The resort is very well laid out-& very well maintained - very easy to get around & very well thought out. Our room (Tula suite) was large & very comfortable. Bed & a/c was great (just wish they had feather pillows). There are so many activities available here (golf, beautiful lit tennis courts, hiking & biking trails, snorkeling, kayaking, jetskis, scuba) that we will have to come back to do them all - great lagoon area for swimming too. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Recommend renting a car (very reasonable rental fees, ie $33/day) for your entire stay as taxis to/from airport ($70 one way + tip) & to/from town ($40 one way + tip) get expensive. Also recommend driving around the island & seeing the sights.

Want a resort with no pool staff to disturb you for pool volleyball etc, no loud speakers, no trying to get up early to reserve a lounge, lots of trees to provide shade, away from the beaten path - ie no hassle, then this is the resort. Well spread out and only 3 stories, it seems you are in a small resort, not one with 350 rooms. Rooms are relatively large with small refrigerator to keep your drinks cool. Good sized balconies with the best most comfortable chairs I have ever experienced going south. Although they have a limited number of restaurants and it is very expensive taking taxis to restaurants outside the resort, one can easily get by for the week. The Shore is one of the best in Curacao - make reservations - closed Mon & Tue - you will not be disappointed. The Medi has one of the best breakfasts in the Caribbean - open at 6:30 - has coffee machines to make excellent take away cappuccino and cafe latte. Best burgers at The Splash or Beach BBQ. Belle Italiano for thin crust pizza and mini mart for beer, wine, soft drinks. If you are a golfer, you have to try out the Old Quarry GC with the Pro Shop beside The Shore restaurant - first 2 holes with sea on right and 2 club wind directly in your face. Remaining holes go all over the plantation - a lot of fun but bring lots of balls. $345 USD for 3 rounds was well worth the cost. Staff were very friendly and easy to talk too - Francheska at The Shore and MAgelina and Mary at The Medi went out of their way - knew our names and drinks after first day Not everything perfect - before booking, check difference between breakfast only or all inclusive plans. With Air Canada Vacations breakfast plan was approx $4000 CAD per couple less. We only spent $1600 CAD on food and drinks over the week saving a bundle. Also some restaurants give you a receipt and some do not - they all should so you can confirm final amount. The Santa Barbara Resort is highly recommended and we fully intend to return - after over 40 years going south in winter for a golf vacation, we may have found the location!

Overall the resort is a great place to stay just not eat. We stayed in a sea traditions area which was very nice and relaxing. Having a pool basically to ourselves and the few others staying in the same area. Defiantly worth paying extra to stay in the Sea Traditions if you want to be away from the main resort crowd. Resort is a little bit a way from town and restaurants which is why the lower score. We had several issues at both Shore and Splash that distracted from the stay.

    Great Resort!

The Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort was everything we hoped for. Beautiful grounds and facilities, friendly efficient staff and a gorgeous beach. You do need to rent a car for day trips to fully enjoy the island.
