Great experience

Alexandra S (Seattle, Washington) on Apr 11, 2024

I stayed at this property last year and was underwhelmed— I felt the room was well appointed, but it definitely needed a refresh. On this visit, I was thrilled to find that the room was freshly painted and immaculate, with new carpet and no more mildew in the shower. I loved the privacy of our room, which was quiet and peaceful. The beds were really comfortable. Though the resort was 95% booked, it felt quiet and serene and we barely saw other guests. The grounds were immaculate, and there was an empty EV charger next to our room. The restaurant menu was a little limited, but the food was delicious. The check-in was quick, and we appreciated a complimentary lemonade and cookie. Overall, I loved our stay and will definitely be back.

Quiet retreat

MOMOF2B (NEW JERSEY) on Apr 08, 2024

Pros: quite immaculately clean and beautifully landscaped grounds . Service is too notch as is globalist recognition . Beds are comfortable and bathrooms beautifully appointed dark and quiet good night sleep. Great location near old town and many resturuants. Spa amazing and gloablist have acess for day passes and that is a great perk that we took advantage of everyday . Cons: reallly weird layout no real entrance of sense of pulling up to the hotel (located behind a strip mall and aparetment building ) . Pools lovely and quiet but just plain square pool no wow factor . Rooms are large but have a strange scent to them -musty /earthy and we moved once to try and get a better smelling room so if you are sensitive to smell beware . Gloablist breakfast is not great , service is slow and. 5/6 days it came out cold and even coffee was Luke warm. Overall I've stayed at many properties in Scottsdale and this one is definitely an interesting one but if you're looking for a grand luxurious stay this is not the hotel . If you're looking for a quiet retreat where you feel secluded and away from it all this is the hotel for you . Definitely not for kids (there were some at the main pool but they don't even offer a kids menu for breakfast ) .

A great resort but one blemish

cooltraveling2 (United States) on Apr 03, 2024

This is a beautiful property that exudes modern desert living. The rooms are white clean, modern adobe-style that complement the desert fauna. The grounds are expansive with plenty of trees and plants and birds chirping. The grounds are set far in from the main busy road so no road noises. The breakfast is a delicious and a la carte rather than buffet. I’d eat there even if I didn’t stay in the hotel. The service is excellent throughout - great staff and great training! One blemish and it’s kinda a big one. The pool is the central piece of the resort as it should be. But it doesn’t make use of the Camelback mountains in the background like many other resorts in Scottsdale so there are no views. The pool is trying for a Miami Beach / Hollywood vibe with very loud music, very crowded seats, but mixed in with family vibe of screaming kids. There are dads in the pool with a beer in one hand throwing a football in the other to his kids. A huge portion of the pool is filled with reserved cabanas ($300+) which are mostly empty while everyone is crowded in scrunched up seats. This is profits over guest experience. If you already paid over $600 for a room, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth when to go to the pool and are squeezed in with many people while half the space is mostly empty that you can’t access. On a weekend day, some of these cabanas are taken up by locals who reserve the space for big groups for the full day - while guests of the resort are 2nd class citizens. This resort has so much going for it. If it can turn down the blasting music and reduce the number of cabanas (or allow guest to use some without paying $300), despite the lack of a view, I would certainly return.

Peaceful

thesavvysightseer (Portland, Oregon) on Mar 31, 2024

The Andaz made our time in Scottsdale. Despite its location right in the heart of a busy part of Scottsdale, it was quiet, peaceful, and one of the most relaxing resorts we have stayed at. The Andaz is definitely doing things right with the extra bonuses of a welcome beverage, s’mores, fire pits, lawn games, and so much more.

A solid 3 star resort at 5 star prices.

bklalaw (Bakersfield, California) on Mar 30, 2024

There are 5 stars and there are wanna be 5 star. This hotel is a lot closer to a 3 star than five. First the rooms- dark, musky, run down, (we had two in our group each with its wear and tear issues), food-Sloooooooow as can be.. expensive and average at best. Breakfast was a 45 min wait got pancake and eggs for 4 persons. I hope in future hotels can held to a more realistic 5 star standard. This place is a long long long way for a legitimate 5 star.
