Stayed the week of Oct 1st and had a very pleasant stay. The rooms and grounds were clean. Service was great, Hector at the pool took great care of us ! A little ways from everything, but makes it more relaxing. Also had a shuttle service to its sister hotels which was nice. Overall a great stay !

I cannot rave enough about how incredible this resort (and its staff) are!! My husband and I got married there on October 9th with our closest friends and family and it was so above and beyond what we ever could have expected. Our room was absolutely beautiful, with the most stunning view of the marina and beach club. It was always cleaned perfectly daily, and the maids are so kind and courteous. All of the hotel staff from front desk staff, to waiters, to poolside staff, to my wedding planner Maria, and our photographer Tony were so accommodating and friendly. We really did not want to leave!! Our wedding went off without a hitch, and was literally like something out of a magazine. We will remember this for the rest of our lives, and plan to come back many many more times. Great food, fantastic drinks, and even better service. Special thanks to our wedding coordinator Maria, our photographer Tony, and our regular poolside waitors Carlos, Carlos and Oscar. I cannot thank you all enough!!!

Staff is beyond helpful, everyone goes above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of, resort is small and relaxing. Close to town.. our room was a little outdated but still nice. Fast shuttle service to the sister resorts.

    Very nice location and rooms.

Very nice location and rooms. Our room was clean and roomy with a fantastic view. The service and food was not as good as other El Cid resorts. The service was exceptional at the other El Cids we have been to.

Great staff and nice location and grounds. Make sure you do not get Building J

I stayed here on an Interval International Certificate. It was a nice week getaway and I added an extra night through Expedia. I like having my own kitchen to heat up food and store water in a fridge and have a nice coffeemaker. Here they charge you for the coffee in the morning but I brought coffee from home and also bought some at Walmart with all my other groceries. I did not cook in the room but heated up food. I enjoyed some snacks throughout the day. At first we had Room 401 in Building J, it was not a nice room and the view was terrible and the room was just not nice. We asked for a switch and they offered us an immediate change to another room but opted to move the next morning and we received a room in Building A, on the 6th floor right next to the amazing pool with the cave and view of the marina, mountains and ocean. I was so impressed with this room, it was larger with a sitting area and larger kitchenette. I enjoyed the hotel. The staff were excellent. Happy hours were good but I found the drinks weaker than they should be. The location is a bit away from most things and with the shuttle to the other hotels you will be within walking distance of the malecon. We found it worthwhile to rent a car, via Alamo downtown and it was $30 for 5 days and returned to the airport, the cost of the taxi from the airport to the hotel. We drove everywhere. We found nice restaurants. The Marina had nice food at the pool the day we did AI, we ate at the Granada Argentine restaurant. The Marina is the nicest of the El Cid properties. The others look like old 1970-1980s hotels. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The beach we did not get to. The hotel staff advised us how to get to Stone Isl, I highly recommend and we did a beach club there.Molokay, and the staff and food and drinks were superb. The facilities nice. I enjoyed my stay. El Cid owes me nothing.
