    Amazing Vacation!

    Our family had an incredible vacation at Azul Beach Resort! Thank you Nancy Burgos for the proficient help in guest reservations. The hotel is beautiful with a wonderful landscaping. The staff was very careful to address concerns with COVID by wearing masks, having sanitation stations and checking temperatures at the restaurants. Ana Rubio, Nylse and Jose at the ABEO’s reception made us feel so welcomed! Ana was always pleasant and ready to assist us with anything. Our housekeepers Angela and Francisca always had our room very well cleaned, thank you! We had butlers Janet and Valentin assisting us and they took very good care all of our needs. Janet did an awesome job; she was very responsive and efficient! Dorian and Miguel from the premium section pool were fantastic, making sure we had everything we needed. Great food at room service, thank you Jorge Viveros from Room Service. We had a great SPA experience with Erica, Greysi, Rita and Perla. In addition, we want give a shout out to Lupita and Noel from Pizza Pizza; Juan and Rolando at Siena’s breakfast; Mateo, Jose, Jorge and Enrique from breakfast at Zavaz and Angel at Zavaz’s dinner (a true expert) for impeccable service! The employees make this place great! They all made such a wonderful experience for all of us! Thank you!

    Great trip to the beach

    We visited this resort at the end of March 2021 for spring break. There were 3 families for 11 people total, 6 adults and 5 teenagers. Things I loved: The staff was great; see shout outs below. The rooms were huge and well appointed; we especially loved the big balcony with sectional seating. The AC worked great. The common areas/pools were beautiful and well maintained. With a couple of exceptions the food was really good and the mojitos were fabulous. A couple things that could be improved: The house white wine was really not good; I could not even drink it. There were a few times when the top shelf alcohol was not what it should have been; either with a bad/chemical taste or in one case one of our party saw a bartender pouring something else into a Grand Marnier bottle before serving it to her. We bought wine three nights and our first choice was not available any of those nights so we had to pick a different wine. Not a huge issue but at Zavaz when I picked my second choice I confirmed that I wanted two bottles and was told they had them; six adults were drinking wine so we were going to need at least two bottles. The first bottle was poured and when I asked for the second they didn’t have it and now I had to pick a third choice wine which turned out to be inferior to the one we just drank so it was disappointing. Also they got a lot busier halfway through our trip and when that happened it got harder to get a drink at bars or a reservation at restaurants. The night we ate a Zavaz many dishes were incomplete. For example the pea soup was supposed to have prosciutto and croutons on top but didn’t (but soup was really good though), also I ordered a seafood curry with rice dish that was delicious but there was no rice. We didn’t complain as we had enough food but we did notice the omissions. Le Chique, Spoon and Starbucks were closed due to Covid but in general the food was good. We ate at the Mexican restaurant twice and once each at the Italian, tapas, and Caribbean restaurants. Our favorite was Tapaz. Staff shout outs: Javier at Zocalo Zavalo at waves bar Roberto and Jocelyn tapaz Heydor at beach bar Alma in pool area - she was the best! Carmen at the taco bar at Siena for breakfast Overall we enjoyed the resort very much and I would return in the future.

    The resorts are terrific only if you don’t get involved with the club. Bought 2nd set of fly back. Waited the year to use. Submitted our claim and told the certificates we hold are not proper. Presented our receipts told they were not he correct ones. Asked what I purchased never received a straight up answer. Almost like I was being considered a fraudster. The working staff at the resorts are amazing as long as you stay away from the membership people. I have an Emerald membership for sale if anyone interested. Sorry to be such a downer on such a nice resort!

    We recently stayed at the Azul Beach Resort and found the staff to be amazing. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Two stand-outs, Jose Luis and Alma were top notch and made our days fun. Everyone at this resort works hard, but these two definitely had fun doing it.

    I have reviewed this resort twice before, but not when Covid protocols were involved. I can state that everything possible was done to ensure safety. Staff were consistent in the wearing of masks. The Covid testing process was simple and convenient. Of the many Karisma resorts we have visited (as Exotic members), this is one of our favorites. Ana and Nylsee went beyond the norm to answer our questions and make us welcome. We spent a lot of time at the pool where Dorian and Miguel were butlers. There attention was consistent and much appreciated. Our concierge for building 2 (Yadi) treated us like old friends and Rodrigo (front desk) handled our requests with efficiency and friendliness. I also want to acknowledge the care and concern exhibited by the resort staff and medical personnel (Dr. Arzaga) who responded quickly and thoroughly to a fall in the lobby. Spoon and Le Chique were closed because of Covid protocols, but the other other restaurants were welcoming,. And Noel (at Pizza Pizza) made an extra effort to learn our names and anticipated our lunch order. A great week.
