The property is amazing, and we received outstanding service. The employees all appeared to enjoy their job and were intent on ensuring we enjoyed our vacation. And we did! We chose the all-inclusive package and a room near the beach. Our butler, Daniel, was always very helpful and worked hard to anticipate our needs. There was a mandatory health questionnaire we had to fill out before arrival in the country. There was temperature scanning as we exited the airport and temperature scanning before we were allowed on the resort property. Once we reached the entrance, our bags were taken to be disinfected. We were then taken to a handwashing station to wash our hands, have our temperature taken, fill out a questionnaire, and disinfect the soles of our shoes. Once this was completed, we were provided a safety pack with a mask, hand sanitizer, and other essentials. Only then were we allowed to enter the lobby of the hotel. This was our second trip to this property. We will definitely come again. Thank you for making our vacation so enjoyable.

I am a business traveler of 45 years and the personnel of this resort are outstanding. I recently stayed in one of there beachfront units. I was graciously allowed the service of my butler Danny who was exceptional. This guy goes over the top for the smallest of tasks. He also takes the time each day to find you and check that your every need Is catered to. I have stayed here many times and have a great relationship with Danny’s manager Cain Monroy who is the ultimate in guest professionalism. If you ever have the chance do not miss the opportunity to enjoy this resort . Bill H. The Wm.H.Co.Inc.

My wife and I recently had a quick 4 night trip to Fairmont Mayakoba. We upgraded to the Beach Area Casita Suite and definitely enjoyed being close the beach, beach pool and Brisas restaurant. The shuttles back to the lobby ran frequently or you could grab a bike for a quick ride over. The food at every restaurant was great, we tried every restaurant except for the Korean Bbq. A special shout out to our butler, Daniel, who was so responsive at making dinner reservations, golf tee times, booking a cooking class or literally anything else we needed. He definitely made the trip that much better. We'd definitely recommend the Fairmont Mayakoba for a great option on one of the best beaches in the Mayan Riviera!

I stayed at Fairmont Mayakoba Nov 7 - 14, 2020 for a girls trip with my mom & aunt - was an AMAZING experience! When I go on vacation, I am generally ready to come home at the end of the trip - NOT THIS TIME! I am so sad to be back in the chilly Chicago Area, but am aiming to return to Mayakoba later this winter - it was that great! As I sit here writing this review, I am comforting myself by wearing Fairmont slippers, using Fairmont hand lotion, & taking work notes on a Fairmont notepad LOL. Trip Highlights At Fairmont: - Water sports: great snorkeling trip (saw THOUSANDS of fish), super fun wind surfing lesson, lovely complimentary catamaran ride - Beach: best stretch of beach in all of Mayakoba. Clear, calm water; charming palapas. - Spa: my mom, aunt, & I each got a massage - we all thought that massages were incredible. I recommend adding the hot stones. There is also a rooftop pool at the spa - spend some time there before a massage - you’ll likely have it all to yourself. - Yoga at the beach: a great way to start the day. Julia was a sweet & skillful instructor - she led intermediate-level classes, which I really appreciated. - Covid protections: I felt reassured that everyone (staff & guests) displayed a high level of adherence to mask wearing. I also appreciated the temperature checks & hand sanitizer usage before entering indoor buildings. - Service: very high level of service & extremely kind staff. Anything you need - just ask & they’ll make it happen. Special shout-out to Alexander who works at the beach. He was a ton of fun - always laughing, cracking jokes, & keeping the booze flowing. Request a chair / palapa in his section of the beach for a good time!! Within Mayakoba: Nature trail: over 4km of walking path in the jungle, which winds through the 4 Mayakoba resorts and a beautiful golf course. El Pueblito (town square replica): check out the church & the Burger Shop. Most of the stores / restaurants were closed when we visited, but I imagine that dining & live music would be a lot of fun here during “normal” times. Hydrobikes: lovely ride through the lagoons & exclusive residences. Boat ride through lagoons: complimentary ~30-40 min. trip throughout all the beautiful resorts. Good bird / turtle / plant watching, too. Saffron: AMAZING Thai restaurant at Banyan Tree. A trip to Mayakoba is not complete without eating here. Within Playa del Carmen: Porfirios: restaurant meets club. Delicious Mexican food, jamming music / music videos, mariachi, champagne bottles with sparklers. Suggestions to make Fairmont Mayakoba even better: -Mangrove smell: there is probably nothing that can be done about this, but the mangrove smell (stench, rather) on the path between the casitas & the beach was super overpowering & gag-inducing. -Communication flow among employees: we encountered several inconsistencies when speaking with employees - this was generally related to what at the Fairmont or within Mayakoba was open / closed. Examples: We talked to the Burger Shop & they said they were open, but the Fairmont staff told us they were closed (they were open - we went there for dinner). One employee told us that La Laguna & the pool next to it were going to open on Friday, but they did not open during our stay. We made a reservation at Andaz one night for dinner, and 30 mins before our reservation, the concierge called and said our reservation was cancelled because they were not accepting guests that weren’t staying at Andaz. We went there the following night and they weren’t busy at all…. I called the concierge to make a wind surf lesson for the following day. I was told that lessons were only done at 2pm & that the spot was already booked. The next day, I went to the water sports kiosk at the beach at 10:30am & they gave me a lesson right away... I made a reservation with the concierge for yoga for the following morning; when I showed up at yoga, the instructor did not know I was coming…. - Breakfast wait time: breakfast on the property was delicious & a generous variety of food was offered considering that breakfast was included in the room rate. However, we spent more time at breakfast than I would have liked, due to slow service / meal prep. Breakfast routinely took 60-90mins; I would have preferred 30-45 mins - want to soak up as much beach time as possible! -Some things not were not open: La Laguna, the adults only pool, & the big pool by La Laguna were not open. I understand that it costs money to operate these areas, but if people are willing to travel during a pandemic, I think it would be a good strategy to have everything open (as long as no health concerns) & deliver an over-the-top experience. -Bikes: loved the bicycles, but would be helpful to be able to take them off the property (but still within Mayakoba). All in all, Fairmont Mayakoba exceeded my expectations and delivered a relaxing, much-needed escape. I will 100% be returning sometime soon - can’t wait!

What a great place! I don’t even know where to start with how impressed I was with this place. First of all, Daniel, our butler was amazing. He continuously checked on us and made sure we had the best experience. He was quick to get reservations and any details we needed. The Korean BBQ is a must, we got lucky and got reservations last minute, but you MUST book in advance. All the restaurants were great. Service everywhere is top notch. The entire staff from the golf cart drivers, to the front desk, to the beach staff, etc etc - all just so friendly. One thing we appreciated learning was how good the Fairmont was to their employees. So many had worked there for years and years. I also appreciated all their COVID procedures in place. They took every precaution you can think of. We never saw one employee wearing their mask incorrectly and some took it further and wore face shields. We also went with the all inclusive package - definitely the way to go. Overall amazing trip! Thank you!
