soothing. I'm not a hotel connoisseur as when I travel I stay at hostels. If your staying at a big city and have an opportunity to stay at a luxury hotel that represents the feel of the city then do it. My favorite hotel in Las Vegas is Caesars Palace. Even though I only stayed for two nights my favorite hotel in Honolulu is Sheraton Waikiki.
