We were treated rudely from the moment we walked into the front desk area. Could not use the kiosk to check in because we booked the hotel through Expedia and the confirmation number would not work. A front desk person HAD to help us and she was very rude.
Resort fee ripoff
(Freeport, Grand Bahama Island)
Oct 24, 2021
After paying a huge amount for the room, I was stung with a $50.00 USD / night "Resort Fee", which as most know, is just a method of reducing the displayed price to entice people to book the hotel.
Unlike other hotels nearby, there is only 1 pool, so it was crowded and the water so murky that it was difficult to see the bottom of the pool in broad daylight sunshine. The "Resort Fee" would have to relate to the pool, so should have been refunded. I love the water and am a pool and beach nut, but as soon as I walked out and took one look at the pool, I couldn't bring myself to go in. Awful. I didn't use the pool once in the 3 days I was there.
Time to bull dose down and build the new.

I guess the biggest shock when we registered at Paris was the $204.00 extra money we had to pay for the "Resort Fee". $50.00 a day. We had already paid Allegiant $1242.00 for a package vacation and nothing about an extra $50 day charge was mentioned. I could have come closer to understanding this if the hotel had been in better shape. Our carpet was threadbare, completely worn out. Smelly. The cleaning crew did not clean and I'm not this picky normally. BUT a rather large label (which everyone knows goes on the bottom) kept flapping in my face all 4 nights. Simple thing really. Why did they do it? And the shower was so old, dirty looking, and inefficient. Just sad really.
What was the $51 a day for??
Paris venue is a delight

The Rooms are well appointed, the casino atmosphere is wonderful and the staff very efficient and courteous. Be careful with upgrade notices via e-mail. Not being technically accomplished was costly upon checkout.
Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, stuck in a smoking room

The hotel itself is beautiful. The services on site are great. The front-of-the-house staff should get an award, and the people in the package/mail room are absolute heroes. The location makes it easy to reach basically anything on the strip and there are convenient pick up spots for Uber and Lyft (figure about $10 for a ride to most places in town).
My only gripe, and it is a big one- was the room. The bed was fine, the bathroom was fine, the view was the back alley between the Paris and Bally's. All fine. My problem was my room. It was on the 16th floor, which is apparently a smoking floor. I didn't ask for, book, or want, a smoking room. Unfortunately they were so booked full I was unable to be moved to different accommodations. To be clear- I'm not mad at the staff, and certainly had no intentions of taking it out on them. I spoke to a manager who was obviously, and I believe genuinely, upset that they couldn't help.
I kept all of my personal effects in the bathroom in the hopes that the tile and glass would emit less of the smell than the fabric of the room itself. No such luck. I would have been better off sleeping on the floor of the trade show I was attending. So today I'm dry cleaning shirts and ties. I'm washing everything I brought with me- including clothing I didn't wear. I'm trying to figure out how to get the smell of smoke out of my luggage.
The situation wasn't my fault, but it became my problem. I'm not saying I wouldn't give them another shot if I came back- But I'd be very careful about confirming a reservation on a non-smoking floor BEFORE giving them a credit card.
