I came down for a girls trip with three friends. We got our bags and walked outside to easily find Lomas Travel. Martin took the bags from all four of us and took us over to a fabulous Limo and we enjoyed champagne on our ride to the property. It only took about 30 minutes to pull up to Generations. We booked the 2 bedroom oceanfront swim up suite and were in building 20 on the ground floor. Huge room, loved the swim up suite aspect and the indoor as well as an outdoor shower option. It was also really nice to have an extra bathroom since there were four women trying to get ready at the same time. I'm an Emerald Member so we had a fully stocked bar as well as 3 stocked refrigerators. What pushed our trip over the top was the fantastic service we received from our two exceptional Butlers, Luiz and April. No ask was was too big or a problem. They seriously did so much for us from rides to/from restaurants and spa appointments, dinner reservations, room service, Bali beds on the beach, sending our favorite waitress, Anita, out to the beach for drink orders and even bringing us our favorite ice cream every night! I don't think we heard the word "no" our entire stay and coming back to reality was really hard! The water views from this resort are gorgeous but it is not a swimmable beach due to rocks. The pool was refreshing though, not too cold to go in and there are lots of lounge chairs in the sun. Having access to the two Adults only El Dorado properties next door was a treat, there are lots of restaurants and bars to visit. Generations Riviera Maya is a smaller property, which I prefer...only 162 suites. Directly next door they are opening a Nickelodeon Resort in June and it has a waterslide park that will be open to the public. I think a day pass is around $60. Overall, this was an absolutely spectacular trip, we felt very safe (there are a lot of COVID precautions in place), the food and the service were truly world class! Luiz, April and Anita were simply the best!

Chef Hector Chepp at Habb Indian restaurant, located at Generations served us a fantastic meal. He cooked up a spread of various appetizers as well as main course dishes for us to taste. I'm normally not a big fan of Indian cuisine, but I would go back here without hesitation. It was my favorite restaurant during my 7 day stay at El Dorado Royale. The lamb chops as well as the lamb stew (not its official name) were tender and flavorful. I wish I knew the name of everything Hector prepared for us, but since nothing was ordered from the menu, all I can say is I bet you won't go wrong ordering items from the menu too. Our waiter, JJ was fun, entertaining and always ready with anything we needed.

We ventured out of our usual dining choices and ate at Habb Indian Cuisine last week. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Our waiter, German, suggested we try a sampling of all the appetizers and helped us each chose our main entrees. Our group of four diners all enjoyed our food and will be back! The entire team at Habb was welcoming and made our visit very enjoyable.

Not the best "All Inclusive" experience

This is the first time I book in this hotel. I've been in a lot of "All inclusive" resorts, and this was not as great as the rest. Checking in was very easy and fast, even though the guy at the gate didn’t had our names in the reservation list. There was never a problem with our suite, it was always clean, the bathroom is very big and has all the necessary amenities. The living room and bedroom were big enough for me and my wife. The bed was very comfy as well as the pillows. The only problem with our room was that they did not refill the coffee I used. I had to call the reception desk for them to bring me new coffee bags. About the restaurants, I don't know if it’s because of all the COVID restrictions but our experience food wise was terrible. There are no buffets at all. You had to order all the food from the menu and wait for them to cook them. They do not let you take food to the pool beds or even to your pool table nor the beach. If you get hungry, we had to go to the restaurant and order food and eat it there in the restaurant. In the pool they only had ONE food option (not like other resorts where you can choose from hot-dogs, burgers, nachos, french fries, etc.). Food was good flavored but limited. The portions were very small. We eat most of our food at the restaurant called “Chef’s Market”. The service in our first breakfast was super slow, they took around 45 minutes to get our food and the place was empty. After that, the service got a lot better and the food quality and taste was excellent. We eat all our meals there because other guests told us they had bad experience with other restaurants in the hotel. There was a waitress called “Esther” that had the most EXCELENT service and disposition. Kudos on her. In one of the restaurants (Santa Fe) we were seated around 8:45 pm and as soon as we sat in our table, the first thing the waiter told us was that the kitchen closed in 30 minutes, so we had to order everything at once. We did, but he never told us that the portions were extremely small (probable half the portion size of a regular meal). We got our tiny, portioned food; it was obviously not enough so we ordered more bread for us to feel a little bit more satisfied; and yes; there was also a problem with this because... they ran out of bread!!! This was probable what made us very upset and had to call the restaurant manager. After a couple of minutes complaining, I have no idea how, but surprisingly they brought us some bread (just a piece for each one of us). The service at the pool and beach was not the best. One of the waitresses from the beach was very disrespectful to us and she took a lot to come back and ask us if we needed something. We had to go to the bat at the pool to order our drinks. My wife had to go to the butler’s desk to complain about her. After that, the waiter was way much better, his name is “Alfredo”. Kudos on him as well.
