Our visit was from March-3rd to the 17th, 2020. First of all, we are Club Members since 2015, and back in April of Last year, we heard that the Bavaro Suites would be renovated and that a Pool would be built next to the Members Beach Clubhouse. We, and the Sales People at the Club, thought the Pool would be for members...We thought wrong. It is of course, part of the Coral Level. First, the renovated Suites. They did a good job, nice modern Decor, Comfortable (enough) Bed and a nice Stand-Up shower. There are a few things, they did not renovate: The AC is still the same OLD System, it will keep you cool but it's still noisy and doesn't do much, to get rid of the Humidity. Wall Units would have been so much better, the other thing is the sewage system.... The Pool is nice and is situated right in front of some of the units. The Beach installations look Good but the beds don't offer full protection from the Sun, again like the Club's Beds, cute but not practical. Lots of room with many Parasols and the Beach is superb. Now for the El Faro, the main reason why we booked the Coral instead of the Bavaro, it's on the Beach and It's great for Breakfast, a good choice and lots of options and great juices. For Lunch and Dinner (À la Carte), we feel that they have to improve. For lunch if you want to take the time, you can have (fish, chicken, steak and pork) cook to order, but if you just want a light lunch, the prepared options should be WARM enough and suit in a better way the taste habits or the majority of the North American and European Customers. There is a Daily Theme lunch option offered, which is kept warm..., but if you have a late lunch...you're out of luck. At 2 O'clock they were usually empty. So for two weeks, we had mainly cold lunchs. We spoke often with one of the Chef's and told her about the situation and she agreed with us. We understand that Hotels have to throw away a lot of Food, but we believe that for the Price the Coral demands, they should take notice. For Dinner, since we enjoy a light lunch, we expected a better Menu. I tried one of the Cocotte Beef and it was 30% Meat and 70% Fat and Bone. Another night, I tried the other Beef Cocotte and contrary to the Coral in Cancun, they replaced the Braised Beef by two steaks, that they offer at Lunch Time. Good but not what the Menu specified. Now we know they have good Beef at the Iberostar Bavaro. we were invited to a Return Guests Dinner and they served a succulent Filet Mignon which for the Price they charge, the Coral (Even after Club Members Rebate) should be on the Menu, Other meal options should be included like Pork loin, Fish and Seafood and other Chicken specialties. I do not want my review to sound negative, this is a place (Iberostar Bavaro and Dominicana) we have visited 12 Times (2 Weeks) since 2012 and we are already booked late 2020 and April 2021 and there is No Way, we would cancel unless Covid-19 forces us to. We just want the Coral to improve. likewise for the Club's Beach Service. When José is not working the Quality of service suffers. When there were 2 waitresses (only a few days out of the 14), service was OK, but the other days, we and other Club members agreed and complained. The Staff at the Coral are simply F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C, from the servers, inside and outside the Restaurant to the Beach servers (we needed them, when we couldn't find the Club waitress), and of course the Animation Team which have a few Great Characters and are all Party Ready !!! Don't miss (when it re-opens) the Saturday night Party where the Staff fully participates. Overall it's a fantastic place with a Great Ambiance and Beach and Great People with only, we think, a few things to improve. Having been to the Coral in Cancun, i've noticed that the Dinner Menu is about the same, so ii hope that my recommandations will be forwarded to the People responsible for the Coral's and i have a feeling that they are based in Mexico. We'll be back, p.s. We already miss Dalida's warm and friendly Smile.

We had a wonderful vacation in Punta Cana! Can’t say enough about the amazing people who work at this resort. From the entertainment staff to the restaurant staff. Everyone is so happy and friendly. Salami 911, Mr. Pinky, Belotta and Bugs Bunny made our trip so much fun! Always with a smile to greet us, they provided entertainment for the whole family from morning till night

We spent 10 days here in early february. It was our 9th visit to this resort, but obviously the first time to coral level. Great staff and beach (enough beds but sometimes shade is hard to find: I’m a mid-winter European...help!) The El Faro for breakfast and lunch is unsurpassed. Like the other a la cartes: few vegetarian options unfortunately. My wife is a vegetarian so I’ll follow her choice of restaurant. Bar staff (and the drinks) are great. Unfortunately they close at 10. After that you only have the smoke-filled main bar! No smokefree area anywhere! It’s 2020 people! The lobby-bar is usually empty and therefore not very inviting. Rooms are freshly renovated and look nice. The fridge on the other hand is a joke! Only onthe 3rd day you could notice t doing anything, but beer NEVER got cold. I can use ice on softdrinks or water, but beer!? Refill on fridge/ coffee is hit and miss: come on Iberostar how many remarks on this do you need!? The quality of food in the main restaurant was in my opinion less compared to other years. No seafood banquet and no more stakes cooked to taste (both of these were available in El Faro). All things considered it comes down to price. If the ask a lot more for Coral level (now about 100 dollars extra for the week: intro-price?) then I’ll be more than happy to return. If it’s a lot more rhen I’ll stick to “main level” Selection. If Iberostar is trying to justify the rising price by giving less quality in the regular restaurant: after 10 years I’ll look for another resort!

We stay at 1 or 2 all inclusive resorts every year, and if you see my history, almost every review I leave is 4 or 5 star for this and most other things, so this is a rare exception. We stayed here for a week in mid February. We booked it in October and were very much looking forward to the trip, it appeared to be a brand new resort, with little other info on Iberostar or Air Canada's own website. The reality is very different. We arrived to our room quite easily and quickly, 1st issue was no hot water. We waited until the next morning as figured just an issue in the evening, still none. I called "0" on the phone and told them and went to breakfast. We came back to a man in a white shirt on a bike just leaving our room. Checked, still no hot water, we advised the Guest Services Manager and kept being told it was fine and working when it was not. Finally on the 2nd full day there I demanded a room change. They kept putting it off and was told by Noel that since "you're the only ones with an issue and Maintenance Manager said it is fine you must me mistaken." I politely ended our interaction and requested to speak to a Manager immediately. I was told Manager would come to my room in 15 minutes, 2 hours later no show. Went back to the Lobby and spoke with Noel, who told me needed to wait 4 more hours, until 3pm, for a room change, even though there were vacancies in the resort. We finally got a 2nd room, again on ground level, only to find it was like being in a sewer. The smell was very bad, so we told them, they brushed it off and said they would put "aromatherapy" in the bathroom, which did nothing. We ended up having to close the bathroom door and leaving the fan on 24/7. I fought to change rooms and was told no, no Manager available and Air Canada Vacations rep unresponsive. We ended up staying in that room for the duration. On the morning of check out, Noel at the Front Desk admitted he entered the room and could smell the stench, and offered to get a Manager, "if one is available" I told him no, by then what good would it do? Also asked for face clothes for several days, even on a Spanish written note, along with $10 tip to not receive. The fridges in both rooms were not functional and we only received new beverages on 2 of 7 days. In our 2nd room the phone would not work, so we could not dial 0 for reception or order room service,. We reported this to the Lobby twice and it was never fixed. Also the room service menu is almost the same as the regular part of the resort, fast foods and junk food. There is no breakfast menu and few healthy options, if you can somehow find a working phone to order it. The resort is not secluded or private in any way as you may be led to believe. It is a few old buildings given minor cosmetic upgrades and a roped off area on the beach and its own restaurant. The good parts? The beach is quiet and amazing and the Coral Level Restaurant, El Faro, is amazing. Most of the staff are eager to please and genuinely nice people. Food in most areas was above average. I sent an email to the resort 2 days after returning outlining this, and shockingly received no response of any kind. We've sent a full complaint to Air Canada Vacations as well.

An unbelievable experience, worth every dollar spent! An all inclusive totally exclusive, big and clean all equipped rooms, close to the most beautiful beach, wonderful swimming pools, good restaurants. Try El Faro and nothing else will be good enough! My question was: is there a life after Coral Level? Anyway, I am alive to thank for the best of everything: the people! The staff at Coral Level is attentive and the service is impeccable! Thank you Yanilda, Irene, Agustina Franklin; at the bar and restaurant El Faro, thank you Nieve, Santo, Yajaira, Wilkins, Jorge, Irene, Neftali, Felipe, Yolanda, Yanaira, Daliza, Joan Minaya and all of the others! Another thank you goes to the entertainment team, Bellota, Mr. Pinky, Salami, Alex and Bugs Bunny! Thank you for the dancing! The smiles and the warmth of the people of Dominican Republic are outstanding! ? ??????
