Good but not Great

This resort is a 5 star but I wouldn’t, give it that good a rating. My first impression was terrible, I arrived in cuba at 10:30 a.m. , the resort about 11ish and didn,t get my room until 4 p.m. There was no storage area for your carry on or valuables, no change area if you wanted to swim or just put on shorts etc. At least we weren’t,t offered any. Like Cuba tho, return guests got their rooms right away . I was pissed because I was beat, up since 2:15 a.m. There were two couples who had returned here 8 or 9 time, astounded me. Getting here you pass at least a dozen nicer resorts. The rooms and buildings were adequate , nothing too fancy . The best part were the maids. Our was Yaneisi and she looked after us well. We were supposed to get beer every day, but it was never there so if I told her she would have the guy there in 10 minutes. If we needed towels she had them. my remote broke down , she fixed it. I hope she and the other girls are all doing well. It was a cool and windy week so not that great anyway. We spent our time at the pool because it was too cool and windy at the beach. this resort is pretty far up the peninsula so you maybe get a lot of ocean wind. The food was good, same old, same old tho. the chinese Japanese a la carte was good, but way too much food. The best part was my chum who sat beside a woman who was pretty loaded so he ended up with rice all over him. We enjoyed the company and the laughs. All in all, I personally wouldn’t,t go back here because there are a lot of resorts in Veradero that I consider to be nicer, but obviously some people like it. So buyer beware.
Amazing!

First trip out of the country in almost 10 years. Paradisus Princessa del Mar is truly a great resort. Great experience for a first timer in Cuba. There is a server named Jacqueline. I believe you can find her at the 24hr bar or usually in the dining hall. Trust me she is the sweetest and one of the kindest on the resort. If anyone deserves ur trips, it's her. Hope ur doing good Jacqueline, thank u for making my stay at the resort amazing!

A Disappointing Experience

We spent two weeks at this resort from February 27 2020 to March 12 2020. This resort is tired and rundown. There was no hot water for the first four days and no wine, We were expected to buy wine. One morning there was no coffee in the dining room. The food is absolutely terrible even in the specialty restaurants. At lunch and dinner, there was an assortment of mystery stuff on the steam tables and the cooks prepare meat to a leather quality. The only meal they do not ruin is breakfast and even then you have to cook the bacon some more. The whole resort needs maintenance and an uplift. There were a lot of amenities which which were not working such as the hot tub. They have done some repairs on the cheap such as patching a roof with two different shingles. On the beach, the lifeguards spend their time in a shack by the bar and pay no attention to people in the water. This is, at best, a three star resort. We will never return and we will actively deter anyone from going there.

Arriving at the hotel we were not greeted by anyone and when I got to the desk to check in the worker complained he was the only one working the desk and that he is always overworked.Instead of checking us in he asked to hold onto our passports until he had time to get out our rooms sorted. Not a good feeling to hand off your passport to someone you don’t know in another country. After checking in we found out there was no hot water or warm for that matter and that lasted for 4 days after numerous complaints. No wine at dinner and was shocked we had to pay for any premium alcohol. First resort in Cuba that when it says it is all- inclusive it’s NOT. Most staff members seemed like they didn’t want to be working there. Evening entertainment lacked. Not enough seating area in the lobby bar. Beach was NEVER groomed in the week I was there so to get into the ocean you had to step over mounds and mounds of seaweed. Food was sub par. I’ve had better at 4 other resorts I have stayed at in Cuba. I will never be returning to this hotel in Cuba. Huge disappointment over all.
