We will be coming back again! Loved our security, comfort and luxury! The staff were very friendly and helpful, we came in the slow season which meant it was very secluded and we loved that! Best on the island!

    Casual Elegance At It's Best!!!

My husband and I had the privilege to stay at Las Verandas during the week of Thanksgiving 2019. We had a beautiful 1 bedroom villa right on the water and the accommodations were first class! I had reserved a 1 bedroom with kitchen and living area. We also had a lovely plunge pool that we really didn't use much because the community pools were so nice and tranquil. Before I get too much into room description, I have to take a moment to compliment the staff at the desk. They were absolutely great from the time I made the reservations, until we checked out. They made us feel like no request or question was too big/small and all were important! Arrangements were made for us to be greeted at the airport and driven back to the resort so we didn't have to rent a car until we were ready. When we were ready to rent a car, they assisted with that as well and the whole process went smoothly. My husband and I had so many questions regarding the island and each question was answered helpfully and with so much grace. I would certainly have no problem placing my vacation in their hands again! Speaking of staff, I also have to compliment the staff that waited on us at both the bar and grill as well as the restaurant. During our week there, they made us feel like family. They always made us feel so welcome and honored each request to perfection! Also, the grounds were kept immaculate and lovely! We ate several breakfasts, lunches and dinners at the resort and I can say in all honesty we did not have one bad meal! The food was wonderful! I would especially recommend the seafood stew served with a side of jasmine rice... INCREDIBLE!! However, it was all great! Every meal! Our villa was perfect! The decor was tasteful and the place immaculate. The wifi and satelite TV were excellent and consistent. The bathroom luxurious with a separate shower and large tub for soaking. There was plenty of vanity space for us both with nothing left undone. The toiletries provided were quality and the robes left for us were very comfortable. As lovely as our villa was, my favorite part was actually the veranda of our villa. It was large, well furnished and overlooking the ocean. Simply beautiul! In addition to the 2 lovely infinity pools onsite by the bar and grill, the resort offers a private beach. Kayaks are available free to the guests and can be used to paddle out to an old shipwreck that is great for snorkeling! If that isn't enough, as a guest, you also have access to Pristine Bay's beach club, which has one of the largest and most incredibly beautiful pools I have ever seen and I have seen A LOT of pools, people! This one is designed for wading, relaxing and sunning. It winds about, has a couple of small islands in it and even a fountain at one end. There are sunbeds and more for your comfort as well as a bar and grill adjacent to the pool. You also have access to Pristine Bay's beautiful private beach, tennis courts and one of the most adventurous 18 hole golf courses (The Black Pearl) I have ever seen! This Pete Dye built course is so much fun! So be sure when you stay at Las Verandas to take advantage of your access to Pristine Bay's Beach and Golf Club as well. Now for the tough stuff I cannot leave out. Only on the beach, there lives a tiny sand fly the natives call "no-see-ums". They are too small to normally notice and they inject some kind of numbing chemical in their bites so you don't feel them until later. The first time you go down to the beach, you might notice small red spots all over you. If you don't scratch them, most likely they will resolve in a couple of hours. However, after the first time, you will most likely react more to the venum the next time so that you will look like you were bitten by tons of mosquitoes, but you weren't, it's the "no-see-ums" at work! I understand if you continue to live on the island, after a few months you become immune to the venum, though they still bite, however, most of us will not be on Roatan long enough to develop immunity. Mosquito repellent doesn't work for these critters, coconut oil does as well as a special formula you can purchase at the store. Note**This pertains to ALL the beaches on the island, but as long as you are slathered up in the oil, you will be fine. Also, Pristine Bay, as well as Las Verandas, are currently owned by the bank and looking for a buyer. What does that mean to you? Not much really as we didn't detect any lapse in service due to this situation. The only problem is you will see many villas were started but have yet to be finished so once you get away from the beach front accommodations, you will see some of these sad little unfinished buildings. Just don't let it bother you. I am hopeful the right investor will come along and take what is already a fabulous place to the next incredible level. I know we plan on staying here again. The location is perfect. Not too far from West End, centrally positioned on the island so close to restaurants and shopping, but away from the more hectic crowds and tourist activities. In summary, this is a beautiful place to stay, play, relax, be spoiled and enjoy! It is also very family friendly. I highly recommend it! It is truly one of the most luxurious resorts on the island

The 2 bedroom villa was beautiful. 2nd bedroom is upstairs w/ outside entrance. Internet worked well up there because modem was up there. Staff was very nice. Elaine was a huge help at the front desk for us getting transferred to another resort. The villas that are done are nice, but there are about 6 that look like a ghost town. The sidewalk stops, they don't have windows or are boarded up and they should really clean up the weeds around them to make them look better. I guess they haven't sold so they aren't done. There is no-one there. It doesn't hold alot of people but you'd be alone at breakfast /dinner and even by the pool you'd be lucky if there were 2 more people out with you. We were only there 2 nights. Pools are nice but do need some tile fixing. Beach is so-so. Not soft sand. Food was very good. Surprised due to the lack of people staying there. Would recommend it if you want to go away and be alone. Do not recommend if you need some entertainment. It is close to the store. Would recommend getting your own food/drinks as fruity drinks were $8 + 18% alcohol charge + 10% service charge so they added up quickly. Since we weren't there long we didn't do that. Overall it's nice, but very different.

The rooms were gorgeous, the food was great, the staff was so hospitable!! Kimberly and Elaine made you feel welcome from the second you arrived. Alfredo helped us out with drives into town, information about different events and places on the island and always a friendly smile! Karen greeted us every morning at breakfast with a smile and friendly banter. It felt like being at a home away from home! Throw in a gorgeous hotel and staff that went overboard on making your stay more comfortable....I will definitely be back!
