We had the best experience.

We had a wonderful stay for our 10 days in Costa Rica. We were there for 10 days and every person we met was friendly and helpful. Our room was adequate... not over the top but clean, cool, and maintained. Perfect? No. I would guess that due to covid they are a little short staffed but every person we saw was busy and working hard to meet the guests needs and I could never ask for more than that. The buffet was standard Costa Rican fair, which suited us just fine, and it was always good, hot, and fresh with friendly servers. This was our first time to Costa Rica and we don't speak Español so I wasn't sure what to expect, but we had no trouble communicating our needs or getting help. We also weren't sure what to expect as far as tipping in an all inclusive resort. We took money expressly for that purpose, and spent it accordingly, but there was never one single time that we felt it was expected or that it had an affect on our level of service. I don't want to write a novel but suffice it to say we will go back and have no regrets.

This was the first international trip my wife of 32 years had ever taken. She did exhaustive research to find a facility that would provide the comprehensive package at a reasonable price point. Transport from Liberia Airport was pleasant and educating. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted in English and Spanish. Check-in was a breeze and addressed any concerns we may have had at the moment. Our bellman, Claudio, was friendly and engaging. We felt at ease almost immediately. The grounds were clean and in good repair. Visually everything was exactly as you would expect for a beachfront resort. Having travelled to Hawaii on numerous occasions we found many pleasant similarities. On entering our room we found a pre-cooled fairly stylish and functional layout. A comfortable king bed with linens in good repair. Occasional chairs and side table, desk and stocked mini-fridge. Beer, soda and bottled water. Floors were clean, drapes for the balcony were in good condition and function properly. The bathroom was a shower, sink and vanity and toilet. All surfaces were clean and all condiments and supplies were new and sanitary. There were minor issues that can easily be attributed to the environment. We arrived late afternoon in between meal periods at the restaurant. We were able to get a cheeseburger and fries and adult beverages at the poolside snack bar. All the servers were polite and responsive, most addressing our requests in basic English. This fact was something we were profoundly grateful for as we are visitors to a Spanish speaking country. Our very basic ability to converse in Spanish was fostered by the willingness of all the staff to offer tutelage in order to improve communication. The evening meal was pleasant although we were not quite acclimated to the humidity. The food offering consisted of local Costa Rican fare along with established standards most Americans would be accustomed to. Fresh fruits and loaves of bread, a variety of salad choices and the ever-changing dessert options made for enjoyable meals. All the servers were again pleasant and responsive. The restaurant manager, Alberto, is a superbly nice man. He runs a very smooth operation and all guests received the best of service. Our stay was 10 days. During this time we were able to take advantage of almost every offering at the resort. The Kyoto Japanese restaurant was a very nice indulgence and reservations were a breeze. The activities staff were some of the most energetic employees I have ever seen. These people love their jobs. All in all it was a refreshing and enjoyable stay. I would recommend this for families of all sizes. there is something for everyone. DO NOT BE CONFUSED. IF YOU WANT THE RITZ-CARLTON THEN PAY THAT PRICE AND GO THERE. This is a solid facility doing what I feel is their level best to provide the best guest experience in this new normal we live in.
