Just spent an amazing 6 days here and let me tell you this place is the reason i regret not visiting Jamaica earlier in life From arrival we were greeted and treated with the utmost kindness and respect on top of that booking with our amex got us a 4 category upgrade to an amazing 1 bed suite literally beachfront like 10 feet to the beach Room- classic luxury style very well kept and maintained, beautiful views of the ocean with a spacious patio , 2 tv's , all the things you need irons , slippers an amazing touch we have never seen anywhere was aloe vera gel with the tolietries modern self controlled AC units as well The maids were great daily as well as doing turndown service at all hours of night (when we left for late dinners they would come do it while we were away) Grounds- stunning well kept manicured grounds lush green everywhere with ponds and rivers along with beautiful white buildings and cottages on a perfect stretch of beaches , so much to do from golf , mini golf , tennis courts, basketball courts, full gym , children's play areas , multiple pools i think 6-7 perfect resort such nice walks along the beach and or through the resort Staff- every single staff member from waiters, bell men , gardeners , maids etc were so friendly and kind always asking how we were and if everything is ok really impressive from all the things I've heard about jamaica in the past special attention from 2 bell men Dean and Paul really were the ones that made our stay extra special Restraunts-the seagrape terrace was a great lunch and breakfast spot for us in the older side of the hotel always good food and service North point and spices were both amazing during the day hanging at the pool and beach great staff and food Sugar mill was very very good but also very pricey and service was great from the assitant waiter not so much our actual waiter Delmare def not a suitable replacement for the once amazing il giardino we heard so much about food was average service was great If you are able to rent a personal golf cart its a fun expiernce and convenient as well This hotel is an absolute 10/10 id say 12/10 there was a couple incidents i would like to share before we came we read some reviews on petty theft in Jamaica one day my wife left her rolex sitting on the bedside table we were out for a day activity around 5 hours and were a bit concerned when we returned to the room it was sitting on a small towel next to the bed we were so impressed by this Must stay mussssst stay if its in your budget ??

we are a multiGen family of 8 who have rented villas two years in a row and requested this team because they are incredible. I own a travel Agency and have seen it all. What i love abou the villas is the 8 of us spent $2k total on groceries for the week > karen is the cook and can and will make anything > Kirk will go and get all the food and drink all while being your butler/concierge MONEY: $2k over 7 days = less than $300 a day to feed 8 or less than $100 per meal! ncluded bottled water

We traveled with another couple and we each had a Prestige Ocean Front Suite (3001 and 3003). These rooms are amazing and are 30 feet from the ocean. One morning we watched stingrays feeding on conch on the reef. Everyone on this resort was so friendly and were always asking if they could do anything for us. We were greeted with rum punch upon check in and Pat and Monique were very professional and funny. You can tell that everyone on staff has been trained to make sure you enjoy your vacation. We were lucky to have Sonia as our housekeeper every day and she was delightful. Always smiling and made sure we had everything in the room that we needed. The food at every restaurant was very good. Everyone ordered something different and there was never a bad dish. My husband and I made sure to order dessert every night - you have to try it all! It was also delicious. I’ve noticed that some reviewers complained about the lack of shade and chairs on the beaches. I’m not sure what they were talking about. We found plenty of both. The pools are the same - lots of chairs and plenty of shade. We spent some time at all the bars and the bartenders were fantastic. They remember what you drink and remember your name. You have to take the time to have dinner at the Sugar Mill. The food is great and the setting is beautiful. Go early so you can sit outside. We rented a golf cart for the week and unfortunately one night someone ran into ours while it was parked at the lobby. We had gone to Sugar Mill and when we returned our cart was pushed into another cart and the hub cap was shattered. We took pictures and told the front desk what happened. They had someone from maintenance come out and look and noticed the cart next to ours had bumper damage so we’re pretty sure they were the culprits. Regardless it was handled quickly and we were on our way. There was a new area that was going to open three days after we left. It was going to have more rooms, some villas and another restaurant. That just means we have to go back and check them out. We talked to Guy Stuart as we were waiting to leave. He is the owner of Half Moon and was kind enough to visit with us as we waited for our ride to the airport. He was very nice and we let him know what a wonderful time we had at his resort.

Love Half moon- but new pool policy is a no go

We have been to Half Moon a handful of times and love it. We were excited to see the new section of restaurants, rooms and main house open when we arrived. The new pool is stunning and overlooks the ocean. We were dismayed to learn that this prime spot is being restricted to adults only. Half moon prides itself on being a family resort and children are permitted on the beach right in front of the pool and the restaurant surrounding it- making for a family atmosphere and not logical for the no kids policy in the pool in the middle. I understand this is brand new but I would strongly encourage them to rethink this policy. Families were being turned away repeatedly. It will definitely be a factor in us planning a return visit.

After 10 years of frequenting Half Moon I thought I knew what to expect when I returned earlier this month. I was soooo wrong! While it’s always so good to return to this amazing place our most recent visit was straight up over the top. What I have always referred to as the “casual luxury” of this property has been elevated to an even higher level with the completion and opening of the new Eclipse area. Simply put, Eclipse is just more of everything that makes Half Moon so special and so different from other resorts. While I still love (and prefer) the more traditional West cottages, the Eclipse area is like having a whole other resort right next door. The amenities are all gorgeous and new and the Half Moon hospitality is in full effect. The best of all possible worlds. I cannot wait to go back to Half Moon. I can’t imagine any reason to go elsewhere unless you’re looking for crowds and noise. The energy at Half Moon is just right. Four hundred acres. Two miles of beach. Just 200 rooms. No elevators.
