Reasonable place to stay but don’t expect luxury or great service. The staff is not very friendly, almost seem unhappy to be there. Rooms need to remodeled. We stayed in a “ocean view room” with barely any view at all. Most hotels would call that a partial ocean view. Don’t pay extra for that. Overall good beach, but lacking services. You feel like no one works there and you are on your own, which could be good or bad depending what you like. I would say spend a little more and go elsewhere.

    Wonderful resort on Grace Bay

We spent 8 wonderful days at Royal West Indies, which is a very nice and well maintained property located directly on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Grace Bay. Our room was spacious and very clean, the bed and the pillows were comfortable, so we could rest well. We understood the mattresses have been recently changed, so they were new or almost new. The room had a kitchenette, which was equipped with fridge, microwave, coffee machine and a toaster. There were plates, glasses, cups, coffee, sugar. We bought food from the supermarket nearby and had breakfast on our terrace. Since the room was at the ground floor, we had a lovely garden with flowers and palm tress just in front of our terrace. There was a big TV, AC, safe, washing machine and clothes drier in the room...Basically everything that one needs. The property has several pools, but we did not use them, as we went every day to the beach. The hotel is located right on Grace Bay, at its quiet end. Sun beds and umbrellas are provided to the hotel guests. The beach and the water are just AMAZING. We have visited many beautiful places around the world (Maldives, Seychelles etc), but Grace Bay definitely impressed us! Long, wide, with super fine white sand, crystal clear turquoise water, quiet, relaxing. From the hotel one could borrow (free of charge) bicycles to go to the nearby supermarket. It took us about 10min from the hotel to the supermarket by bicycle and maybe 15-20min by foot. The bicycles would need maintenance. They aren't in a good shape (but can be used). The supermarket had quite a lot of items and the quality of food was very good (like in the US or Europe). The prices were very high though. During our stay there were some problems with the electricity on the entire island. We did not have electricity for about 24h. It was very annoying because we could not use the AC (and it was very hot without it) and we had food in the fridge (luckily not much and we managed "to save it" by moving it to the freezer, where it stayed cool till the electricity was back). It wasn't RWI's fault, as the whole island was affected. But it would have been good if they had its own generator (they actually had one for the reception, but not for the rooms). Also we would have expected that someone announces us what is happening, but we did not get any news, unless we asked at the reception (and the receptionists were already quite annoyed since all guests were coming and asking). They did offer coffee, water and pizza slices at the reception that day. The receptionists were overall polite, but they did not seem very interested to help us with information about the island. We asked questions, they gave us short answers and that was it. On the other hand, the maids were very nice, every time we met them we had nice conversation and found out interesting information about the Caribbean region. The gardeners do an excellent job at RWI. We saw them working hard every day and the results were great: the green areas, the flowers, everything looked lovely. There was a restaurant on the property which served delicious, but expensive food. Nearby (5min walk) there was another restaurant (just on the street) with cheaper food (and very good). Otherwise not much around RWI, one would need to rent a car to go to other restaurants, shops etc. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Royal West Indies Resort.

We stayed at the Royal West Indies Resort for several nights at the end of May. The Turks was amazing. The Thursday Fish Fry is an absolute must do. Coco Bistro restaurant was amazing and wonderful ambience. We were 100% happy with the resort, and our room had what had to be the best view in the whole resort. Building 1 where we were is the only one that had direct ocean front views. Request 2nd or 3rd floor. The resort was small, but it was just wonderful. I would highly recommend it. The small restaurant and bar on site were wonderful, and the daily happy hour was great, and while we didn’t spend much (indeed hardly any) time at the pool, the pools were nice and there is one that is a “quiet pool”. Beautiful, well maintained resort. Granted, not overly fancy, and the rooms were very simple, but clean. If there was a downside it was the water pressure in the shower, but that certainly didn’t detract from the trip for us. Free bikes which we took one day to the grocery store, and one day to a French bakery. The excursion we did to half moon bay and iguana island was somewhat of a highlight also and it had to be one of the prettiest places we’ve ever seen—simply beautiful. I''d say as far as excursions go, this is a must do. They also had free hobie cats which is always fun and which we took advantage of. If we ever go back to the Turks, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. (The casino down the road was sort of ‘meh’, but that’s not why we went anyway).

We stayed 4 nights here and not one issue! (Maybe stronger shower head and softer sheets if I need to find something). AC worked amazingly well, washer and dryer was a plus, clean, friendly staff EVERYWHERE! We had the pool to ourself most the time. It’s HUGE and often empty. There are smaller pools as well which were just as clean and quiet. No rocks or seaweed and very wide beach. Always chairs available on the beach. I have never seen whiter or bluer water anywhere!! They have bikes , Hobie cats, paddle boards as well. Ask for “beach view” and you won’t have to walk far to the beach or pool. (Ocean view is not the same as beach view). No glitches or issues upon check out. They will call a taxi for you whenever needed and staff is extremely professional which I found at most places on the island.

    Love it!

The resort itself is comprised of residential suites. Our room was comfortable and clean. We were located very close to the most beautiful beach I have ever been on. The sand is like powder and the water a brilliant collection of aquas and blues. While there is an independently run restaurant on site, we were within a mile of multiple restaurants. We walked because cabs are expensive and charge per person.
