overall nice hotel, great location for family as, it is away from all the action but not too far of a walk to the action. staff was kind and very helpful. rooms were nice but, no fridge or microwave with I thought was completely odd for a doubletree hotel. food options were VERY limited in the hotel as, no room service or food services offered at the pool only drink service offered. room service was poor as, someone's extremely dirty face towel was left in the bathroom upon arrival and long blond hairs were everywhere in the bathroom. something purple (possibly wax) on the bedroom ceiling and what appeared to be mouse poop in the bathroom lighting dome.

Took a quick trip down to Vega Summer 2019. Spent 3 nights at the Tropicana on a hotwire deal. the rooms were a little ( lot) dated) HOWEVER were a few steps from the casino floor, and pool. The pool was super low key, was able to take our own coffee and drinks in. We spent hours at the swim up black jack table and Tracey the pit boss was AMAZING!!! Randy the Craps dealer was unreal and took the time to teach us how to play. Greta bang for your buck and location, location, location!!!

Shawnelle checked us in with excellent service, put us in a room in Paradise tower on 19th floor with a view of the strip. Clean room, with a safe, beds slept very well. There were a lot of the signature bamboo furnishings still being used today which l thought was cool; that some choose to call dated. Pool was great and very enjoyable with drink service available and cabanas that can be rented for the day. Be prepared to wear your mask if you are not drinking or in the pool. There covid minded staff will ask you to put it on if not. Casino was fun, lots of slots, 15.00 crap table running 24/7. We felt very safe here and security was good. Food offerings are limited to Starbucks, Trop and go take out, and a Asian restaurant. Trop and go offerings were very good as we tried most of the offerings. Did not eat the Asian. Drink service was good and continued to be Nonstop throughout the casino. Taxi from airport to hotel is a 19.00 flat rate and they will call one for you if one is not waiting out front. RTC bus service for strip has a stop here and is a good way to get around town if you don't want to rent a car during your stay.

Stayed here many times in past too bad its gone to the pits. Checkin do you have anyone working here? Yes I know no valet but gees looks like a ghost town. Thanks was supposed to be in a Suite room, and you tried to put me in a normal room. Had to go back down wait in line etc. You take temps, why? Its 100' outside. I didnt have an issue but really. Property Looks DATED and OLD. Outside trash on ground in front near pool just everywhere. Does anyone walk the Property, never mind the answer is NO. The rooms really all the time you guys where closed maybe some touch up painting and steam cleaning the furniture. OH YEAH asked at Checkin if they cleaned rooms, " Yes of course" OH thanks maybe you shouldve said you have to CALL to have them clean the room. ITS A HOTEL not a HOSTEL. Food Starbucks fine why is only open till 2pm? Do expect to eat here the Tropn Go is a joke stand at the bar wait 15 minutes to order, we walked out. How can I go to other properties across street and they can serve people in a reasonable time. I wish I had a dollar for everyone I saw walking in with outside to go food,, I would be rich. AND another thing have someone that knows how to use your POS in Tropn Go. We ordered breakfast, no one there, and the guy behind us was ordering for 15 minutes never seen anything like it. Pool Oh poor Kaysie(sp) by herself taking orders for whole pool. She did a stellar job but gees give her some help. Pool Attendant sorry dont have name was great as well very helpful. Why do sprinklers come on twice a day in rear, good thing no one sitting there they would have been soaked. We love this location of hotel but will think twice on staying here again. I heard a 100 times people saying why the Heck did they even open up, they sure werent ready. DONT blame Covid either we walked whole strip and other properties were running as close to normal as possible.

Family Trip - solid hotel, small issues

The Good - I like the hotel because it is located at the end of the strip, making it easy access to highways to get out of Las Vegas. Unlike the larger casino-hotels there are no food courts or shops or large chain restaurants so it feels like a small hotel with a small casino. It's intimate and not overwhelming. It is also an easy walk to area attractions and, when the tram is running, a tram stop away from the entire strip. The rooms were clean, we were given a small refrigerator at no extra expense as we were there a week, and staff was beyond nice and professional. The Bad - The pool is only 68 degrees and is only open until 5 pm. The water temperature is SHOCKING in 100 degree heat, but we did do some swimming. The pool hours would make sense if the hotel had anything else to offer, but with everything else closed and a family on vacation, gambling is not an option. And the pool is the only thing holding us in the hotel, so we did not eat or drink at the Tropicana around the pool hours. The Ugly - The switch in our bathroom was broken and only turned on one light. If you tripped the breaker it would turn on the other lights. Maintenance came in and explained that it was a switch issue and it needed to be replaced. The hotel rooms are showing some wear, particularly in the replacement tub panels (cracking and peeling) and our tub drain gave up the ghost on our last night and just wouldn't empty the water. The outlets in the room are so old and worn that they will not hold a plug. They just kind of pathetically fall out when you put them in. We were quoted $37 for the resort fee, but charged $41. I'm not sure what the resort fee covered - the internet was spotty, the pool barely above freezing, and there were no amenities above and beyond what a hotel would charge. But location is location and it was convenient for us. The Unforgivable - The windows were unlatched and open on the 17th floor. When you have two young children this is horrifying to realize on day 3. We finally noticed that the street noise sounded too loud and I opened the blinds to find both windows opened. If someone had bumped into them they would have gone through them. We spent the week desert hopping, so each day we would head out to a different park or tourist spot - Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, Death Valley, Boulder Dam, Nelson Ghost Town and Mine, Rhyolite...we were all over the state every day so basically sleeping in the hotel.
