Sheraton Universal Hotel

This location is my go to when I head to LA. Convenient to Burbank Airport and a nice walk to City Walk at Universal Studios. Staff is always friendly and the hotel is always clean. I have stayed here quite a few times and have enjoyed every visit.

Location of hotel is right next to Universal Studios and City Walk. Great spot if you want to be close to LA sties like Dolby Theater, and Mans Chinese theater, just about a 10-15 min drive. Marc at the valet will set the tone when you arrive. Have a sports question just ask him. Max at check in was just the best. We had a very small issue with out tv in the room, and he made sure it was taken care of right away. And Jesse at the bar was also fun and friendly, makes great drinks. Shuttle runs every 15 minutes to City Walk, or you can walk. But just know, it’s uphill from the hotel so a lot easier on the way back if you don’t want to wait. I would certainly stay here again.

We picked this hotel based on it's proximity to Universal Studios and it was great for that. The hotel is clean and large. The only king room they had left when we checked in was on the 1st floor, which we said was ok. Getting to the room felt like we were being sent down to the basement. The hallways were very long and narrow. Once we got to our room, it was a nice room, but strangely plain with what appeared to be sound proofing panels on the walls. They seemed to work, because the room was very quiet. There was a large sliding glass door on the room and you could open it and walk out onto a walkway. Once outside you could walk up and down beside all of the other rooms on the 1st floor. We found that to be a little creepy. We put our luggage in front of the door, so that if someone tried to get in, they would at least trip over all of our luggage!! The room was very clean and tidy. It was small, but we were mostly just there to sleep, so it was ok. The bathroom had a large walk in shower with great water pressure. The hotel has a shuttle that will take you to Universal City and we used it to take us to eat and then to Universal Studios. You have to pay to park and there is self parking. We were able to leave our vehicle in the parking while we spent the day at Universal, which was a great perk of this hotel. All in all, if you are planning on going to Universal, you can't go wrong with this hotel. We would stay here again if we ever come back to Universal.

Stayed here in December 2019 and used it a base for a day at Universal Studio and then a couple other trips into LA on the subway for studio tours and show tapings. We arrived really early and the front desk staff were happy to check us in. We couldn't get the room quite yet but they let us know where we could store our luggage so that we could go off to the park. Rooms look renovated (not sure when) but everything was clean and looked new. The in room coffee maker was a nice touch. Oh, and they have large jugs of fruit infused water in the lobby - the pineapple one is a hit. The hotel is a 5 - 10 minute walk to the park enterance (depending on if you are coming or going). Would definately stay here again when I return!

Gah. Cheap plastic finish and old smell. Walking distance to universal (the wait for the universal shuttle is longer than the walk). The service is a disgrace. The power went out- no announcement of any kind from the staff for 30+ minutes. No relocation offered. The central line helpless. Yuck. Don’t bother responding with your standard “ I’m sorry you feel this way your experience is not our usual”. I’m never coming back.
