This resorts is beautiful and well kept. The staff is very kind and our personal concierge Henry was extremely helpful. The only reason I give this place a 4/5 is because we ordered room service and never received it. After waiting an hour for it we had to rush to a restaurant and eat in a hurry in order to catch our flight.

I'm writing this review to help others make their vacation choices! Let's face it, kids can have fun anywhere there's a pool and some sand. That's where the experience ends. This hotel is not nearly a 5 star caliber resort that they market it as. The staff needs to be retrained on proper COVID protocols. Taking a COVID test inside of a closed off hotel room with one person after another walking in and out of the room is not proper protocol. The food choices are not good- my family was so bored with the breakfast and lunch choices because they were the exact same buffet options everyday. Adults are not allowed to go down any water slides. The water park is geared towards younger children and children over the age of second grade would probably be bored. Do not spend your time and money at this hotel when there are far too many other wonderful choices out there!

I can’t say enough about how the staff went above and beyond our entire stay. Imagine the spoils of Atlantis without the hassle of an oversized property or Nobu prices but equal quality and more. The entertainment and character accessibility for my little one was awesome. This was the best all-inclusive I’ve ever been to. I highly recommend. The personal concierge service is an awesome touch. You’re lucky if you get Marlene. (:

We stayed at this hotel from April 4-10th. We were a group of 15 (6 adults and 9 children). My family (2 adults and 3 children) reserved the pad swim up suite. I was excited given the reviews I read but I was extremely disappointed! We paid about $1k (USD) a night and the hotel was far from worth that rate. I tried to breakdown my review below to make it easier to skip through. I was as objective as possible in my review. I tried to give the hotel feedback but I would have to go out of my way to find the person in duty to give them feedback. If you have an upcoming reservation just know that this hotel is not well kept, understaffed and overrated. If the rate was closer to $300/night for the same room, I would have given a different rating. The value just isn't there! Pre-arrival: Communicating with the resort thus far had been a challenge. Somewhat inconsistent and delayed. Given the size of our group and COVID I was trying to understand how we can ensure our rooms were near each other so that we can easily stay within our pod and minimize risk of exposure. Unfortunately, not a lot of details offered. Checking in: Extremely disorganized with very long waits and poor service. Lobby is small and couldn’t accommodate the volume of people checking in. Nearly impossible to social distance. There appeared to be an additional waiting room for children but that was closed off. Teresa in Concierge was friendly and helpful in getting our restaurant reservations secured and COVID testing scheduled. We arrived early which meant we had to wait for our room, no issues there as we were able to eat at the buffet and walk the grounds. However, our room wasn’t available until AFTER the check in time which was extremely frustrating and disappointing! Room: We were in Building 2 (room 2104) which was centrally located. Walking distance to restaurants, beach and splash park area. Room was fine, but not well kept. I’ve attached pictures of the outdoor patio area, there seemed to have been wrappers under the lounge chairs which I attributed to the wind blowing them there. The worst part we’re the broken cushions on the outdoor furniture and the broken pool tiles (my son cut his toe). Our first evening we went to set up the pull out couch for my oldest and it was broken!!! We had to call maintenance and they brought that bulky bed you see in the images. While they were setting up I asked if I could get a new couch instead of the bulky metal frame as it was blocking access to the outdoor swim up area ... the main reason we picked this room! I was advised I would need to call maintenance again and submit that request. For the room rate and ratings I was not expecting this room or service. The grounds: The week we visited it rained on and off, nothing crazy but it was evident the hotel is in need of a new irrigation system and upkeep. I attached a picture of a piece of wood my son happened to step on as we walked to dinner and his foot went through as it wasn’t properly adjusted. I’m also attaching a picture of a roof that collapsed right outside the kids play area as we walked by. I assume it happened as a result of the rain but I questioned the structural safety of their buildings. Overall the grounds don’t scream Nickelodeon, they have some decals, a spongebob statue and some character sitings. Apparently the grounds are shared with a sister hotel, Sensatori. There were several little playgrounds throughout the grounds which was nice for the kids. Entertainment: Job with evening entertainment. The kids enjoyed the circus themed night. Restaurant/Food: The food was good. Had a good combination of local dishes and American options. However, the waits to eat were extremely long! The buffet at Sugarcane was also understaffed and disorganized which meant that a quick bite could turn into a long wait. The way we worked around it was by going during non-peak hours. Splash Park / Pools / Beach The lifeguards in the splash park were AMAZING! Great with the kids, hyper aware of the area to ensure everyone’s safety, etc. My family and I travel often and this was by far the best group of lifeguards I’ve seen. We spent most of our time in the splash park and the beach. The few times we went to the pool it always closed 30min early because of an “accident”. Not sure if it was true or just a coincidence. The beach was good, we never had an issue finding a cabana, even with our large group. COVID Testing: Testing takes place at Sensatori, the sister hotel which is a few feet from the lobby. We were scheduled to test at 9am on the Thursday prior to our departure. Apparently everyone gets the same time. It was disorganized with everyone lined up in the lobby waiting for the lab techs to arrive. It is on a first come first serve basis. Once the lab techs arrived things moved fairly quick and we received our results in less than 10 minutes.
