The entire trip was just what we needed. The hotel was wonderful and the staff was amazing. Ana and Henri were so helpful and attentive. I wasn't sure what to expect when they said butler service but they did not disappoint. They made our Anniversary trip special from rose petal baths waiting on us upon return to our room, rose petals and swans on the bed for the turn down service, to chilled champagne and roses. It was absolutely amazing. We spent every day on the beach with top quality service by Gaston. He made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We never saw an empty glass. The ocean front view is a must have. From the sunrise to the sunset, you never get tired of the site or the sounds. The wait staff at each of the restaurants was equally amazing. They call you by name and provide unprecedented service and selection. All inclusive from private transportation to and from the hotel to unlimited food and beverages. The staff made the check-in and out process easy and the COVID testing just as easy, ensuring we were where we needed to be on time with quick results. The safety protocols and cleanliness were apparent and followed by the entire staff at all times. I can not say enough about the hotel and staff. We are already planning our next trip but the next stay will last longer!!

Just came back from this resort, where we spent a week with 2 other couples (6 all together). ARRIVAL: we've been met by a nice lady, who asked us to take our temperature, using a face recognition machine. Afterwards we went through the check-in process. It was fast and painless, except for a brief attempt to schedule some kind of a sales pitch meeting with us, which we promptly declined. RESORT: it is relatively small by size, but very beautiful, with great architecture details throughout. Outside was equally gorgeous, with well manicured loan and tropical shrubs and trees. Staff has kept inside and outside public areas extremely clean. ROOMS: unfortunately our rooms were not available right away, even though we arrived at around noon, and the resort was only 30% occupied. But that was fine with us, as it is a normal thing. We have provided our e-mail addresses and were informed when our rooms were ready by email. Rooms were very specious - large sitting area, balcony with a swing and a couch, large bathroom with a shower and a jetted tub, well stocked with everything we might have needed. The pillows were not to our liking and were promptly replaced at our request. Stocked fridge completed the picture. BEACH AND SEA: the beach is large and fairly clean, with plenty of lounges, given the number of people at the resort. But here we hit the first problem - half of the beach was not suited for swimming, as it was rocky. The other half was OK, so it was only a small inconvenience, but it wasn't mentioned in the resorts brochure. Unfortunately, the sea was unsettled, as it was very windy during our entire 7 day's stay. On top of it, there was a lot of sea weed in the sea and on the beach, which made it for even less pleasant swimming. But we couldn't blame it on the resort - they tried hard to clean the beach up as fast as possible, with no luck. POOL: there were three pools at this resort. We only used the main, salt-water pool. But please don't be mistaken - salt water in the pool was not a sea water, but a "regular" one, with plenty of mineral salt added, so it wasn't the same as swimming in the sea. Nevertheless, it was clean and well maintained, with plenty of cabanas and lounges to accommodated everyone (again, the resort was at 30% occupancy, so I am not sure how it would look like if the resort was at full capacity). ENTERTAINMENT: it was decent. Nightly shows, various entertainers during the nigh. Unfortunately the TV channels' lineup was not so good, especially when it came to the English language channels - there were just not enough of them, and the ones that were there showed reruns of old shows. No HBO, or Showtime, or any other Prime channel to catch a late night movie. SERVICE: everyone, from cleaning personnel, to bartenders, to concierge were very nice and friendly, ready to assist at any time. At this point of my review, I'd suggest to all readers, who don't care about the food to stop reading. As for the rest of you, please keep reading. FOOD: please believe me when I tell you - we are not snobs, or spoiled rich people. We travel a lot around the World, and just appreciate good food and different cousins. So we consider ourselves to be foodies. On top of that, my wife is a great cook, so I am spoiled in this regard. So, food is a large part of our vacation. This time we were greatly disappointed. BREAKFAST: it was a buffet and the only meal that we had no problems with. They had everything one would need for a great breakfast, and everything was of good quality and tasty. LUNCH: it wasn't that great, but it was hit and miss. Grilled meats and fishes were decent, but some of the other food was just plain horrible. Cold shrimp and crab claws were previously frozen, and had a mushy texture. Tempura dishes were socked in oil. Baked desserts, for the most part, had no flavor, just sugar. This is something that should never happen in a 5 start resort. DINNER: we've been vacationing in the resorts of much lesser quality in the past, but never-ever had such a bad experience with a la carte restaurants like we had at this resort. They have 4 restaurants for a sit-down dinner and a buffet twice a week. We went for dinner to 3 out of 4 restaurant (didn't go the Mexican restaurant, because people we've met at the resort suggested to skip it). I could have written detailed review for each of the restaurants we went to, but I've chosen to describe all of them in one sentence. The food was bad in all of them. Period. It wasn't my opinion. Our entire party of 6 came to the same conclusion. Furthermore, people we talked to at the resort had similar opinion. DEPARTURE: no problem here. CONCLUSION: if you didn't care much about your food, but valued nice service, great architecture, small resort ambiance, then you wouldn't be disappointed. As for us, we would avoid Iberostar Grand Paraiso, and choose another resort, since most of them have great service and amenities. Please contact me if you'd like more details.

From start to finish this was the right choice considering the world. Every precaution was taken by staff and we felt very safe. From the gorgeous ocean front room, which I felt was worth it, to the great restaurants, Italian I liked the best, Japanese the least. You download their app and the menus, schedules of days open were all updated daily. The app was a great way to find out how and where things were. I would advise you to have them turn the room temp down to 18 Celsius or you will be warm. The pool area bar is closed and drinks can take a bit to come but Consuela, and Ariana took care of us. Carlos and Yordan were the pool entertainment guys and always had a smile on their faces. Our butlers Anna and Marco took great care of us and I used a cart that came to get me when I needed to go a little distance. It's not a huge place but my walking is not good and they were helpful, esp. Leo and Assai. Bring plastic straws with you for drinks. The paper ones get nasty fast.
