    Had to try hard to not let this hotel ruin our vacation

    For this price and resort fee, this hotel is not worth it. First it is not a resort. The pool is an average hotel pool. But then add the 90s techno music blaring, no poolside drink service and the big screen sports TVs at the poolside bar, it is worse. None of the high end restaurants were open; in fact only one restaurant is open at a time. The dinner restaurant is the pool bar. The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors. Upon check in, the room had two wash cloths, one extra roll of toilet paper and a small trash can for four days With no maid service you would think they would plan better. We asked for maid service and again were left with minimal supplies. You cannot swim in the ocean off this beach at all. We asked and they said it was too dangerous with the rock and undertow. The TV was out when we checked in and it took then 24 hours to fix it only for it to go out again the next day. The internet was down for three days as well. They claimed at the front desk it was an “island” outage but our internet worked at the hotel next door. The traffic in front of the hotel starting around noon is horrendous. You need to add at least ten minutes onto every trip to get through it. I will say the restaurant staff were super nice but the front desk not so much. When we complained about our experiences they said “I’m sorry”. I’m sorry doesn’t cut it for a hotel room at this price for what you get.

    The room phone rang while we were relaxing on balcony after our upgrade up one of the two suites (Mahalo, Ali!) to honor our 50th anniversary celebration. (We are Titanium Elite.) “The bellman is at your door.” There, in fact, were two bellmen with a gift for us, a photo we provided printed out and placed in a lovely wooden frame. Everyone was extremely friendly and hospitable. At breakfast, we were graciously served by Gloria and Harry. The rooms were immaculate, both Room 335 with a direct view of the ocean and the suite.

    The property is such a gem. It’s truly beautiful the employees were so friendly and full of that Aloha spirit felt like we’ve known them forever. The resort has so many beautiful views! Our daughter enjoyed the time in the pool. The food was delicious definitely recommend the poke nachos!!! The resort was so clean and throughout this pandemic we felt so safe seeing how they enforced masks and cleanliness! Cant wait to return!

    At check-in had a pleasant interaction with a Front desk agent who mentioned that I could checkout as late as 8 p.m. because of a deal they were offering for the month. I enjoyed drinks as well as a conversation with Dana at the pool bar. I had 2 other people sharing my room with me. I left room keys at the front desk for them to pick up as we were all on different schedules. When one of the keys were being picked up, the Front desk agent was reading her book, didn't greet my friend with a " Aloha or Welcome!" & sassily asked for an ID. She didn't make eye contact as she looked up the room info and didn't wish my friend a "Have a Good Day or I Hope You Enjoy Your Stay!" I asked to extend my checkout time to 6 p.m. instead of my original 4 p.m. thinking it wouldn't be a problem based on the 8 p.m. check out time I was informed of on check-in day. The Front Desk agent Leilani (same one that was rude to my friend) responded shortly that "because I was paying a certain rate, the extended 8 p.m. checkout time didn't pertain to me." However, she could extend me to 5 p.m. In the end, I got my 6 p.m. checkout, but I felt like she didn't enjoy her job, or care about customer service. I went back & forth about sharing this feedback, but felt compelled to because I am in the industry

    The best hotel in Kapa’a

    I stayed here for 8 months and I was blown away on how beautiful and amazing this resort was. The pool and the torches that lit up the pool gave it an ambience of being somewhere else. The room was very modern and beautiful. The night entertainment and live music is like no other. They only book the best musicians and hula dancers to enjoy your night on property. The staff went over and beyond during my 8 month stay. Ali’s staff was very welcoming from the beginning and as days went by I was treated more than a guest, I was pretty much part of their Ohana (family). To Ali, Leilani, Lissa, Maria, Cedric and Sterling thank you so much for the amazing hospitality. You made my stay very memorable and amazing. I will definitely be back at this property and would only stay at this property when I come back to Kauai. Property: 5/5 Room: 5/5 Staff: 5/5 Parking: 5/5 Entertainment: 5/5 Food: 4/5
