This review is about our 10 day trip last year. TRS is a great resort with many qualities of a 5-star establishment with just a couple of minor annoyances. Overall we had a blast, and enjoyed everything the property had to offer. TRS Turquesa is smaller adults only part of the huge Grand Palladium resort that encompasses 4 resorts in total, but you definitely did not have to leave TRS unless you wanted to. Dining, service, and overall quality of the staff was fantastic. We also felt like the price of our vacation was a bargain compared with other similar resorts in the area. On to the details below. Resort and grounds - The resort consists of 2 sections. The original section (buildings 50-52) that is right next to the beach, and was renovated more recently than the newer section. The newer section which includes swim-ups is set back behind the lobby and is about a 5-10 minute walk to the beach. It includes the swim-out rooms. The lobby is very nice and has what is my favorite lobby bar to date. The grounds are beautiful - plenty of palm trees and well groomed. Rooms - The original section consists of mostly Superior Suites. They are nicely sized rooms with comfy beds, nice sized bathrooms, and jacuzzi tubs in the middle of the room. Our room was in this section - building 52, and was right next to the beach with a great view of the beach and the pool. Rooms on the 3rd floor have vaulted ceilings as well. We also visited a friend's room in the newer section and it seemed to be showing a bit of wear, so my advice would be to get a room in the original section unless you are getting a swim-up room. Our fridge was stocked with beer and soft drinks, and our butler brought us full bottles of hard liquor as well. Beach and pools - The beach is a typical beautiful Punta Cana white sand beach, located right next to the Cortecito public beach. This is both a plus and a minus. The plus because there are local shops and restaurants right next to TRS which you can get to by walking on the beach, the minus is there is increased boat traffic and you can occasionally smell a bit of gas if the wind is blowing the wrong way on the section of the beach that's right next to the public beach. There were plenty of loungers and palapas available and no need to play the towel game unless you wanted to be right next to the water. Bali beds were also available. The main pool is nice and spacious, and the pools in the swim-up section are super relaxing. Dining - The TRS restaurants were excellent for the most part. There are 4 TRS exclusive restaurants. Helios which as a beach club style restaurant, Capricho - gourmet, La Boheme - French, and Kusko - a Peruvian/Japanese mix. We liked all of them, but Kusko not as much as the others. High quality food with a nice presentation. Items like lamb chops, good steaks, lobster, duck, sea bass, etc. were plentiful. For lunch, in addition to the above mentioned restaurants, there is a delicious barbeque by the beach, as well as waiter food service on the beach and by the pool. We used room service a couple of times and it was top notch. Surf and turf brought right to your room is a very nice touch, although we heard that lobster on the room service menu was no longer free as of this year. We were not fans of any of the non-TRS specialty restaurants that we tried. Tapas, Hibachi, Italian, and the Steakhouse were all average. It's worth noting that TRS has no buffets, so if one wants buffet style dining they would need to go to one of the buffets in the other Grand Palladium resorts. Notable perk of TRS - TRS guests have their butler make reservations in non-TRS specialty restaurants. This means that you just show up and eat in comparison to non-TRS guests that have to wait in line, sometimes for > 1 hour. This was notable the case in the Italian and the steakhouse. Then again, I wish we would just eat all of our dinners at TRS restaurants. Bars - Another plus of this resort. The lobby bar is top notch with unique drinks made by great bartenders. Fancy mixology stuff. Each pool has a bar, with a swim-up at the main pool and another bar by the beach. Waiter service at the beach and the pool was excellent. Juan at the beach was our favorite waiter and the Baker was our favorite at the pool bar. Good quality alcohol at all TRS bars as well as. Grey Goose, VSOP cognac, 12 year single malt scotches, good rum, etc. Entertainment/animation - Very low key at TRS. They had live musicians at Helios in the morning and the lobby bar in the evening. The main pool had either a small show or low key games in the late afternoon. The resort was basically dead after 9:30. We ventured out to the various venues in the other Grand Palladium resorts after that time. These were the theater, disco, sport bar, beach parties, Hemingway bar, etc. There were also rotating foam parties in non-TRS pools. Other TRS perks (at least that we used) - Free use of the hydrotherapy area of the Grand Palladium spa. The spa was very nice, with a sauna, hammam, ice room, jacuzzi, relaxation beds, refreshments, etc. Also TRS guests get quick rides on TRS golf carts to anywhere on the Grand Palladium resorts. In contrast non-TRS guests have to wait for the trolleys that are on preset routes. Negatives - Resort maintenance issues were unfortunately present. The one big one was 2 full days basically without hot water. They did give us a free couples massage after we complained, but this took way too long to fix. Our friends staying in the swim-up section had to switch rooms due to a non-working AC. The butler didn't do much for us and was hard to track down. A couple of service issues in the restaurants even with good tipping. The animation staff running fun games and parties in the other Grand Palladium resorts seemed disorganized/disinterested at times. Show quality at the theater was below par compared with other resorts we have been to, but we aren't really about the resort shows anyways.

We were trying to get to Punta Cana TRS through the Travel expression. We love TRS, it’s lovely, warm place. This summer we were planning to joy the sun and ocean again there. Our vacation was booked, paid in full and then was cancelled by the travel agency - Travel Impression. So, trip was canceled by travel agency but the agency refused to give us refund. Now we have no trip and no money. So, please be cautious when you book your vacation.

My boyfriend and I went for a few days to relax and getaway from all the stress of the world. The resort was more then we expected! It was slow season and some workers had mentioned that week was low with visitors but we loved it.! Not having to wait for rides, private pools to ourselves outside our building and no waits at restaurants. Luckily, we were also blessed with amazing weather. Can’t forget the friendly and helpful staff! Would definitely go back once covid-19 has slowed down.

Upon our arrival we were greeted by friendly faces and a refreshing coconut. It was a hospitable welcome after a long flight. We were swept away into a golf cart and taken to our luxurious accommodations. We booked a villa suite swim up. It had one bedroom with a separate living room and two balconies. We were welcomed in the room to champagne and a fruit platter. The fridge and liquor cabinet were fully stocked.  The room smelled a bit musty, but that is expected in a tropical location. As for the living room, I have to be honest, It wasn't very comfortable. It had a small leather sofa that was like sitting on a rock. The bedroom was a nice size, but the bed left alot to be desired. Very hard. The bathroom was large with a walk-in shower and jacuzzi tub. The lighting though was terrible. I couldn't see a thing when I was trying to get ready each evening. Our deck straight out to the pool was awesome. Nothing like waking up and jumping right in. The main lobby and other pool areas were about a 5 minute walk away or you could wait at a stop and a golf cart would shuttle you there. The shuttle service was pretty good. We never had to wait too long. Food wise, they need some help. I actually lost weight on this trip, if you can believe it. The lobby bar area had amazing snacks and desserts. The only three restaurants we really enjoyed were the The Golden steakhouse, Bhogali, and Sumptuori. The buffets were awful and Helios was decent, if you could get there before the flies showed up. In regards to activities, it seemed like they had alot to offer at  extra cost. The only free activities we participated in was one of the foam parties, which were alot of fun. A beach party and a Michael Jackson impersonator concert, which was hilarious to say the least. I personally think one of the best attractions of this resort is the spa. What a beautiful place. Pure relaxation. The smoothies and snacks were light and refreshing. We would go just to enjoy the spa pool and ate lunch there most days during our stay. One of the major negative points of this resort is the beach/pool areas. It took us one day and we finally got the hang of it. Guests would leave their rooms around 5/6am and leave their belongings like books, shirts, hats...etc on the chairs to save them. Then they would go have breakfast and around 11am/12pm they would leisurely come out to the beach or pool with their chairs ready for them. Anyone who tried to come out and get a beach chair after they were all saved were basically screwed. I think this is just terrible. The resort really should restrict this from happening. People spend alot of money to come here and then have to get up at the crack of dawn just to know they will have a beach chair. Ridiculous. Also another word of warning, there were quite a few Russians who were vacationing there and they were very loud, rude, and disruptive. They had very little consideration for anyone, but themselves. I didn't realize that Punta Cana is a very popular destination for them or how incredibly rude they can be. Not only were we pushed around a bit, but I witnessed other Americans getting bullied out of various locations. Most were very drunk for what I saw, so standing up for yourself was a lost cause. As for the staff, they were all great, helpful, and friendly. The only issue we ever had with them was the restocking of our room and refrigerator. I had to call a few times and let them know we were out of water and snacks. We spent a week here and overall, even with all the negatives, we had a really great time. Would I come here again, probably not. For the money we paid, I'd expect more options for decent food choices and the ability to sleep in and not fight for a beach or pool chairs. That really is a huge downer.
