    Older but Pleasant Resort

    This is an economical, well-aged hotel with many attractions but you must keep in mind that it is just that. The Tributes in the hotel are to the many stars like Marilyn Monroe and Cary Grant who frequented the hotel in the early years. Features and artwork are throughout the hotel. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a suite and it was quite large. It was not until we returned to the room after dinner that we noticed all of the deficiencies. The room was very dusty and obviously had not been used in a long time and was in need of a good thorough cleaning. Upon crawling into bed we noticed that the King sized bed was broken on half and made you roll down and out so we slept on half of the bed. In the morning we complained at the front desk and they did move us to a much better room and gave us a discount on the first night. It is a large but very dated hotel. The pool is wonderful and lots of fun in the area. The restaurant served us great food at both breakfasts and lunches. The snacks poolside were also very tasty. We visited the lobby bar one night and enjoyed the drinks and camaraderie of other guests. We spent four nights there and would stay again, but would request a newly redecorated room upon arrival. The Pros: location, pool, bar, service, restaurant, staff, up-graded areas and rooms. Cons: The older rooms, aged carpets and furniture.

    Overall, a good place to stay

    Stayed here with colleagues for a two-day business meeting, and overall, our stay went well. The service couldn’t be friendlier. We’re working with the hotel on hosting our upcoming conference, and they’ve been great to work with. There are a few areas that I think could see some improvement, but overall, we’re pretty happy with the hotel. Good stuff + Staff are super friendly and helpful + The pool(s) and fire pits are relaxing and accessible + Having many smaller buildings clustered together gives the resort a more relaxed feel for a bigger hotel + Conference center is easily accessed from all the buildings + Food was tasty. Could be improved stuff - As many have mentioned, some rooms have been updated, some are in need of it. I presume the hotel is working on this. - Sure would be nice if they turned down the music around the pool in the afternoons - Breakfast service was very friendly, and very very very slow (not the waitstaff’s fault, from what I could tell, but a slow kitchen) Other things to note - there is a free trolley service that runs on Thurs-Fri-Sat to take you to downtown PS. - there are also bikes to borrow from the front desk Although there was a water main break while we were there, I think the hotel handled it as best they could. We were having our meeting in the conference center, and they promptly gave us a key for a nearby vacant room for the day so we could go to the restroom. They also delivered hand sanitizer to our meeting since we couldn’t wash hands in the building. It wasn’t the hotel’s fault that the water main broke, and I do have sympathy for those who lost water in their rooms. Overall, I liked the Riviera, and will stay there again. We’ll have our upcoming conference there, so we’ll have a chance to try it again.

    We arrived on a coach tour. The hotel had suffered a water main break, so when we arrived, they didn't want to take us. They wanted to ship us off to another hotel. Our tour director wasn't having it, so we all ended up in rooms not suitable to us. Some of our group had rooms without water. My sister and I had booked a double and we ended up with a King. The rooms need updating - balcony doors don't work, bathrooms are dark. The upside - the poolside restaurants and atmosphere are wonderful. The wait staff is just great. If only this hotel could get it's act together and update the rooms and lobby, it would be great. I wouldn't change a thing in the midcentury bar - Perfection.

    Great Tranquility

    We visit at this Resort around early January 1st and 2nd, and it was very quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed the little fire pits and the luxury of the swimming pools. Although the water was cold I dipped in. In general the hotel is very clean and the service is excellent, But the rooms need an upgrade and the carpets and the sliding windows in the back definitely need a touch-up. However we would still stay there again.

    Horrible from the second we arrived. First the room that I booked was apparently not available which tells me that it was given away. The bars and lounge were closed early. We set stuff on chairs at the pool only to return a few minutes later and our stuff was on the floor and after complaining to the pool manager , he kicked my wife out of the pool. The toilet ran all night and didn’t flush the first night. Overall the wife and I were disappointed.
