My bestfriend and I are currently here celebrating our birthdays. The first day started off a bit rocky with miscommunication and misunderstandings. The second day we were just determined to make it a better day, and indeed it was! Garth James, one of the mangers sat down with us and listened to our concerns and disappointments. He was very nice in giving us a moonlight dinner on the beach to help us celebrate our birthdays. When we returned to our rooms to our surprise we had balloons, a happy birthday banner and champagne. He really went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing birthday and stay here. I really love how all the staff are very nice and accommodating. The establishment is beautiful and the food is some of the nest I’ve ever had. The hibachi grill is definitely a must try but due to limited space you will have to book in advance. When we arrived it was all booked up but was lucky enough that someone cancelled. I will be back but would probably stay on the Lady Hamilton side of the resort.

The food was great and lots of variety. The drinks were good but only 2 types of whiskey unless you were a member. I don't like the segregation fell of these large resorts. For the most part the staff was great with exception of a couple of grumpy bar tenders. The beach and pool area servers were very good. I would return again.

Worse visit to Jamaica 50th birthday

Visited this for my 50 birthday and got bullied It’s very bad so read to the end. Would give it no stars but cannot. On the surface this place looks truly beautiful but it’s got a few supreme failures. If your not in the newer section it’s very run down. In my room for myself and my wife the wardrobe door had to be opened by me as the heavy doors were broken and my wife could not move them as was the draw to the bedside cabinet it just fell off it’s runners as you moved it the door to the the balcony was the same. the inside door was very heavy to move and the outside net door was ripped so it could be moved by putting your hand through it and I think it was ripped as the door was again very stiff and got stuck like the wardrobe doors and ok the bed was good and comfortable. I chose the hotel for all its amenities but especially the sailing. I’ve been sailing since I was at school and sailed on many lakes in the uk so wanted to sail in Jamaica and that’s where the trouble started. I asked and was told it’s not good now come back when the flag is green and two days later it was green and I asked again signed the papers and the sails were rigged and then got a little strange. it was not put into the water and I started to ask what was going on and went back up to the office to ask they said if you sail and your good it will make others who can’t sail to want too and this would cause the problems. This I could not believe as a good reason to say no as other visitors were not why I was there. They would not say it was about me but would say it windy and others would want to sail. I offered them money as there was a training option as I thought if I paid for a session training that they could see me sail, but the answer was if you have the band on everything was free but still no. In the end I had the tui rep and the entertainment manager there who were asking the lady “so on this day with the sea flat why can’t he sail and was given the same answer others who can’t sail would want to sail” So no luck but I could see the sea was calm and could not see why they were holding such a policy as the flag was green. So went back to my bed on the beach and got my camera and walked back. The rep and manager were still there so I started filming first the sea then the manager and rep then asked the question again “ is this the sea I can’t sail on and why can I not sail. Not once was I told I was Not capable but then seen I was filming them they started with the whacky question “ if your sailing north and the wind is coming from the south west what angle should you set your sale. At which point I said what are you saying whats with the whacky questions now. It’s not like I could spend time drawing it out not what I sign up for. I just said sail or not your just being hard work now. Then she said I could sail. Spent 20mins to half hour sailing without fault. This was about the 3rd or 4th day. AFTER THAT I JUST WENT ON WITH MY HOLIDAY. BUT THAT WAS NOT THE END OF IT. I am fluent in Jamaican patwah I notice the staff pointing and saying bad man, mwhich is not good look it up.!! Then spitting near me Then all my drinks were full of what I’m guessing was DETERGENT. I had burnt mouth, throat and stomach. This continued for the remainder of my holiday and had to get others to get my drinks but the damage was already done home now and getting medication for the problems which are not good. Can’t eat drinking is painful. Don’t known how long it going to last but being told to take medication for at least six months even if I feel better as the damage needs to heal. I did not notice the pain and burning at first as I’m on morphine 24hrs day and other pain meds for various problems I have. If that was not enough I had staff banging on the floor above my room to try and upset me more. Got to point that the bullying was so bad that I was not drinking unless it was out of the mini bar. I did not complain anymore as I was scared of the outcome. My advice is NOT to go to this place it’s staffed by poorly trained poorly supervised people that have slipped to a level that has myself very concerned if ever it was any better at the moment I was there it was very variable it could be a table bare of all or it could be set but 15min for tea or silver ware its just poor. everyone has but one job and does not change or help even if you ask as they see it as doing someone else’s job for them. It seems To me if your old and easy pleased then this could be for you By all means go to this place but don’t complain as it could kill you, There seems to be a under tone that hates people that have more so to ask for something is an insult as you are so bless. DETERGENTS POISONINGS CAN KILL OR AT LEASE DAMAGE YOU AND THEY DID THIS TO A VISITOR BECAUSE THEY WERE LAZY AND DID NOT WANT TO WORK. photos of myself sailing and thinking all was good but this was a wrong all was not good it was just starting. I do have the video of the time I went to the desk but that is for tui to see and deal will. This place is DANGEROUS as one of them said it’s jungle justice..
