I arrived at the resort and I waited in line. I immediately noticed that COVID-19 protocols were in place to keep everyone safe. There was social distancing and everyone working there wore a mask. I was next in line, but someone who was seated was called ahead of me. A little annoyed by that, I asked when Dwyane finally called me up. The matter was explained. Unfortunately, the bad taste was already there and Dwyane didn't help matters. He starts questioning me about my transfer. I reached out to the resort prior to travel to see if I could get transfer service from the airport to the resort. I never heard back from anyone, so when I arrived to the airport, I arranged my own. Well, Dwyane wanted proof of this. Annoying. I hold up the ticket I received from the transfer company and he beckoned for me to give it to him and he wanted to book me for transfer going back to the airport. I just looked at him. He had enough sense to let it go after I gave him the eye and told him I had been traveling all day, at that moment, all I wanted to do was go to my room, take a hot shower and freshen up. I finally get to my room. It was okay. Nothing to write home about. You could tell the property was dated, but it wasn't bad. My room was facing the ocean and pool nearest the smaller beach. I unpacked, locked up my valuables in the safe, took a shower and then went looking for food. This resort is small, so it does not have a lot of food options. The grill at the pool right next to my room was always busy. I noticed on the weekends, a lot of locals flock here. Jamaicans are keeping this resort in the green. Couples from all over the island were there Friday through Sunday. By Monday, it was a ghost town again. We were all American from different pockets of the country, but mostly the east coast. Normally, during this time of the year, I run into Canadians and Brits from across the pond when I travel to the Caribbean, but COV ID put a stop to that. Not one soul in sight. Highlights of my stay: Beach The beaches are very clean and well maintained. Excursion I did the snorkel excursion through the property and when I say this was the total highlight of my trip, it was. The boat we were taken out on wasn't much to look at it. It did have a glass bottom, but the reef we went to was surprisingly nice. The guide took us for a small coast tour giving us insight on Jamaican life as we sipped on very tasty Rum Punch. The Rum Punch on the boat ride was better than the stuff at the bar! Water Slide If you don't need much, this resort will meet all of your needs. Between the pool, water slide, beach and in-resort excursions, I was good to go. The slide is actually quite fun. I only went down once. It is totally for the brave at heart. Staff For the most part, everyone was nice and friendly. You can tell they are working with a skeleton crew and everyone is trying to stay upbeat as the tourism industry takes a beating from the Pandemic. Here's where everything went left: On the morning of my departure, I noticed that the gift bag I bought at the airport, which included a bottle of rum was missing. I never locked it up, because I never do. I never checked for it during my stay, because the resort is all inclusive and I never needed it. But I was totally shocked by that. I reported it at the front desk as I checked out. I was told someone would be in contact with me. That never happened. To this day. I waited to pen this review to give the resort a chance. Its been 6 weeks. They wont be calling. It wasn't so much the theft, as it was the fact that I never heard from anyone. The bellboy was the only person kind enough to apologize for the incident. He's the only one with some sense. After speaking with a long time supporter of this resort brand and hearing how they treat their employees - firing or laying off people just before they have to pay them some sort of payout - coupled with my robbery experience, I wont be coming back here or any of their other properties, for that matter.

Marlon was so friendly and attentive... he remembered our names and what we like to drink. If we against about about items we wanted to try like beef Patty, he made it happen. He shared so many wonderful things about the resort! It refreshing to go on vacation and be greeted so friendly!

My 10 friends and I (mostly couples ~24 and 25 years old) stayed at Jewel from February 28 - March 5 and loved our experience. There weren't many people there due to Covid so we probably made up a third of the guests. The staff was unbelievably great in every way and would consistently ask us if we needed anything else. They were extremely safe about Covid, providing unopened toiletries and remotes in the room, sanitizing hands when handling equipment, and requiring masks in public areas, which was just the right amount to still feel like we're on vacation but Covid safe. The night club and a few of the hotel restaurants were also closed. One negative was that the wifi was very spotty throughout the hotel. The drinks were all really good and the food was decent, but better than expected for a cheap all inclusive resort. They also had an optional $30 lobster dinner that we were hesitant about getting, but it ended up being some of the best lobster we've had. A few of us also visited the Luminous Lagoon through the hotel which was a great experience (water lights up as you swim through it). Overall would definitely come back.

Excellent beach resort, wonderful & caring staff, very safe accommodations. Highly recommend. We were there during Covid & we felt SO safe. Staff were always wearing masks & wiping everything down. Offered the Covid test we needed for re-entry into the US right on site, so helpful!
