We planned this trip to celebrate our 52nd anniversary and our oldest daughter’s birthday. Through Westjet Vacations we bought two weeks at the Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff on Kailua-Kona. We were checked into Room 616, a 2-bedroom ocean view suite. The room has a great view, very spacious, but very needy of a renovation. A big benefit of the room was a nice patio on the shady side of the complex. We expressed concern about the need for renovation and Outrigger management was good to show us alternate rooms. All were on the sunny balcony-side so we decided not to go through the pain of a mid-stay move. We would start here again but ask for ocean front, shady-side suite.

Our extended family spent a wonderful week in Kailua-Kona at the Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff. The group ranged in ages from 13 to 70 and everyone had a wonderful time. The facility is very conveniently located and we had no difficulty getting to any of our destinations. The hotel was too far for us to walk to Kailua on a consistent basis although it was certainly doable if so inclined. Our room was clean with utilitarian furniture. The highlight was the beautiful view out the balcony. My wife and I enjoyed watching daylight spread over the ocean. There are also some birds that will miss their daily feeding. If you are a morning coffee person, we recommend the walk down to the Green Flash. Da Poke Shack is also within walking distance from the hotel and is terrific. We also enjoyed Gekko Girls Shave Ice which is very nearby. Our rooms were very quite. Our one complaint was that the wifi signal was not great. With two teenagers in the group, this was the focus of some discussion. It goes without saying that I was disappointed that they unplugged while in Hawaii.

We stayed at the Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff December 2019 and travelled with another couple. Our condo was a 2 bedroom unit on the 7th floor with a spectacular ocean view. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and a tv. There is a washer and dryer and a safe in the condo as well as a pull out couch. There are board games available to borrow from the front desk and free weekly activities such as lei making, hula show and music. All activities are held by one of the 2 pools on the property and appetizers are served. There is ample parking both outside and underground and elevators if you don't want to take the stairs. The staff is very approachable and friendly. There is a mandatory cleaning fee payable upon departure but no resort fee, parking fee, WiFi fee or other hidden fee. They are currently upgrading some of the condos and although ours was still slightly outdated, it more than met our needs.

This was our first Location during our Honeymoon in Hawaii. When we arrived they haven't been informed that we are honeymooner but they offered us nut-chocolate. Unfortunately cause of a high nut allergy we had to decline the offer. They haven't offered anything else and this made us upsad as we have paid a lot of money for this condo. The condo was okay, the ocean view as booked and on our last day there was a Hula event with really traditional Hula dances and a small Laua which was delicious. Not far from the shopping spots but still in a quiet area. Some people live there always and they are really friendly! All in all okay but if you are Honeymooner and don't want to be in a hotel I guess you can find a better condo for less money! We have cleaned everything as dirt will bring you ants inside and actually we are not people who make a lot of dirt but we still had to pay this hilarious cleaning fee!

Reading the other review, we may have gotten lucky with the room. We had a great view of the ocean. The place was a little muggy until we found the AC, which worked fine. We made ample use of the provided laundry facilities (and since they were in our spacious bathroom, we could use them at any hour.) Despite being on the ocean, there is no ocean access from the property. There are two pools and a hot-tub, though, and we spent a relaxing evening on-site. There is a pleasant garden running through the complex, which was nice to walk by as we went to and from the pool. And of course there's lots of ocean access nearby -- we walked to both tide pools and a beach. There are grills on-site for guests, and our unit was stocked with lots of big towels, snorkel gear, etc.
