Roc Hotel Presidente is located in the centre of La Havana, Cuba, with Cuban colonial inspiration and historical pieces of art in its interiors. Immerse yourself in the real essence of Cuba at this historical hotel.
I spent 5 days of quarantine during the covid pandemic there. Food was basic and lacked creativity. Customer service from the bellboy and the IT technician were none whatsover. The bellboy expected a tip before he even picked up my luggages besides the fact that he was dragging them. After that incident on the day i was checking out he decided not to help bring the luggages downstairs for which i had to do it myself. Whereas for the IT technician, i paid for wifi during my stay and apparently i was being logged off the system without having done so…i called the front desk and asked if there was an issue with the wifi…after 30mins the bellboy was sent upstairs to tell me that there was nothing wrong and that i should check if my phone had a problem. The technician never called to ask what the issue was nor did he come upstairs and check the routers. Be aware there is no such thing called customer service or customer support in this hotel. The only people capable or amicable were the cleaning lady(camarera) and the lady at the front desk. Hope they sincerely read this and use it as constructive criticism.
Stopped for coffee
Apr 28, 2020
During our ride on the Havana bus we saw a nice looking cafe outside the Presidente Roc Hotel and decided to get off the bus and sit for a while, have a coffee and enjoy the view out to the street. The service was a little slow but eventually they came to us with a menu from which we ordered some light snacks, cappuccino and a latte. They came out promptly with the coffees. It took a little longer to bring out the snacks but I must say they were nice and hot, fresh and tasty. The best part of our visit here was the view of the busy street and watching all the cars and people going about their daily life. It made for great entertainment and was very interesting just seeing it all on such a beautiful sunny day. The cost of our snacks and coffees was reasonable inline with this being a 4 star hotel. While waiting for the bus to come back we looked inside the lobby and it was very elegant with 1920s or 1930s type decor inside. We also had a look at the pool area which was next to the lobby and it was very inviting. Not sure what the cost of a room here is but that's certainly a lot more than the Casa particular where we were staying.
