“What is there not to like”

Turco1925 (Woodford Green, United Kingdom) on Oct 17, 2021

Anyone familiar with walking along the Beach will have noticed the boat with the above title, I felt it was a perfect title and sums up not just the beautiful Island of Barbados and it’s friendly people but Waves Hotel too. This is my second visit, and again I could not fault anything, the staff go out of their way to make sure you want for nothing,Sabrina, Chad, Tanya R, Pamela to name just a few, they genuinely love what they are doing, and the management are just as pro active. Rooms are spacious and I would recommend paying the extra and having a sea view. Beach lovely and clean with plenty of beds, water sports etc,. alternatively the adults pool and spa across the road, nice touch with the complimentary spa treatments. Good choice of food and drinks, try Sisho restaurant too. Thank you Waves cannot wait to see you all again soon.

Magical memories 5*

I am writing this review on the last day of my holiday , laying on the tranquil beach surrounded by beautiful weather and sea. 1st must say glad we picked this hotel , when we arrived was greeted by most friendly staff at reception who got us a lovely cool cocktail , much needed after our journey. Also our room was upgraded to a seaview free of charge which was wonderful. Food was amazing, choice of two restaurants, both were amazing, you could also go to sister hotels for lunch or dinner, but you need to book. Staff cant do enough for you, they are all amazing , Pamela, sabrina, tanya, melissa, joy, chadderton, kim, ryan, too many to mention all but they all go above and beyond to make your stay special so a big thankyou to you all. Very covid safe too, temperature taken, sanitised stations around hotel, masks worn felt very safe. Went into bridgetown, and oisins by bus which u can get outside hotel , that's worth a trip also swam with turtles, which was a magical moment, another worthwhile trip . Nothing negative to add , just a magical e experience , and will definitely be returning.

We were moved to Waves as Turtle Beach was closed. on arrival the outside area is very disappointing no glamour to it at all, the smell from the drains is horrendous, very small reception area, staff were friendly, room and balcony were nice, bathroom needs attention, tiles floor ect, beds comfortable, cleaned daily, we were located on the ground floor end room next to tress so the amount of mosquitos in our room was a nightmare, we had everything going from deep, aftersun with mozzie repellent, even went and got citronella oil, bit to bits, killed loads in the room, there was a cleaning cupboard next to our room, cleaners used it from 6am which was noisy and door covered in mozzies, we were woken early every morning by cleaners in that room! Bar staff were friendly and made lots of drinks of your choice, bar closed at 11pm which was disappointing and only entertainment 4 nights out of 10, some of them very good, by 11pm everyone had gone to bed except us! Bar is open so yet aga in mozzies were out in force! Main restaurant was OK but quite chotic at times, the best restaurant was over the road at the Asian Restaurant food was lovely , Spa is ok and pool is across a busy road, best thing about this hotel is the beach and sea views, all staff work hard on beach, Chad and Pam are superb, bringing drinks lollies grapes, staff on the free water activities are great also, we used the dine around programmes with the water taxis, we preferred Treasure Beach Hotel a walk along from Simon Cowell and Rhiannas house, We went on cool running catamaran which was fab, Covid tests at the airport were brutal! However the fun we had outweighed the negatives.

A beautiful hotel and an amazing holiday

Sarah F (Norwich, United Kingdom) on Oct 13, 2021

We stayed at Waves in September and really couldn't have had a better experience. We had an ocean front room with an amazing view which I would really recommend and would say it was worth the upgrade. The staff were all lovely and so helpful. You can really tell the extra effort they have made to make everything as 'COVID secure' as possible. The food was some of the best we have had at an all inclusive resort. Other nice touches included the water sports and selected spa treatments being included. I would definitely recommend!

Disappointed, mislead and upsetting

Fearless64509143613 on Oct 10, 2021

We have just arrived at The Waves Hotel and Spa and to be quiet candid and frank, we are already regretting it! I really don’t know where to start. The hotel staff are polite enough, as one of the previous reviewers has said but that where it begins and ends!! To say that the hotel is tired, shabby and dated would be an understatement. I have already raised my issues with the hotel management and I have politely asked them to move us from this awful room no 528. This is the 3rd attempt for us to take our holiday to Barbados and I am beginning to regret coming to this hotel. We shall see if they are true to their word and try to move us to its sister hotel.
