Gorgeous lobby,…rooms. Super friendly front desk, professional but fun bartenders! Helpful and always courteous concierge. Staff was obviously trained to promote the hotel and the city. They do it very well. ??

Things are much less polished…

For the price of this hotel, I think it deserves a bad review. This is my 2nd time staying at the Fairmont SF; the first time (2018) was incredible. I even happily joined their loyalty program. This recent visit (Sept 4-11) left a lot to be desired. First, my room on the 21st floor has an absolutely incredible view of the bay. Also, the bellmen are so wonderful and kind. Everything else in this hotel is sub-par. The room has a gnat problem. The furniture is stained. The breakfast that I absolutely adored my first visit was obviously stale this time. The bed is horribly lumpy, and it gave me back pains. During one night of my week-long stay there was a wedding on the 24th floor that left me unable to sleep. The music, DJ, and guests sounded like they were right above my head. I called the front desk at midnight, and the response I got was apathetic. I spoke with the manager the next morning, and she apologized, which was great. I asked her to look into some sort of accommodations she could make for my troubles. (This hotel is not cheap! I felt they should’ve advised us of the wedding beforehand.) She said she would look at my account to see what she could do. I never heard from her again. A lot of good that loyalty program does, huh? I will not return to the Fairmont SF, as I didn’t feel valued or respected.
