Convenient location , average rooms in an aged property

Location - 3 to 5 mins walk from Times Square, convenient for the theatres . Service - check in staff was efficient and courteous. Some other staff I came across were not as polite and friendly… (but then again, this is NYC ) Room - I was assigned a room on the 16th floor . The room was spacious but everything in that room appeared old - a makeover is much needed. And better sound proofing is needed - the gentleman next door was working all morning, and I could hear most of his conversation… No more westin times sq for me

Horrible start to our return visit to New York

Such horrible service. Lifetime platinum as of today and we were not offered an upgrade or a gift. The staff was so rude at checkin. I get it covid has sucked for everyone but we had an amazing dinner out and the staff at the restaurant bent over backwards and were so appreciative. The staff at this hotel could care less about their guests. Do better.

Kinda…dirty

Overall the lobby is great, the convenience store is great, the location is great. Our actual room though…is filthy. And not in a “we didn’t have time to deep clean between way, like a they haven’t cleaned the bathroom in maybe a month way ??. They also said they couldn’t register our stay with our bonvoy # but I don’t know why ??. A 3/5 Bc I have no idea what the sanitary expectations of nyc hotels are, but ick?

Not what you expect from a Westin

mother daughter weekend away to see broadway shows. cons: no valet parking here, but the bellhop was helpful and offered to park my car for me. parking garage is across the street. check-in line almost an hour wait, very disorganized and a lack of available room keys for those who checked in the day before contributed to the wait. hotel bar doesn't open until 5:30 pm. breakfast buffet was sad and in a basement. room lacked ambiance and amenities you would expect from a westin. no robe/slippers,no shower caps, no extra towels or washcloths, no couch or chair to sit on, very little/poor lighting - room was very dark, beat up furniture scratched and didn't function well, no mini fridge, no extra blanket, just very bare bones. very sad, poor view of another very seedy hotel. charged you an extra $30 per day that you could contribute toward some experiences but if you didn't use it you were charged anyway. some pros: very centrally located, walking to all theaters, beds were clean and comfortable with nice linens, lots of pillows. room was clean. elevator quick and fast. nice shower head-big rain fall. in general if you plan to travel to NYC for broadway shows i would suggest staying outside of times square and walking/traveling to your shows. times square is very run down, overcrowded and seedy. homelessness every few steps you take. tour operators hound you the second you walk out your hotel. times square very overcrowded, dirty and smelly. restaurants are run-down and overcrowded catering to theater goers mass produced food they kind of throw at you. i suggest staying midtown/columbus circle area or another quaint NYC neighborhood and making reservations outside the theater district. that being said, the shows are amazing and i love NYC and keep coming back for more!!

Great Experience

Loved the Westin Nicole checked me in early and my room was amazing. The hotel is in the middle of everything you need plus Broadway plays! The only thing I noticed in the room was I had no wash cloths and no pen and pad, the maid forgot or ran out but it didn't bother me. Checking out was flawless Nicole checked me out always smiling and genuinely nice! I will return to the Westin.
