I would have liked to give this hotel 10 stars, but unfortunately I can't. Cons: 1. The beach is terrible! Somehow Iberostar likes to build their grands on the worst possible beaches. It's rocky, and so much sea grass that it's impossible to get through it. Of course really bad waves. Why not build something to calm down the ocean? 2. There is a lot of whiled life on the property which makes it unique, however I really did not appreciate a snake in my room. There should be some sort of protection on front doors to prevent snakes, however small or harmless, from entering in to the rooms from under or around the door. 3. I lover to sing, but karaoke at 22:30 is way too late so there were nobody but couple of drunk ladies one night we decided to stop by and check it out. I bet if it was offered earlier, would be packed. Pros: 1. Magnificent staff! They try to cater to your every need to make sure that guests are fully satisfied and as comfortable as possible! I personally thank the chef for the sugar free desert and few other things I've requested. 2. Magnificent entertainment, perhaps the best of all the hotels and cruises we've been on. Would be great though If they would start a it earlier to allow karaoke to start earlier as well. 3. Wonderful activity team with Gabriel being my personal favorite. Those guys work all day long, doing pool activities as well as concerts and karaoke. All guys are super nice, engage in meaningful conversation, not pushy, fun and a real pleasure! 4. And of course I can't forget that magnificent 100 meters long infinity pool with the salt water. During our stay if well made up for the bad beach. Lucky for us the hotel was only at 40-50% capacity and we've found plenty of lounging options. However as soon as more guests started to arrive, the lounging became limited. 5. I really have to command the management again for training the staff to be super nice and friendly. Somebody did really great job! 6. The food was very good for most parts. We went to every restaurant at least ones but totally disliked the food in Italian. Burrata was somewhat sour, the salmon was really overcooked and fishy tasting and seafood risotto was overcooked as well. I wish that dinner buffet would have been opened every day. We would really wish that they would hire a killer Mexican food chef to really wow guests with top notch Mexican dishes. 7. The first 4 days we could not stop eating Hamon Iberico because it was out of this world delicious. Tried to find out the exact brand but nobody knew and by the time we got informed that we need to ask the chef at breakfast, they opened another leg which was not as good. But that first leg really tasted like the best of the best $1000 leg. 8. And of course I have to mention the grounds and the décor which I can only compare with best of the best hotels in Dubai. it's truly GRAND! 9. And last but not least, our room. We booked an ocean front on the first floor because my husband liked to jump over the balcony right on to the beach and go swimming first thing in the morning. We did not spend much time in the room at all, however I would have liked a memory foam mattress, like they have in the Grand in Dominican republic. Otherwise not much to complain about. It was very large, balcony with the nice daybed and a swing. All good! 10. I enjoy having a butler, however this time we only used butler's service ones to have my husband trousers pressed. Ones they prepared a bubble bath for us, but told us nothing and we we came back in to the room it was already cold and we did not get to enjoy it. Transportation service was nice, but we also used it only ones cause everything is close by and we prefer to move. With that said, I have no doubt that the management will change few things to make our next stay at this hotel even more magnificent. Hopefully the prices will not double, as we would love to come back again, hopefully no more dates with the local snakes.

We stayed last week in April 2021. We have stayed at several Resorts in Cancun and Riveria Maya areas plus traveled extensively all throughout Caribbean. This resort was the best in quality of food, service, and overall resort. Read some of the comments about rooms are outdated. Not case for us. We didn’t stay oceanfront wasn’t willing to pay $1000 more. Never in room. Room was beautiful and updated. Bathroom was huge. Honestly could increase size of shower and add something to be able to shave legs. Stool provided was annoying to use. Every meal we had was sooo good. Seafood selection at lunch and dinner was always great. Alcohol selection was the top of line. The people that work at this resort are such hard workers and take their jobs seriously. Everyone is always so friendly. I wish I could name everyone but did t write names down. Butter John helped us with our Covid print outs. Towel Concierge Mirna was always smiling and working hard. Gabriel with entertainment was so friendly also. Again I wish I can remember everyone’s name but all staff was the best. We are also beach people and yes it is rocky in front of resort and yes you have to walk down beach to get in water. Yes inconvenient but not resorts fault. They stayed on top on seaweed and you still have your Caribbean blue water. Again this is not fault of resort. Everything went smoothly and we loved place.

We just returned from a 5 night stay at the Grand. This was our third trip to this resort and again it did not disappoint. The service was wonderful, and the staff is terrific. They have all the COVID safety protocols in place and you never felt uncomfortable. We had a pool view suite in the main building overlooking the quiet pool. We eat in all of the restaurants and the food was great. Adriana our evening butler was fantastic, she meet our very need and made us feel at home. Poli handled our daily room service and the room was impeccable every day. Due to COVID the pool bar was not in operation but the staff at the pool was quick to serve and you never had to wait. The theater was not open but the nightly entertainment was done on the observatory in the main lobby and was great. The COVID testing was seamless and very quick, you got your test result at the convention you waited in about 15 minutes and also paper copies in you room for required air travel verification. Major shout out to Mar, Iliana, and Laura, you guys are fantastic! The properties is well kept and even though they are doing some minor painting on some of the buildings exteriors you would not even know it. Overall great trip and looking forward to our next visit.

We were a large group and have booked 8 rooms in total of all categories. and all of us were very disappointed: *Grounds: under construction but still nicely maintained therefore the 2-star rating and not 1-star rating, but that's the only positive. **Rooms: Very outdated and in need of repairs. 4 of the 8 rooms booked had issues with ants on the floor, electric not working, AC not working, hot water not working. The bathroom has mold and fixtures are outdated and moldy. -Villas X 2 - One had ants all over and the other one the AC did not work and they had to be relocated to a different room {Ocen front} which the electric did not work as well at one point and took them half a day to fix the room. -Oceanfront - No hot water on our 1st day took a cold shower. -Corner Oceanfront superior- No hot water for 3 days. { The most expensive of all the rooms} *** Service: Yes, you see a butler and they are very polite and they say I will look into it for whatever you ask, but guess what noting is looked into its all a facade, No one tried to compensate us or to help us with the inconveniences we as a group had to deal with. So all fake smiles but no real service. ****Food: The food was horrible and very low quality. We had a vegetarian member and she practically had nothing to eat the rest of the group was very disappointed to the point where some did skip going to dinner. We have been to many all-inclusive in Mexico and we know that some of all-inclusive do not have the best food but this one was supposed to be the Grand and all of the reviews talk about the food we had such high hopes and such a big let down. The food is less than mediocre. ***** Ocean: In the pictures looks amazing but it was very rough and unswimmable with a lot of seaweed and large rocks. If you are looking for the Cancun ocean experience this is not the place. We looked for better spots as some reviews suggest but could really find none. In short, we would not go back and would not recommend any of our friends go there. You can do so much better for a much better rate. We have been to the following and all of them are better options for all the mentioned above: * Live Aqua **Valentin Imperial Maya. ***Unico 2087

Everything about Iberostar Grand Paraiso was five star. My fiance and I have stayed in a few Iberostar properties and are never disappointed, but this was by far the best experience. PROS: - PEOPLE, PEOPLE, PEOPLE: From the moment we stepped in to the moment we left, we were constantly met with great service - happy people who were trying to make us comfortable. Some people just to name a few, Luis and the team of butlers, Aaron and the "star friends", Gabriel and the rest of the wait staff on the beach and in the restaurants, the front desk staff, the maids, etc. Everyone you passed would say hello or ask if your day was going great. - Beach: My fiance and I are beach people, our goal of the trip was to get to the beach and have as few interruptions as possible. Obviously, I don't consider anyone asking if I need another Coco Loco as an interruption (they were good). The sand is the soft white sand that Mexico is known for, and that keeps me coming back. - Food: The food was good everywhere we went, we ordered room service and it was quick and delicious. The staff at the breakfast buffet and the lunch buffet were great at refilling everything and making things to order (omelets and eggs in the morning, fish and steaks during lunch). For dinner, the buffets were shut down when we were there, and no reservations were required at the restaurants and they were all stellar - if I had to choose I would say the French restaurant was the best. - Entertainment: We did take in the shows at night, and they were entertaining enough and of good quality. We also really enjoyed that if we didn't feel like going to the show, there was generally something more low-key going on in the lobby bar (3 piece band, acoustic acts, trumpet player, etc). Options are the key here! - Grounds/ Hotel: There are about 6(ish) Iberostar properties in the compound, they all looked nice. Being at the Grand, you could use any of the amenities at any of the other properties (I heard people mention a lazy river at another resort). The pools at the Grand are quite large and were enough for me. - Room: I don't spend a ton of time in the room on vacation, but it was clean (which is my only requirement), had the appropriate amenities, was quite large, and had a nice balcony. - Spa: There is a spa on the Grand Paraiso grounds and a bigger one for the Iberostar compound. My fiance was very happy with her massage there. - Covid Protocol: Just enough to make you feel comfortable, but not overbearing. They asked you to wear masks in common indoor spaces, and buffet/ restaurants. Provided Covid testing to get back to the states. CONS (not many, but just to note) - The "Club": My biggest complaint was that there was a bit of high pressure selling related to joining the Iberostar Club. We were asked to go to a breakfast to learn about the benefits of joining the Club, and we decided against going. Without even going, I knew that it was something that I would not be interested in (although I am sure there are benefits to some travelers), we had to explain why we were uninterested a few times before they were certain we wouldn't go. - Pool Bar: Unfortunately, due to Covid, the swim up bar is closed. I'm not a huge pool guy when in Mexico so it was no big deal for me, and they constantly had waiters coming around to take drink orders, so shouldn't be an issue for most. - Seaweed: Some parts of the beach (not most) had some rocks in the water, and some days there was some seaweed. This is of no fault of the resort, and they frequently collected the seaweed, however, at times the water had quite a bit of it (and other days there was little to none). All-in-all, a five star experience all around, especially given the amazing service. I will definitely be back.
