Three wonderful days with my kids at the Fairmont Montebello. Even though COVID has many activities closed, the staff do their best to assist, to make you feel at home and to enjoy our stay at the hotel. We have done the trails, the skating, sitting outside by the fire, ordering delicious meals in the room and this afternoon we get to play indoor tennis. This has also been the best place for the kids to do their online classes and at the same time enjoy the outdoors. Extremely grateful at the staff, as everyone has been wonderful. Many times you go back to a place because the way you were treated and the staff at the Chateau Montebello has been above and beyond! Merci!
Relaxing atmosphere and perfect service

The service was excellent. Staff is polite and professional. There was lots of room in the lobby to sit in front of the fire and relax and play games with the family. Food was excellent although had to be delivered to room because of Covid restrictions. Extremely rapid service. Massage at the spa was booked last minute... excellent service. The chasseur who took care of our luggage both on arrival and departure was very pleasant; ensured we had everything we needed. He noticed we were missing a water boiler in the room which is super important to me so he went and found us one and got us some ice. He made us a nice fire in the lobby Sunday morning, he ensured we stayed warm and he interacted with my kids. Very nice, he told them about Christmas elves and the Christmas spirit at the Chateau. He's a star employee for sure. I must say that ALL the staff we interacted with were pleasant. From phone enquires to meal service, We really enjoyed ourselves. I am a nurse in charge of infection control of a retirement home. Been overworked and overstressed over the past 2 years. This one night made all the difference, thank you!
Amazing resort but sub-par dining experience
Jan 02, 2022
The booking process (directly through the hotel reservations team) was efficient, the resort itself was beautiful, the staff were friendly, and checkin/checkout were easy. The outdoor activities that we tried were all enjoyable (though the 50-minute horse-drawn sleigh ride could probably be made more engaging with the drivers). The room was average, which we expected as we booked one of the non-renovated rooms. The only real downside of our stay was the dining experience. For dinner we ate at the resort restaurant (Aux Chantignoles). My main dish wasn't great, my wife's main dish was very poorly prepared, my son's main dish was way under-portioned (even for a kids menu item), and the dessert platter was something you could get at any average restaurant. For breakfast we ordered room service. One of our three dishes was wrong, one of the condiments was missing, we received more drinks than I ordered, and the dishes were all Texas-sized. We got the incorrect dish replaced with the right one, however we didn't complain any further as we felt bad that the hotel was facing the devastating situation of government-imposed restaurant shutdowns later that day due to the pandemic (meaning no in-restaurant dining on New Years Eve, thus numerous guest cancellations). All that said, the executive chef of this restaurant should be replaced, as they seem to lack both the vision for offering refined dishes, and lack the leadership to ensure the kitchen delivers the dishes flawlessly.
When magic meet the matchless

Known as the world’s largest log cabin, the magical host of 10,000 red cedar logs from British Columbia is simply an architectural masterpiece. Courteously greeted by the staff, we entered in the lobby, eyes fascinated by the six sided stone fireplace that rises 20 metres to the roof. We had a gorgeous room on the second floor, very well appointed. We wanted to celebrate my 60th birthday in style and we did not fail in our attempt. Furthermore, I had an anniversary gift from the hotel. What a kind gesture. Exploring the hotel was charming and exciting. Private chairs for reading, overlooking the truly amazing fireplace and the historic photographs adorning the walls catch your eye. Finally, the largest swimming pool of any hotel in North America awaits to be discovered, via an underground walkway. Several interesting choices of outdoor activities would be offered during the stay. Breakfast buffet was tasty along with a good service. We had a memorable evening at Aux Chantignoles restaurant; the meal was fabulous along with the exquisite choice of wine. Bottom line, it was an unforgettable stay, we highly recommend Fairmont Le Château Montebello.

Well, we just can’t stop talking about our stay at Chateau Montebello ! The level of outstanding service right from the information/security at the the main entrance to the counter , restaurant staff, concierge, outdoor events people , Felix on the luge sliding etc … was just unreal ! This place is so well run and it shows big time . Everyone is super helpful , courteous and just outstanding in service . We just can’t wait to go back again . The food was over the top with quality, portions and service ! We had a gift basket to our room daily .. totally unexpected and the whole experience of service , decor , activities was outstanding!!! Can’t say enough and as far as the value we received…we are not sure how they made any money as it was an all inclusive and we couldn’t eat all the food that was available!!! It seemed we are the entire trip !
The activities were well done with Santa on Christmas Day , the decor was amazing and tasteful . I can go in and on but I’m sure you get the idea . Highly , highly recommend Chateau Montebello !!!!!
