My wife and I celebrated our 20 year anniversary at Sandals Negril. The staff was very friendly and overwhelmingly welcoming. We had an ocean front room with a beautiful view! The room was very clean and modern! If you book at least Club level, there is a stocked mini-bar in your room. It also included water and soda for non-drinkers. This was restocked daily. You have access to a large room service menu from 8am-10pm. All of the selections were delicious, and delivery took about 30-45 min. The beach was beautiful, but there seemed to be an abundance of seaweed which collected in the swimming areas. We saw the staff cleaning some of it out, but it would have been nicer to swim and prettier to look at if they had cleaned more of it out. Roving staff always kept our drinks full no matter if you were at the pool or the beach!! They had a DJ at the pool area playing good music, but there wasn’t any music playing where it could be heard from the beach chairs. You will need to play music on your phone if you want music at the beach. We also had a private cabana one day, which was amazing! A concierge made the long trip to the bar, and any of the restaurants to get you anything you wanted to eat and drink. The cabanas also came with several bottles of name brand sunscreen. It was a beautiful view and nice shallow water to cool off in. We set one of the lounge chairs in the water and it was amazing. The cabanas however we’re also missing music and we had to play it on our phone. The free WiFi was sufficient for everything we needed, including the occasional FaceTime calls back to the kids. The WiFi signal however was kind of spotty, and didn’t cover every part of the beach. Also in our room we had to sit near the balcony in order to get a signal. Nobody will accept tips. And they are serious about it. If you try, they will literally back away from you while thanking you for the gesture. The only exception to this is if you have a Butler level room, or a concierge at the private cabana. I would say the only downfall on our trip was the persistent offers to purchase the “paid“ extras such as Snuba, and private boat tours. We were approached at least once a day, almost every day of our week there, and felt pressured to purchase the upgraded paid excursions. This was annoying Especially when you would tell them no thank you and the same employee would approach you the next day and ask you again. One specific employee also appeared irritated when we showed for the free snorkeling tour after telling him no earlier in the day to the paid Snuba tour. I’m wondering though if this was because the resort was only at partial capacity due to Covid, and had it been full like normal, if they would have had more business and been less persistent. Also there are several of the locals walking the beach that will offer you marijuana, braids, sea shells, and other items for sale. They were always polite though, and would keep moving if you told them no. Overall a great relaxing trip, and I would absolutely go back!

The best customer care the world has to offer!

I literally created a Trip Advisor account to write a glowing review for this resort. I cannot say that I am the most traveled person, as I have not been to other resorts in Negril to compare my experience, but my expertise is centered around customer care, as I have managed and operated in the field for over 8 years. I mention this to say that the staff at Sandals Negril were the main highlight of our 7-day stay. My wife and I flew out to Jamaica before our area in California were ordered to shelter in place. When we arrived in Montego Bay, I was very impressed with how many sanitizer stations and social distancing markers were appropriately spread throughout the airport. After getting checked for COVID symptoms and floating through the customs line twice, we arrived at the meeting spot for people going to Sandals Negril. Being cheerfully greeted in that room was like discovering an oasis in the middle of the desert. They offered St. Mary's Plantains and Tropical Sprite to prepare us for our ride to the resort. We ended up going in a private car that was provided by one of the staff members. He was an amiable and prompt driver. Once we reached the resort, we were then ushered to the cold, airy main office room. The manager on-site at the time (I can't remember her name correctly) then offered their signature Rum Punch to officially welcome us to the resort. Asana then leads us to our rooms while simultaneously showing us points of interest and explaining different general details about events and attractions. Asana was super sweet our entire stay and incredibly helpful when we ran into schedule conflicts. The only actual gripes I had with my experience had little to do with Sandals and were related to the location. The internet was very slow and inconsistent throughout the resort. I just assumed it had something to do with being on an ISLAND. The sand fleas and mosquitoes got to us good, even when we applied ample OFF to our skin. I think the bugs would attack whatever areas we didn't cover adequately. (Which were a lot of areas because I am a fat guy lol.) Lastly, the hotel was pretty vacant throughout the entire trip, but I am sure it was due to COVID hindering travel and causing people to cancel their reservations. To sum up this review, I would like to mention staff members that really helped make our honeymoon trip to Jamaica incredibly unique: Sashelle (Excellent service!) Asana (Very accommodating!) Ashley (Very friendly and helpful!), Cary Anne (Very charismatic and warm!) Gary the lifeguard (Very cool guy!) Jeff the photographer (Very professional and charismatic!) O'neil the photographer (Talented young man with a great eye and attitude!) Ricardo the water sports attendant (Great guy with DJ skills!) Moses the water sports attendant (A brilliant and helpful guy!) Janet the singer (Incredibly talented! She has a fantastic voice!) Kimola (The most friendly waitress/hostess ever!) Rosa Lynn (Very entertaining hostess!) ALL of the talent acts were incredible, and the resort staff was all practicing social distancing while wearing masks. The service from the Sandals Negril team was beyond amazing and deserves the highest review score possible!

We enjoyed getting away. Property was beautiful and well kept. Most of the food tasted like it was frozen and warmed up. Favorite food was the fresh mango and pineapple. Service was good but seemed like smiles and service was forced not always genuine. They definitely smiled and were overly kind when trying to sell something. Lol. We just did not feel comfortable with most of the staff. Part of it may have been not being able to understand what they were saying because of the mask situation. We kept having to ask them to repeat themselves 3-4 times. They got frustrated with us. We are hoping to maybe try a different sandals location though.

We stayed at Sandals Negril for the past week and all I can say is wow! I have never been taking care of so well by any staff. They truly appear to love their jobs and always treat their guests with kindness. They handled COVID amazingly! We felt very safe the duration of our trip. We stayed in room 5216 and the view was beautiful. It was right off of the ocean. Our room was cleaned perfectly. No complaints at all. The food you guys was amazing!!!! I seriously didn’t have one bad meal the whole week. We loved Cucino Romano and Marklan! Best Chicken Parm of my life. Marklan was so attentive and fun! We also loved Bayside and enjoyed the lobster, sea trout, and Chicken Cordon Blue. Yum!!!! Kimonos and the Japanese food was such a treat! Oli I was a great chef! We enjoyed hanging out by the pool and played volleyball, danced, and played other couples trivia type games. The playmakers staff were all so friendly and the DJ was awesome! I enjoyed the music choices he played! We loved the white out/silent headphone party. Favorite night of the week!! We did the free snorkeling trip. Snorkeling was sub par to Cozumel or Aruba but we still enjoyed ourselves. I saw bunches of fish! We also went kayaking and tubing a couple times. What a blast and so awesome that it is free and included in the price or your room. We also enjoyed the catamaran trip. We went snorkeling (same reef as before but better section. More formations and fish). We enjoyed the music there and also swimming in the cave and watching bats fly above you! That experience alone was worth the $99 a person. We rented a private cabana with concierge for $149. It was beautiful and a lovely relaxing day! We loved our concierge Carian. She was very attentive and sweet. Worth the money if you like relaxing and quiet! Evon at the Loyalty Travel desk hooked us up with a great find for our next trip! He was never pushy and super helpful! I cannot wait to come back to Sandals. This was by far the most relaxing and enjoying vacation by far!

    The staff is top notch!!

We just returned home from Sandals Negril last night. We were blown away by the high level of customer service and friendliness. Every single worker would greet you as they passed you and ask how you are doing. The entertainment was fabulous! We especially loved the Broadway Night show and White Night/Silent Headphone Party. This was also our first time with butlers and ours were wonderful (Orlando and Gawayne). The resort was only at 25 percent and the resort took safety and health very seriously. It’s apparent that Sandals has their best management team at Negril. We have no complaints. We can’t wait to rerun someday.
