This review is for all the extraordinary staff members who went above & beyond for me & my friends. Specials thanks to Mrs. Amanda, Harriet, Alicia & the restaurant manager who’s name I didn’t get. Thank you also to the house keepers & other staff members for being so nice to us too! The hotel is beautiful. The room with the pool attached is just flawless. The food is great, prices are decent & they have a ton of options! There is a 2 for 1 happy hour with by far one of the BEST Pina coladas ever! For the price of this hotel it’s well worth it. The beach area is a bit small but the view makes up for it. I would for sure stay here again! Thanks again for excellent service!

    So so nice!

Loved this hotel, travelled with our 2 year old. Lovely and relaxing. Amazing refreshing welcome drink, and the rum punch!! Immaculate beach, and hotel grounds. Nice pool lined with palm trees. Hotel room was clean and modern good kitchen facilities if needed. Close to Oistins fish fry, worth going here to eat and open every night of the week not just friday! We had half board and were able to have breakfast and lunch or dinner. Great amount of choice and different every day. We mainly ate at the hotel, the dinners were excellent, so much choice, different theme each day (BBQ/seafood etc). We paid for lunch here most days (pasta/burgers/king prawns/variety of fish) very reasonable pricing. The staff at this hotel were more than happy to help with anything, the ladies in the bar were very friendly and cheerful. Staff welcoming to children, great with my daughter, remembered her name and always spoke to her. Convenience store opposite the hotel was great for Caribbean snacks/drinks, very cheap even had some overproof wray and nephew in there. I walked into Oistins with my daughter a couple of times and found it to be very safe and everyone friendly and laidback. Along this walk I was able to buy delicious fruit from roadside stalls for very reasonable prices. KFC/Chefette/Bars just before Oistins, not far of a walk but it is very hot in the day. Taxi prices are really reasonable. Had a great time here and will definitely visit again one day, thank you for a great holiday!!

LOCATION & ATTRACTIONS NEARBY *** Butterfly Beach Hotel is located on the south part of the island, approx. 20-25 min drive from the airport. It’s just outside Oistins (with their famous Oistins Fish Market). Hotel itself is on the beautiful quiet stretch of the beach. The beach is accessible from the hotel through some rocks, but can be also seen from the sea terrace (awesome views in the morning). Location is really nice. From outside (street end) it doesn’t look that attractive, but when you’re in their restaurant or near the pool, your Caribbean holidays and colours are there. HOTEL OVERVIEW *** Hotel is advertised as a 3 / 3,5* property – I would definitely give them solid, good 3,5*. I was quite sceptical at the beginning (as normally I would book higher standard), but I was absolutely delighted. Hotel has this kind of local atmosphere, decorations, lovely smiling staff and a lot of flowers and greenery around. There are few buildings, some with a sea-view, some with side sea-view. Secured parking (with a gate, security and CCTV) is just outside of the main entrance. Buses and taxis are also stopping just outside of the main gate (you can go to Oistins by local bus or even walk). PURPOSE OF THIS TRIP *** Leisure RESERVATION *** Booked directly with the hotel. Very good communication before arrival. LENGTH OF MY STAY *** 5 nights – May 2019 CHECK-IN *** We arrived after long-haul flight and went directly (we had our crazy yellow bug rented /Moke-type Daewoo Matiz) to the hotel. Check-in was hassle-free and we could rest a little bit. We’ve been advised of the dining options and local area. LOBBY & RECEPTION *** Very colourful and firstly I didn’t like it. But as days went, I started to enjoying it much more than sad grey places in other hotels. At the end I found the colourful scheme of the entire hotel very relaxing and enjoyable. There’s also travel desk with some tour options and a lot of brochures. ROOM *** #304 – Superior Studio It was on the side building, where you could get using stairs or lifts and external corridors. This room was with a side-sea view (and partially less attractive road). Room was very spacious, with a balcony. Designed in a very local, Caribbean style, using wicker furniture and colourful decorations. To keep you cool, you have an air-condition unit, a fan and also you can your balcony open during the night (one window can be left open as it has a security cage too). When you leave your windows open like that, you’d be woken up by many birds singing and sea waves breaking on the beach few meters away. The cars are not disruptive and I didn’t actually pay any attention when they’re going. There was a large King size bed and it was really comfy. A table with some chairs and also a table and armchair in the balcony. Plenty of storage space in the wardrobes, safety deposit box, an iron / iron desk, a working desk. There was also a small kitchenette if you fancied cooking yourself (shops are in Oistins, but prices aren’t that low, so you may as well use the restaurant all the time), fridge however was very handy to have. I was really surprised that on arrival, I had received a bottle of Cava for my birthday (I mentioned it at the time of booking). This was still few days of the special day. Later, on the actual day, there was also a bottle of local rum. I’ve been spoiled by them ??. Thank you. BATHROOM *** Bright, clean and also full of colours. There were 3 soaps as toiletries only and they were not replenished during the stay. So if you need more than that (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel – bring it yourself). BEACH & SWIMMING POOLS *** There are two swimming pools – one large one with many sun lounges and another one (long one), just below our balcony. Spotless clean and it was fantastic to get refreshed there. Bar is just next to it, so you can get your drinks. I think however, that you guys should be more pro-active when offering some drinks or snacks as guests would buy more (as offering these options was not happening, so some people were not bothered to go and ask). On the other side (where the Sea View rooms are), there are additional jacuzzis and also sunbathing terrace with some lovely flowers and bit of greenery. All areas cleaned properly every morning and of course during the day. Beach is quite small, but you can access to of them. OMG the sand is amazing. Be careful with the sea wated as currents can be very strong there. There are also few lovely beaches in the few kms proximity. BREAKFAST *** We decided to have breakfast in the hotel and this was a good choice. It is served in the sea terrace which brings you absolutely amazing views of the blue sea. You have to remember that there are also a lot of guest birds visiting during this time, so at no any circumstances, you can leave your breakfast unattended. Breakfast selection was good, including cold and hot meals. It was tasty, however could be nicer presented. As quality of food was good, but the way it was served (buffet) was a little bit chaotic and not necessarily elegant (I know, this is not a 5*, but small changes would be beneficial). They had very good coffee and freshly baked cakes which was big plus. Also, menu was changing every day, so that was enjoyable as well. RESTAURANT *** Their lunch menu is quite short and I’d say boring, but we tried some options and it was OK. Also, bar is open so you can have nice drinks during you busy day roasting near the pool. Dinners however was much nicer. Menu is different and it was extra busy. All tables were taken, so we’re lucky to get one (book earlier if so). Selection was good, portions quite large and prices as high as in town ??. I enjoyed that. Also, you have a lovely sea breeze and sound of the waves – awesome. INTERNET ACCESS *** Complimentary wi-fi access and connection was good. CHECK-OUT EXPERIENCE *** Hm… As we were moving to different hotel, we wanted to leave just after breakfast. All done, all packed and final bill paying time. OK. This was at least 30 min. Check-out was quite painful I have to admit. I don’t know, what happened. Or our receipt were lost, or some other details, but finally we managed. STAFF *** Entire staff is lovely. Welcoming you with a smile (unless you’re very grumpy as some guests were, haha) and assisting whenever you asked for anything. From reception, all restaurant staff, all housekeeping. Special thank you for Jerome from restaurant for taking care of us. One of the evenings, there was also a “weekly Manager’s Rum Punch Party” near the pool. I’m not a big fan of such parties, but we went for it and it was lovely. There was a chance to speak with some staff and the manager, have some punch (it was tasty, I liked it) and have some freshly made grilled finger food. Nice idea and very relaxed evening. OVERVIEW *** Great, local hotel. This is not a fancy AI resort, but has very local spirits and atmosphere. Extremely friendly staff, colourful, happy, relaxed, natural environment. Good, fair prices and beautiful location. Was I happy with the standard I usually don’t book for myself? Definitely yes. Butterfly Beach Hotel exceeded my expectations and I really enjoyed our stay. Beach is stunning and your photos on social media annoy all your friends at home or work and this is not fake – trully Caribbean experience for an affordable price. Would I go back and recommend this place? Definitely yes. Also, they quite often have some special prices, so keep an eye on this one.

Just returned from 3rd visit to the butterfly beach , love this hotel , beautiful location on the beach which we swam in everyday early before breakfast ,, staff lovely and rooms are lovely ( we had a sea view ) cleaned daily , lovely lunch menu , continental breakfast could offer a little more choice but it’s adequate enough so no big deal or deal breaker ,, because of the location we always prefer to hire a car when we stay there but on main road with lots of buses so again no big deal ,, within walking distance of supermarket and Oistins for the fish fry on Friday nights , if your more energetic you could actually walk to Dover beach and at Lawrence but it is a bit of a trek ,, will be back for a fourth visit ??
