We have stayed here several times, but visit every year since we own weeks at the residence club next door. The lobby is off the charts. Service is great. Restaurants wonderful. They are not cheap but you get what you pay for. They have a car rental in the lobby and offer shuttle to and from the airport. Whale watching in February is off the charts as well. This is a must do plance

We really our recent stay at Hyatt REgency Maui. It was so awesome to wake up to a view of a rainbow over the mountains. The ocean view from the pool area was also gorgeous. I hated to leave and can't wait to come back!

We enjoyed staying here for several days during our trip to Hawaii to get married on the beach! I loved the grounds and pool and beach. Service in restaurant was excellent but the food was good, not great. I suspect that in full swing, there are alot of families here so probably not so good for retirees or adult couples without children in high season. Hotel was being renovated so not as elegant but will be so in 2021. There were very few people there due to surging COVID during our stay there November 2020. We would go again as pricing is good and staff were caring and attentive.

Overall, a very nice stay that will not happen again as we went early November not long after the property reopened. One of the employees told us that the property was on 15% capacity and we were upgraded to a top corner room (we also had status with Hyatt). One the first full day that we went to the pool, there were only 5-ish people total there. I don't think that the property has ever been that quiet and we just tried to enjoy it.

Worth the Splurge, Great Stay During Covid

It may sound a little bizarre that I'm saying we had a great stay during Covid, but I want people to know that they can travel here with a negative Covid test and have a wonderful time. This hotel was a total splurge for us and I considered others in the area (having never been to Maui before) but I am so glad we chose this one. The property's beauty is unrivaled and the staff was so friendly and accomodating. Some reviews I had previously read are a little unfair - it is the furthest resort from Whaler's Village, but WH is mostly closed right now. And yes, there is just one pool while other resorts may look like they have multiples, but this pool is huge. The fact that there's no adults-only pool isn't a big deal since the pool is not crowded with reduced crowds at this time (Nov. 2020). Upon check-in, we were upgraded to an ocean view room on the top floor. To me this says they really appreciated our business and wanted us to have a wonderful time. Pools are open 24 hours (though towel service ends at 5 PM) and guests at the Hyatt Regency are allowed access to the Hyatt Residence pools and hot tubs next door. Honolulu Coffee Co. was open and a great place to drop in for a light breakfast. We also dropped in to see the concierge and Gael was a rockstar. She let us know what was open, what experiences were a good fit for us, and what to expect. She was super friendly and made our travel experience as Maui newbies that much better. The pool servers were also wonderful and checked in on us to make sure we were all set on food and drinks. The pool is so fun that we spent a bulk of our time there, and the nice thing was that it wasn't hard at all to nab a lounge chair no matter what time of day you got there. The waterfalls, grotto (bar closed sadly) and water slide are a blast. The beach is literally right there (a 1 minute walk) should you want a change of scenery. Another guest saw two turtles when they went snorkeling in the ocean in front of the Hyatt Regency. The penguins in the lobby and the swans/flamingos in the garden are such a delightful feature on this property. We also loved going to Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice right by the pool - such a great treat on a warm afternoon! Lastly, when we checked out they offered to let us keep our towel cards to enjoy the rest of the day at the pool. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in "Resort Row" if I return to Maui in the future. If you're on the fence about coming to Maui and staying here at this time, I hope this review reassures you that you can still have a great trip. Mahalo Hyatt team, and thanks for making all the Covid-era travel anxiety worth it.
