We recently stayed at the Grand Floridian for 5 nights during a family reunion and the only negative I can say about this hotel is that we did not spend enough time there. *WARNING: if you use a debit card to charge to your room be very careful! They take $100 pending transaction onto your account from check in, and then a further $100 pending charge per $100 you spend, we will get the pending transactions removed once you check out! Make sure you have budgeted for this as it caught us out on our Starling card. However we did have additional money in another account as spare* The room we had was on the ground floor in one of the outer blocks. As a family this would not of been our first choice ... however the room was safe, secure and comfortable. The housekeeping was daily and our toiletries were always replenished with the Disney H2O mini bottles. There was a fridge in the room to store drinks etc, although with the refillable mugs as part of our package we did not use this. The pool areas are fantastic and we spent a couple of mornings around the children’s pool area. This consists of slides, a water drop tank and additional water features. On one of our mornings around the pool we were given a family of the day certificate which gave us access to other amenities around the hotel, one of them being a boat hire. We did not experience the restaurants, but did stop at Gasparilla Island Grill for breakfast, snacks and to fill up our refillable mugs. It was quick service and we had no issues with service here. We had problems with our magic bands and went to 3 different cast members to sort it out. This is the only issue we had concerning this result. Being a Deluxe resort we thought when we asked the first time it would of been able to get sorted, however it seemed that during check in the cast member was struggling to understand what the problem was therefore didn’t do anything to try and fix it. By the time we spoke to the third we had a fantastic cast member who would not give up until it was fixed! As an apology we were given additional snack credits on our dining plan. The access to the parks is great with a bus stop for none monorail parks and of course the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. There is also a boat which goes to and from the Magic Kingdom entrance. I would recommend the boat for travelling back from the Magic Kingdom as it is the first stop, however to get to the Magic Kingdom it goes via the Polynesian after pick up. We used our boat hire voucher for 30 minutes on one of the family boats. This was an experience I’m glad we didn’t miss. You are given a map of where to follow and get to see all round the Contemporary and Wildness Lodge resorts (which is great for future visit planning). All in all I would 100% recommend this resort, and we hope to return one day in the future. Although it is extremely pricey it is worth a one in a lifetime visit.

Second time at grand Floridian. Great location. Very clean. Staff is friendly. Kids loved the pool. I do think the resort and rooms could use an update. Starting to look a little tired. Room service is very slow. Breakfast and coffee not available early before seven even on days we could get into park earlier.

Tried to get some beers for myself and wife. Kids wanted sodas. Waited for 20 min without any service. Wasn't even that busy. Disney needs to work on their basics service. They want 200 character. I really dont have anything else to add to a place with nonexistent service. ....................

We had our yearly visit to disneyworld last month for 11 days. We decided to finally stay here at the GF. OMG! I don’t know where to start. This place was magical from the moment we got out of our car. The cast members were beyond accommodating. Especially John who met us in the lobby and made a call to goofy for our adult disabled daughters “ un birthday “. Our daughter was thrilled. There are so many cast members who go above and beyond and just made our stay so incredible!!! The grounds are gorgeous. I was worried that the outer buildings would be far from the main building and restaurants and pools. However, there is really no building that is inconvenient at all. We stayed in the Conch Key building with lagoon view and could not be happier. So beautiful! I have read in past reviews that some people feel the rooms are worn or dated. This was not the case at all for us. The room was perfect! The fireworks can be seen in front of Gasparilla’s with piped in music. The quiet pool was amazing. Our daughter is an adult who is disabled and she absolutely adored the music that is played in the lobby at night. She asked every day to go sit in the lobby after dinner. More people should take the time to smell the roses. Which by the way there is a huge fresh bouquet of roses in the main Lobby of our building there every day. One day we didn’t even go to the parks, we just stayed at the resort and swam, napped and had dinner at the GF cafe which was lovely. I too fancy but not too casual. The monorail is perfect to get right to magic kingdom. We recommend using the boat to come back as it stops at GF first. Mousekeeping was great! We had to make a few calls to have them come earlier in the day so our daughter could nap and they were very receptive. The only glitch we had was an inaccurate charge in our account which was promptly and happily handled by a cast member. I don’t know what else to say other then we will definitely be back here. It was absolutely magical in every aspect!!!!!!!

We had Afternoon tea at the Garden View Tea Room at the Grand Floridian. We had the Cheshire Tea Package which includes The Traditional Afternoon Tea Experience including a medley of finger sandwiches, traditional scone with accompaniments and a choice of dessert with a selection of fruits and imported cheeses. Accompanied by your choice of tea for $50. These was too much food for the two of us and some of it was not to my liking but it was a lovely experience.
