Very nice overall, except food issue

Robert D on Apr 13, 2024

This resort is well maintained and relatively new, with an army of staff taking care of things. The room (resort view Jr suite) was modern, clean and comfortable. Bars and restaurants were all at least good and some very nice. Pool and beach are excellent. Staff is very attentive. Unfortunately, got food poisoning/ gastroenteritis half way thru and ruined last few days. Probably from Noodle and Thread seafood pasta, but who knows? I guess that is possible anywhere, but has not happened to me at other AI resorts. Also, no recognition of our wedding anniversary.

1st class experience

Aaron F (Huntersville, North Carolina) on Apr 13, 2024

Everything from the food to the service was great! Our butler Enger made the trip even more memorable. If you get butler service request him!!!!! He is the best! We stayed on the Zilara side and there is just enough activity and just enough relaxation. We will be back!

Perfect getaway!

C779BCannac (Boston, Massachusetts) on Apr 12, 2024

Amazing trip! We went for my sister’s 40th to escape the chaos of home with small children and work stress, and Hyatt Zilara was perfect. Beautiful place, great amenities, friendly staff, and good food. We were only able to stay 3 nights, so if we’d been there longer we definitely would have taken advantage of some of the excursions, but for our needs, the resort was perfect. Super clean too. We also ended up venturing over to the Ziva side for some meals and the water park and had a great time. Special thanks to Perla who made sure we were aware of all the activities!

Loved The Property, The Amenities, The Beach, The Attentive Staff. Just Avoid The Butcher

Greg B (Wilmington, Delaware) on Apr 12, 2024

My wife and I had a week of sun and fun at the Hyatt Zilara. We have no real complaints about the property (beautiful), the room (so clean - every day!) or the staff (absolutely the most attentive and friendly we've experienced) A few short comings were entertainment - no live music with dancing for adults. There were shows to attend but really nothing more than an hour or so of watching singers and dancers. A few good ones to sit through for us were the Kids Karaoke (we thought of our granddaughter while watching) and The Retro Show that featured some Rock Classics sung live with a real live house band. We missed not having a nightspot for adults to dance and have an after dinner cocktail. Food: The buffet's are very, very good. Always fresh food, expertly cooked and a large, diverse selection was available. We felt that the buffet's offered a better experience than some of the restaurants. Speaking of restaurants.. First thing. Please make sure you tell your server that you are not in the fast food lane. We found that we needed to mention this at every spot because when we didn't, dining out became similar to a speed dating happy hour event. Noodles and Threads - Italian/not Italian. Getting seated right by the kitchen door doesn't help, but overall the food is decent but not special. It's tough for us to rate it because we live in an area that has so many really good Italian spots to enjoy. The Tempest: We really enjoyed The Tempest. Great selection to have stir fried. Steak, pork, chicken and seafood along with a good selection of vegetables. Service was good and friendly. The Blind Butcher: Disappointing. Don't assume that seeing "Butcher" in the name means you are going to a steak house or a place that offers steaks. One cut available: A tomahawk ribeye. No other cuts available. Walking through the big refrigerator door to enter the dining area was cool and a total photo opt for social media. However, this is not a steak house but a dinner show that serves steaks and other foods. The Wave: Our best experience. Plenty of steak cuts, a beautiful view of palm trees and ocean. Fantastic, attentive service that knew how to pace your meal. The Gym - Best fitness center that I have ever experienced at a resort. Large, very well equipped facility with towels, water and sanitizing stations to keep the equipment clean. Take the Cycling class if you're in to it. 35 minutes of hardcore cycling with Patrick who was a ball of energy the whole time. Overall, we are certainly returning. It's our second time in Punta Cana and this Hyatt we felt was a slightly step up from the property we spent time in last year.

Fabulous Hotel!

Hannah_Katherine_26 (Columbus, Ohio) on Apr 11, 2024

This hotel is amazing! My first experience at an all-inclusive did not disappoint. The stars of the show were the staff, nightly entertainment and the resort itself. The entire staff was so helpful and happy to do anything for you. Drinks were good and plentiful! Food was better than expected but I certainly wouldn't consider fine dining - as to be expected, you are there for a relaxing time not a culinary experience! Overall hotel was super clean, new and rooms were expansive. We received daily cleaning and turn down service. The hotel was definitely not full - we never had to wait for dinner, in a line of any sort and there were plenty of pool/beach chairs available. I would recommend booking airport transfer through the hotel - its a bit pricey ($110 round trip for 15 min drive) but the airport is chaotic and would be difficult to navigate on your first trip.
