Very fast and friendly check in from front desk. Able to enjoy our time, while being CDC compliant. Location is very centralized to many other shops and eateries. Checked in for 2 days in July, came back and decided to come back an check in 4 nights in August. Will be back again.

Our 1st trip to Kauai & I'm so glad I switched my other reservation from another hotel to this property! We saved a bunch and still got great service with a condo layout. Our front desk agent, Phil was full of the Aloha Spirit. Check in was a breeze. Lots of parking with easy access to shops, restaurants and beaches nearby. Our unit was in the H Building with views of the ocean and mountains. Lots of tropical foliage throughout the property. Unit was clean, comfortable and just all we needed for our mini stay. Bed was comfy. Balcony was big. The beach right out in front isn't really a beach to swim at, mainly because of the current. We found a great beach especially if you have little ones. It's down the road, called Fujii Beach aka Baby Beach. We ate at various places in town like Monico's Mexican, Saimin Dojo, Kenji Burger and Wailua Shave Ice. Longs & Safeway are super close for any essential needs. We loved our stay and will return again. MAHALO TO THE ENTIRE STAFF!

I am a local that stayed here several times in the past, but this time it was awful and probably will never go here again. The reason I stayed here was because room is fairly big and hotel usually had a relax home feel. But this time the room had a dead flower, leaves & little pieces of trash on floor showing that they did not clean floors, I also found a pair of dirty shoes and a dirty diaper under bed!!!!! Room smells musky. Can u believe that?!? During times of Covid, u would think that they would be sure to clean rooms throughly. Gross !definitely made me wonder if they even wash the bed sheets. Besides all that they constantly on your ass, checking if all ur guest is registered, leaving tickets on cars without a pass on it, kicking people out of pool as soon as they check out, hotels usually let u swim all day even after u check out. I am just shocked! This hotel is outdated, basic pool nothing fancy, and they want to be on ur ass whole entire time like they something special, the manager should spend more time on making sure housekeeping is doing their job! I never leave rewiews, but made a account, just because this was the worst experience I’ve had staying at a hotel.

We arrived a bit early to check-in and instead of turning us away because our room wasn't ready yet we got upgraded. I think we were supposed to have a standard room and we got what felt like an apartment. Full-size fridge and stove. Everything was clean and I was never even woken up by a rooster. The property made me feel relaxed it was a perfect way to spend our honeymoon.

Great location, but parking and room maintenance were problems

We had a second floor suite, with no elevator available. This was not a problem for us. The unit was spacious. The kitchen was adequately equipped, and we fixed some meals there. The closet had beach chairs, a cooler, two boogie boards, and two sets of snorkel gear. The mattress was soft, and caved in badly on the edge. I slept sideways in order not to have a sore back. As instructed, we turned off the air conditioning while away. This too was fine; the room temperature was never an issue. The place is advertised as 100 yards from the beach. That is a bit generous. Even if you measure from the edge of the parking lot to the first bit of open sand, it is farther than that. Parking was a problem. We were in the very south end of building A. The nearest (southernmost) parking lot was smaller than others because the front desk is there. The lot was open to inhabitants of buildings A, B, and C, and was almost always full. People (including Security) frequently double-parked in the lot. The next parking lot borders buildings C, D, E, and F. Tenants of Building C could just as well park there. I never saw that second lot full, but it was a long walk for us, and not a pleasant one when you are lugging beach gear, muddy shoes, backpacks etc. back from a day out adventuring. Plantation Hale Suites really ought to restrict the small south lot to building A and B tenants only. Color-coded parking passes would make this easy. Speaking of the front desk, Phil was so incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Two thumbs up for Phil! Other than the mattress, we really had only one problem with our room, and it was a big one. The two sliding glass doors and sliding screen doors (one in the bedroom, one in the living room) were very difficult to open. The glass door in the bedroom even went off track once and I had to lift it back into place. The living room screen door appeared to be jammed, but I was able to jolt it into moving. Both pairs of doors were a huge problem the whole time during our stay. We frequently opened the doors, just to have fresh air, or to hang damp clothes outside on the deck to dry. We chose not to complain about it while we were there, because we didn’t want maintenance staff interrupting us. But the sliding doors could only have gotten as bad as they were through intentional neglect. We paid a lot in fees, 50% above the quoted nightly price. We deserved to not have to deal with neglected maintenance. Everything else was good. We were able to walk to the Coconut Marketplace, where there was a Chicken in an ABC Market, several shops, a Barrel BBQ restaurant, and a JoJo’s Shave Ice.
