    Relaxing and Worth the trip

    Cancun Airport was much better this time and the private transport went like clock-work. Food quality was very good. We really like the resort offering for few choice of eating venues. The lack of buffets is ideal. All good as far as we were concerned

    This was our 5th trip to this beautiful place. Things were a bit different with the restrictions on occupancy and safety protocols but they did such an amazing job making things feel normal and still being safe. We felt safer there than we do at home by far. The staff are the kindest and hardest working people we have ever met. Lorenzo of the "Go Team" does an amazing job keeping everyone engaged in activities throughout the day, he is so much fun and makes even the simplest games/activities a complete blast. The food and service at the 6 restaurants is outstanding. They also have hibachi in the ginger restaurant that you need to make reservations for in the morning, it was also very good. Breakfast and lunch were great, we ate way too much because everything was so good and the selection was awesome. Naomi at the Le Marche restaurant was excellent for our breakfast and lunch meals. We always looked forward to seeing her, she was so kind and we had a great time visiting with her. Service around the pool bars was exceptional, almost too good, we could not finish a drink before the exceptional servers were back asking us if we wanted anything else, Elio was one our favorites, he was so kind and worked his butt off. We did a cooking class at one of the pool bars that was a lot of fun Arnulfo was the chef and the guy has some great knife skills! Plus he is so much fun and has such a kind spirit. Bottom line, everything and everyone is great here, don't hesitate to give this resort a try.

    Although a few things were different in the COVID era, our fourth trip to the Valentin was amazing as always. Have to say, check in and check out process have actually been stream-lined to limit contact and are much faster and simpler! Hope that stays after all this mess is over. Restaurants were terrific as always. Service was great all across the resort. Exceptional service provided by: Magdiel and Marisol around the pool; Jose at Mar Y Tierra for breakfast; Joel, Wilbert, Saul, Luis and (Fabulous) Fabiola at the restaurants. The resort took a bit of a hit from the hurricane about ten days prior to our arrival. Some of the garden areas and buildings were damaged and the beach really took a pounding. They worked amazingly hard and opened the beach the day before we arrived. It was amazing to see the difference the hurricane had caused! But, the palapas were back up and the beach was groomed and looked terrific. Entertainment was a little scaled back because of COVID, but Lorenzo, Alex, Felix and Jesus were terrific around the pool each day. Made the day time activities a lot of fun, even without beach volleyball and some of the other usual things. As for COVID, they did a great job sanitizing and making sure guests were constantly comfortable and staff was given an opportunity to remain safe but continue to work. Guests are given the choice of masks and some wore them, most didn't. Nice to be treated like adults and allowed to make our own decisions. Had one small hiccup with the room fan (making lots of noise). Made a call to the front desk and it was fixed within the hour. Only mention it to highlight the responsiveness of the staff when issues do arise. For a ten day trip, there's bound to be something that's not perfect, but the fact they strive to correct those issues so quickly and completely really make it perfect in my books. End of the day, this place is and will remain my "go-to" for the east coast of Mexico. Fourth trip and we're already planning on bringing a larger group again next year. Tan's fading already, but great memories still in tact. Thanks for another great vacation!

    Valentin always feels like home

    In this weird year of Covid, we had to wait 9 months to return to the Valentin for our 24th visit.   The Valentin Cares Program is outstanding.  If you’re on the fence about going, just go!  We felt safer here than at home in Illinois.  They ensure your safety from the moment you arrive.  The Bellmen take your bags and immediately sanitize them.  Next, they have you walk up to have your body scanned for temperature and then a mat to wipe your feet.  Miquel greeted us with a big smile and warm welcome upon arrival in the Privilege Lounge.  Check in with Antonio was a breeze.  Antonio is so friendly and always smiling (even through his mask).  We were then taken to our room by Mario.   Mario made sure to sanitize the cart before letting us get in.  We love the Emeralds and were in Bldg 14 room 14202.   All staff are wearing masks and face shields.  I felt so bad for them, but know it was for our protection.  They are constantly cleaning and sanitizing. Breakfast/Lunch: Upon arrival we were greeted by Noemi and Ruth, love her so much!  She makes every moment special for our group.  Currently they have an ala carte menu or you can choose the buffet.  Jesus was our waiter at LeMarche.  Such a great guy!  When you walk into the buffet are there is a sanitizer station right there and you are requested to use it before grabbing a plate.  There are many workers there to serve you food.  The food selections have mostly stayed the same with the addition of the ala carte (I found to be quite good).  We ate at Lemarche for breakfast every day and some lunches with Jesus and Fabio as our waiters.  Special shout outs to Monserratt, Noemi, Jesus, Fabio and Luis! Lunch: We typically choose Mar Tierra for lunch.  Loved being greeted by Monserratt and Mildred!  Our main waiter for the week was Jose as we like to sit outside.  He is truly a joy to see at the Valentin!  We have many friends that work there and they all assisted with whatever we needed.  Special shout outs to Monseratt, Noemi, Mildred, Jose, Jorge and Isidro!  The ala carte lunch is fabulous with such a huge selection. Dinner: Ginger:  This has become my favorite and we ate there 3 times.  Viany is working there now (she worked at Tamansari for years) and we absolutely love her.  Gabriella is great!  Willam makes the best sushi I've ever had.  Getting to see Armando made our trip!  He’s the funniest guy I know there. La Hacienda:  Always great food and loved seeing Big Angel.  His laugh and smile warm my heart every time we go.   La Alsace: Best french onion soup in the world.  Jesus was our waiter and was so good to us. L’Olivo:  I get the same thing ever time I go:  Beef Carpaccio, Salad and Osobucco.  This meal is just amazing and melts in your mouth.    Imperial Band and DJ Jerry: They really make our trip so entertaining. Love dancing the night away with them. Go Team: Lorenzo is my favorite and always brings his dance moves.   Our Friends: Customer Care:  Joselo and Miguel are fantastic!   Managers:  Yolanda and Edgar are the hardest working people I’ve ever seen.  David on his Segway is awesome!  Fabrice and Adrian from the communications team are great!  They always greet us so warmly and we love them.  Shout out to the restaurant managers:  Armando, Monseratt, Noemi, Juan Carlos, Angel, Juan Luis and many more.   Favorite bartenders:  Veronica, Sonia, Alfonso, Abelardo make the best drinks.  Our pool waiter and waitresses Rosa, Marisol and Miguel kept our glasses flowing.   Pool Concierge:  Xochitil was great as our pool concierge and Antonio filled in on her day off (love them both).  Once they’re back to capacity I would love to see Jared brought back to assist Xoch! Beach:  The beach was destroyed after the last hurricane, but they have worked hard to rebuild the palapas.  Bali beds are being built back up now.  We really missed being at the beach, but had lots of fun at the pool with our friends. This trip was mostly for relaxing after this hard year.  We love the Valentin and will continue to come back.  The staff is what makes the Valentin home for us.  Sure, we love the restaurants and the beach but the friends we’ve made over the years is priceless.   I’ve been to many other places in the area and always come back to the Valentin. There are so many more people to give special thanks to making our trip amazing.  We will be back in February to celebrate my 50th and cannot wait!

    I spent 4 days at the resort, we love the restaurants and the bars, our favorite was Ginger and Olivo. We stayed in a Deluxe Junior Suite great option. Thanks to Antonio Concierge, he was so friendly and helpful.
