Had a blast playing water volleyball at the Pacifica pools!

Hugo and Gabriel at Pacifica organized an impromptu water volleyball match with any willing pool attendees this week, and it was the highlight of my day. Hugo was very entertaining and I had a wonderful time meeting new people! Would love to come back thanks to Hugo and Gabriel.

Great time with Hugo and Gabrielle. Played cornhole on beach. Service great. Won at game! Great time. Highly recommend. Weather is wonderful. We are visiting for our anniversary and it is so much fun.

Staff was great, hotel was clean and they did a great job with social distancing measures and mask wearing, food was good with ample choices. The pool area was very nice with plenty chairs and umbrellas.

I went with my husband and daughter in mid January. The weather was warm and dry but few people swam in the pools because it was a bit chilly. The resort was about 30% full and I don't know if it is the same experience when full. i would guess there are enough chairs for about 60% of capacity. Dinner reservations were never a problem but might be during high season. The food for the most part was excellent. Mid week the breakfast changed from menu to buffet. Some servers offered the menu but not ours. Not sure why. The buffet was a bit odd because staff at the buffet asked what I wanted and put it on my plate. Nice touch that towels are available at the pool without needing a card or room number. We went to the clubhouse for breakfast and it was great. We also took the shuttle to Rose for lunch and the Sunset for dinner. It made me appreciate the upscale quality of the Pacifica. Even so, see the other resorts. It is a fun way to get out without paying for food when you are already on the AI program. Alan and Rodrigo were awesome servers. Don't miss the hike with Hugo, It was a challenging hike up to the lighthouse with great views and photo ops. Tipping/billing - you must sign a bill for everything you eat and drink and it contains a high price that they would have charged. We generally tipped 10% of the total. They say it is AI but tipping is kind of expected. The resorts tell the customers tipping is not required but the staff are compensated by tips. There is a disconnect. If you really don't want to tip, price compare to places such as Sandals that prohibit tipping. It probably evens out in the price. We thought the alcohol was fine and there were fun drinks. Check the list so you know what is included. I saw people at the bar being up-charged for Titos vodka. There are up-charges on most menus but they are noted so just be careful. We only did an alcohol upcharge one night. The resort is relaxed so there are a few activities and no nightlife beyond dinner and drinks. Thanks to the reviews I avoided the time share presentations. I would say to anyone if you actually want a timeshare, do your research and know before you buy. A word on the spa. I wanted a massage but was told the price was $190 for 50 minutes. I was offered a 20% discount. I presume the tip would have brought it back to at least $190. The price was ridiculous. It even put me in a bad mood for a while, like they were trying to take advantage or something. If you want a massage, there are many nice spas in town or even a short walk from the Rose. A few people have complained about billing problems. That can happen anywhere so check your itemization the night before checkout. Try to work it out with the merchant. i have been in. a situation where they were difficult and gave me the run around. At that point file a dispute with your credit card company. That usually resolves things. Lastly I thought they did a great job with cleanliness and covid protocols. A few people seemed nervous and worried. I would say stay home if you are that worried. Again they did a great job but if your worries will ruin your vacation it isn't worth going.
Great Resort

We had a phenomenal time on our honeymoon here! Spent 8 days and 7 nights. Ninjer and Kayla took amazing care of us at the swim up bar everyday. The pros were that everything was included, food was very good everywhere we ate and the location and weather was divine. It was extremely clean and they took COVID precautions very seriously. The towers have a topshelf bar/restaurant area only available to those that stay in the towers and that was so awesome. We also enjoyed the spa and the ability to go to the sister resort Rosé and get into the water there. I liked that no vendors were near our condo since at the sister resort we had someone asking every 2 minutes if we wanted to buy something. I understand it is a very tourist driven place but it was frustrating when we were simply trying to enjoy the beach. We did have a few let downs. We stayed in the towers and even though we told them ahead of time it was our honeymoon there was nothing extra special done as indicated on their website. This was a big bummer for us since it was expected and when we got to the room it was just a regular setup. Our butler failed to set up our spa day correctly and communication somewhat lacked throughout the stay. For that I felt having a butler was overrated. Don't book a private sedan. We paid $220 to be picked up in a mini van. I think that should be stated when booking as we thought with that price it would be a nice ride. Last on my complaint list was we accidentally left something behind and called as soon as we got to the airport. They had all our info and we never received our items. I called back and was told they were coming but still never arrived. That was $100+ of personal items we lost. Other than that, def stay at this resort. We will definitely be back!
