We arrived at the GW on Christmas day and stayed for 9 days. My wife and I had visited before but this was our first visit with our 2 adult children. We told them about the pools, waterslides, activities, etc. and are pretty sure they thought we were exaggerating. However, after one day at the GW they agreed that they felt like 12 year olds again and were having so much fun in the water. And how can one not have fun here. We enjoyed the food/restaurants (except Bistro Molokini) and always experienced great service in every aspect of the hotel - from check-in to check-out. We loved it so much we made reservations for the next holiday season right after we left.

This is a truly remarkable resort unlike most other hotels. The grounds are magnificent, the pool is huge and fun, and the staff is so friendly looking to create wows. My family had a great time at the Grand Wailea in Maui. Top Pros: Beautiful facility all around overlooking the majestic Wailea Beach The resort pools are unique and fun for all ages (love the free sunscreen) The view of the hotel is breath taking The Hilton Honors Diamond breakfast was really good Cons: The food is a bit pricey

First I am a HH Diamond member and I am a Hilton Grand Vacations member. I hardly write reviews but I was so put off by this place I have to!!! Needs updating and Terrible customer service!!! First the lazy river is more like a lazy block,,,,its less than 2 minutes round trip! Also the rooms are so outdated, the tub and shower has seating but the tile is so dingy looking that nobody would even dare to sit on. You have to add everyone's name to the reservation for the pool bands...but I was not aware of this. So when I went to get my bands the "manager" Tiffany would not let me get bands...I get that. But as a manager, she should have explained policy, instead she talked to me like i was stupid and belittled me. A real manager would explain policy instead of saying "I dont know what is so confusing to you" ...how rude. She really needs to either be FIRED or get some serious training!!!. Besides the horrible "Manager" Tiffany, the hotel charges for EVERYTHING!! parking is 40 a night, more than 4 a room is extra, the "LAZY RIVER" doesn't even have tubes to float in, you have to buy them for at least $8 each!! What the Hell!??!?! save your money because like I said its not a real lazy river. I suggest you save your money and go somewhere else!

I would 100% come back to the Grand Wailea. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. The bathroom was huge. The grounds were gorgeous. The staff was accommodating and very nice. We had a great time in the beautiful pools with slides and the water elevator. Zero complaints.

This is a great hotel for couples or families. I recommend becoming members if you plan to go more than once. It's not a timeshare so it's not a big buy in fee. The pool is a water park that's fun for all ages. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and I can't imagine more beautiful grounds than this. Wailea is the less windy than Kaanapali. Also the ocean waves are not as strong. The beach is wonderful. You can get your beach chair in the morning at no charge. They can only set up so many though so if the hotel is full, then get your chairs in the morning. I prefer sitting on the beach rather than at the pool but the adult pool is nice and we used to sit by the large pool when the kids were young and swimming all day. The rooms are all lovely. If you are Hilton Gold Members then you get complementary breakfast which is worth a lot at the grand dining room which is beautiful. Otherwise, I suggest going to Kula Cafe which is kind of expensive but still reasonable enough - or go to the mall next door which has lots of food options. Try and buy pool float rings before you get there because they are expensive and you'll want those for the lazy river. The beach yoga morning classes are nice. There is a lovely walking path that goes in front of the hotel and continues in both directions for a nice walk either way. Do both. You can order door dash at the hotel and there is a designated pickup over by the ballroom. We did that a lot for dinner.
