Great location and helpful concierge

Ellen L on Apr 12, 2024

Check-in: Separate line for Elite Bon Voy members to save time. We appreciated the warm welcome and was assigned a room on higher floor with view of Times Square. Concierge: Tom was extremely helpful in assisting my family prepare our itinerary for the 2 days we were in the city. He helped us with grouping our activities by location, and giving us tips on to use the subway. He made a huge difference on this trip. Location: Heart of Times Square and across from many theaters! It is a busy area but we loved the energy as first time visitors. The subway station was 5-10 mins walking distance. Like any big city, best to be aware of your surroundings. Room: Larger than average NYC rooms which is why we selected this hotel. Clean and we loved the view.

Destination fee is an extra "upcharge" that is you don't expect or understand, so beware!

Kelley T on Apr 12, 2024

First of all, the walls are paper thin. We should be charged $400 a night to hear our neighbors talk, snore, or their cell phone alarm go off in the morning. BEWARE of the "destination fee" process! When you book, it is noted that you will owe roughly $34/day as a "destination fee". When you arrive, they hand you a little card and say that you can have up to $40 to spend in the hotel at restaurant, gift, shop. They make it sound like a gift/freebie that will be charged to your room and then cancelled out (i.e. to cover a sort of continental breakfast you would expect at a hotel). Well, no, it is $40 plus $5 tax per day charged to your room whether you use it or not. When you go to breakfast to "use" the $40, the buffet is $42 and it is per person not per room. If you go over $40 it is charged extra to your room, plus tax. And it is NOT cumulative, so if you don't spend $40 on one day you cannot use it towards the total. Even the hotel rep checking us out said it is a "controversial" process that hotels are doing, and that news channels are covering it as such.

Pat and Sue Stole the Show

Jorja J on Apr 07, 2024

The hotel location is sick! You walk out into Time Square and the life of the city. Pat and Sue made the stay wonderfundal! They checked me and my team in and made check in seamless. The check in line was super long so they took all 8 of us at once....AMAZING! Pat and Sue's smiles stole the show! We felt their smiles when they smiled at us:). They explained the layout of the hotel and made our long day of travel worth it. Keep smiling Pat!! Keep smiling Sue!! The elevator situation is a bit sad. There are over 30 floors and you have to use your hotel key to find which elevator goes to your floor. The wait is not great. If you have to get back to your room quickly, it just isn't going to happen. The Concierge desk was friendly and knowledgeable. My room had a spectacular view out to Time Square and you could see the Hudson! The space for Innovative School Summit was very nice. The refreshments during the conference was a nice feature.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Times Square

Susan N on Apr 07, 2024

We visit this hotel every year in December to experience Christmas in NYC. It’s always so beautifully decorated. Comfortable rooms, good service. It’s always busy but the staff is friendly. We eat at the restaurant in the main lobby and enjoy drinks at the bar.

If you want to have an unforgettable NYC experience, stay here!

Anna P (New York City, New York) on Apr 05, 2024

Best hotel in NYC ever! Me and my sister needed a hotel room last minute and we were drawn to the Marquis because we attended a conference there earlier in the week. We both had trouble making reservations via our phones but that crisis was quickly averted due to the amazing help we received at the reception desk from Ralph. I cannot express my gratitude and thankfulness to Ralph enough for how extremely patient, kind, charming, resourceful and relentless in helping us book our stay. The customer service we received was superb and is becoming quite rare to find at other places these days. We had a beautiful amazing room on the 35th floor which over looked the city and Hudson river. What made it more thrilling / cool was that it was raining and the city was overcast with fog; which when looking out the window made us feel like we were in a Batman / Gotham movie. Our mattress's were phenomenal - perfect mix of soft and firm; it felt like we slept on clouds. We both woke up feeling so refreshed. Lastly, the shower, was absolutely amazing - the key factor was the shampoo, conditioner and body wash smelled so heavenly of a eucalyptus/ginger mix. Highly recommend staying here, it's fully worth it from the amazing staff they have like Ralph to the overall environment and amenities the Marquis offers.
