    This was for a wedding group in May - we were a group of 55 and Iberostar was highly recommended by agencies when we were searching for a perfect place in the Dominican, reviews were mostly positive and we booked rooms more than a year in advance. We were told our suites would be in the same area but it wasn't due to us arriving late? First of all, our flights were delayed!! We absolutely had no control over this... Upon check in, staff were absolutely cranky as it was past midnight and a group of 55 just came in wanting to check in, fine let's just get to our clean rooms oh wait... Ants, sand-y water and smelly sheets - this wasn't the case for everyone but enough to request to changes. The front desk agent, scoffed and said our group has too many problems then shooed us away. Later in that day we made reservations for all of us in one of their restaurants. They "lost" our reservation. Ok, let's make a new one for the next day. Nope "too last minute." We expressed our concerns to multiple staff and only met 3 useful agents BUT in another department, not front desk. Management did absolutely nothing for us until the second last day. Everytime we made any type of complaint, we were shooed away - litreally with their hands. We asked to speak to management the very first day, and no one was ever available. About the property, we went when they were doing renovations. They were so busy with that they didn't care to clean up the beach (kelp, tree branches) the rooms or the dining area ?? we found out on the 5th day, someone in the wedding group had a renovated room, it was beautiful. The wedding couple? Basis suite like everyone else. They asked for an upgrade, paid for it - only to be moved to a room that was next door to their wedding guests that didn't pay for their apparent "upgrade." There was only one 24 hour restaurant in another resort that we had access too. Of the 4 resorts nearby - selection is second tier yet we barely had 4.5 star service. We had no choice but to order room service, cold food, same seasoning on every item on the menu... The fruits were good? Anyway, I'm triggered we went to a 4.5 star resort for the wedding week that was under renovations, not everything was open and the beach was dirty. Yikes

    Love it - we will be back!

    We visited 6 years ago and due to a change in circumstances, booked at late notice for this hotel - i am SO GLAD we did! We had an amazing stay and could fault anything. The food choice was amazing, special thanks to Margarito and Mariel for looking after us every day - they are lovely people. Rooms were clean and spacious for three of us with very comfortable beds. When an issue with the air con was reported, it was fixed within a matter of hours. Entertainment was of a very high quality in the evening and all of the Star entertainment team were brilliant. Two bits of feedback, please update the app as this was regularly saying one thing when it didn't appear to happen. It's a great idea but if it isn't accurate, people stop using it. When booking the A La Carte restaurants, please provide more tables for larger groups. There was only 6 of us but we were told we could book a couple of the restaurants as they couldn't accommodate a table of that size which was disappointing. I'm really keen to come back after the renovation to see how the hotel has improved even further - please ensure all of your wonderful staff are back as they made the holiday for us.

    We didn’t know this hotel. We went the weekend 16-18 august. We had a very good experience since we arrived. The men at the lobby with cars, very helpful and attentive. At the check in we received the best best best experience at the concierge. Sincerely we want to congratulate to: Yomaira, Javier, Daniel King for Excellent service, Five stars! Also Livio waiter at the restaurant. We wanted to reserve for dinner and the restaurant was full but she made all possible to permit the entrance to us. They called us to the room just to ask is everything was fine. If you need transportation just call a driver and they are so fast, excellent service 100%. The host man at the show is ver ver good too and this is a good ambient to seat. There are many lakes and peacefully places to read. The food at breakfast and the snack midnight can be better and more variety but is ok. The room service is very fast. This hotel is closing to remodel all the rooms, build a water park and re open dec15 2019. Definitely we want to go back! Thanks for everything! :)

    Renovation Horrible Experience

    I must say I was very dissapointed with this hotel. Having heard of great experiences with Iberostar chains, I was expecting a lot. The local tour operator with whom I made the reserve mentioned the hotel was closing the weekend I would stay in order to renovate the premises. HOWEVER never did the tour operator nor the hotel when I checked in indicated that me and my group of 25 pax would be having LIMITED OPTIONS... When I tried to make reservations for the steak restaurant for my 25 pax group @8am the public relations or guest service staff could not place me in any - in the selection because all specialty restaurants were closed due to the renovations and neither in the nearby hotels... so from a total of 10 hotels, I could be placed in NONE. Only 2 buffett restaurants and the french available. Activities were limited as well. Kids club was closed for renovations, the pool with the bar had some sort of wood platform that prevented users to cross from one section of the pool to another. On the very last day, it was obnoxious to watch hotel employees waiting for guests to move, in order to dismantle everything. Attentions I must admit were superb... Rooms were ok. Overall I did not had a pleasant stay - for the money paid, being in the selection under those conditions I would have never chose that location.

    I arrived with my family (10 adults 4 kids) in aug 23, 2019 (23 to 25 reservation). In the beginning they said to me that was an inconvenience with the card that I used to make the reservation. After a couple of minutes they resolved the problem and made the check in for all but they didn’t give us the rooms because was earlier that 3:00 pm and I understand (they only gave us one room). At this moment everything was good. After we lunch, we saw a lot of people arriving to the hotel and I don’t know but they said that we had to wait more time for the room (at this time was more than 3:00 pm). Aprox. 5 PM the manager (I forgot to ask for his name), said that they were unavailable to make the check in to my family because of the card (the same that they “solve the issue” in the morning). I said, if the card had problem, don’t worry, please take other card and charge all the reservation to this card because we were traveling for more than 5 hours with kids and all we were very very tired to go back. He said only NO. I saw that this guy was refused to help us in any way (at this moment I felt DISCRIMINATED). At the end, after I insist: please, we are a big family and we don’t have another place to go (because they made us wait for more than 6 hour at this time) they offer the same room for much more money and I think this is unfare was an hotel mistake with the card and not mine. At the end we had to go back and I am still waiting for the full refund (that they said me that they will do but they sent me an email with only part of the money that we paid), and we lost our time and our money in gas and tolls (more than 400 usd) to move all the family to this hotel and they didn’t care. I don’t recommend this hotel to anybody becase if they made a mistake you will suffer the consequences. PD. One of the guys in the front desk offended me with a very discriminating comment, telling me that I could go to the prison (for nothing because I wasn’t taking to him) I felt so humiliated. Rgds,
